6 Shinigami, quincy and fullbringer, a battle for survival!

Chapter six.

"Hey... Hey!" Kuromiya called, poking the unconscious girl on her cheek. "Wake up already, i need a favor from you."

Resting at the top of a high building, the fullbringer was now waiting for the black haired girl to recover.

It had been around five minutes since he had defeated the three hollows, but the battle was far from over.

His eyes looked away from the beautiful girl and ended up landing at what looked to be a gigantic hole in the sky.

'I still should have around an entire hour until that thing gets out.' He noted, poking the girl once again.

"... Ngh." A soft whimper came out of her lips, finally waking up.

The girl tried to stand up, but failed to do so due to the fact that she was basically out of any spiritual pressure.

"You shouldn't move too much." The fullbringer warned her, after all he knew why she was feeling so weak.

"... Is it over?" She managed to stand up after her second try, and asked a single question to his classmate.

"Not quite." He replied, pointing towards the sky. "But that doesn't matter right now, i need something from you."

"... You need something? What's it?'' By now, both of them were looking downwards from the edge of the building, and things looked surprisingly calm down there.

''You still got your phone with you, right?'' He asked the girl, she nodded. ''I need you to call Urahara, tell him I'll pick Orihime up.''

''Orihime? … Oh!'' It took a second for her to realize that her classmate would be one of the first targets for hollows, due to her abnormally high spiritual pressure. ''Don't worry, I'll call him once we are down.''

''Thank you.'' The fullbringer thanked the girl, nodding at her ''Now, jump.''

''Ugh…'' Rukia watched as the boy opened up his arms to her, and it was obvious that she was expecting her to jump at him. ''Fine, but don't drop me or I'll kill you.''

''How scary.'' The black haired boy answered in a nonchalant tone, though he did give her a small smile. ''Now, up.''

The Kuchiki girl jumped without further delay, though it was highly humiliating to her to require of human assistance in order to get down from a building. His arms wrapped up around her, and the boy's smile growed as he felt the girl shift around shyly.

'How cute, wouldn't expect that from a girl ten times my age.' Kuromiya thought, and jumped down without wasting another second.

He landed graciously on the ground and allowed the girl to stand on her own, much to her relief.

''Uh…'' The fullbringer stared at her awkwardly, he wanted to leave as soon as possible in order to check if Orihime was right, but he had something that was stopping him.

"… What?" Rukia questioned, raising her eyebrow at her classmate's antics. ''If you're worried about me then you don't need to, I'll be fine.''

Now with the confirmation that it was okay for him to leave, the blue eyed boy left at full speed, his grasp on the technique Bringer Light getting better with ease.

. . .

Slashing through a hollow with his massive sword, the orange haired substitute soul reaper watch as the beast disappeared in spirit particles.

''Haah, aah.'' Panting heavily, he used the hand that wasn't holding his sword to clean some drops of sweat falling through his face. 'No matter how much of them I kill, there's just too many.'

''Shit! Damn you, Ishida.'' Ichigo cursed, forcing himself to keep moving forward in order to find his sisters. ''I'll make you cry when I find you, I swear.''

. . .

Not even half a kilometer away from there, Ichigo's target was fighting his own battle, or rather finishing his own battle.

One of the hollows in the sky had an arrow piercing it right through its hollow hole, but even though it had sustained a considerable amount of damage, it still was alive.

That didn't last for long, since a second arrow was fired in rapid succession, this time impaling the creature completely. This attack was more than enough to kill it, completely erasing its existence with that second shot.

''I am starting to lose my ability to kill them with a single attack.'' The quincy said, a few drops of blood falling to the ground as he said those words. The fact of the matter was he was exerting himself past his comfort zone, the proof of this was on his bleeding hand due to the amount of shot he had fired from his spiritual bow.

'But what's going on here? There's too many hollows for a bait that small.' His glare intensified at such a thought, it was obvious that something else was going on here. 'It's almost like some other huge power is attracting them here.'

Two new hollows appeared from a pair of portals in the sky, the quincy charged his bow in response, reading himself to fire another barrage of shots.

'But that stuff is irrelevant. Firing at the hollows, one last thought filled his mind. 'Master, I'll avenge you.'

. . .

''This just isn't my day.'' This were the words of no other than Kon, who was running away from an ugly hollow which looked like a caterpillar who had been eating too much vegetables inside Chernobyl.

Still piloting Ichigo's body, he had already confirmed that Ichigo's sister were completely safe and with his dad, the only thing he needed to do now was to find the substitute soul reaper in order to give him that information.

''Stop following me already!'' Kon screamed, looking back at the hollow who didn't seem to be willing to give up any time soon. ''Come on Ichigo, where the hell are you!?''

. . .

''Tsubaki! Koten Zanshun!'' The voice of Orihime Inoue called, activating her one and only offensive attack she had. ''I reject!''

What looked like a beam of lighting was fired straight at the girl's enemy, that enemy was a hollow that appeared to be almost like an earth octopus.

Fortunately for anyone who had the bad luck to see that hollow's face, the attack that Orihime unleashed at it with her newly awakened powers was more than enough to completely pierce it in half, leaving nothing behind.

''I… Did it.''

This fight had been fought at the school grounds, which naturally had ended up with more than a few students being in harm's way. T

Although all the students where unconscious right now, there had been someone watching the fight from a while ago, and that someone was the fullbringer Akihiko Kuromiya.

''Guess it's finally over.'' He muttered, using his Bringer Light to catch the now unconscious girl before she managed to hit the ground.

There was a reason behind why he had decided to watch this fight, of course. That reason being that Orihime was just too useful to risk her being killed by a random hollow if by some strange miracle she didn't manage to release her hidden powers.

The fullbringer had been forced to choose between checking up on Orihime or Chad's fight, and at he decided that the former was far more useful.

Throwing the girl over his right shoulder he carried her away from the place, not even bothering to take a look towards the other injured students.

'I guess I'll drop her with Urahara, he should still be at the store.''

. . .

''Waah, you! Give me a hand here, would you!?'' Kon had finally spotted someone, who unfortunately wasn't Ichigo.

''Mmph.'' Two arrows were fired within no more than a tenth of a second, killing the big caterpillar hollow with little to no effort.

''… Thank you.'' Now that he was finally safe, Kon fell to his knees without any breath left inside him.

The person next to him was naturally Uryu Ishida, who still looked to be ready to exterminate more hollows.

''If you don't want to die then stick with me…'' Just before he was able to finish his sentence, he felt a familiar spiritual pressure arriving at the street. Jumping from above a wall at the side of the streets, both of them were able to see an unmistakable massive zanpakuto in the hands of someone dressed in complete black.

''Ishida, I finally find you!'' The substitute soul reaper pointed his sword threateningly at the quincy, more than a little ready to kick his ass.

''Ichigo!'' Kon happily said, jumping towards the soul reaper.

''Kon? What are you doing here, did you find Yuzu and Karin?'' The orange haired soul reaper asked, now facing his very own physical body.

''Last time I saw them they were with your father, so you don't need to worry about them!'' Kon assured him, after all even though Isshin was a goofball it would be a cold day in hell before someone managed to put a finger on his daughters.

''That's good.'' The fifteen-year-old boy smiled, he was finally able to relax knowing that both of his sisters were safe.

''Kurosaki…'' The quincy was sporting a smile too, after all his opponent had arrived once again.

''I haven't forgotten about you, Ishida. You'll get what's coming to you, but until then…'' The three of them turned their gazes above them, where an unimaginable amount of black portals were appearing one after the other. ''I'll kick their asses.''

. . .

''… Twelve down, a million more to go.'' Slashing his way past the streets, the fullbringer was cutting down every single hollow that had the misfortune to get in his way.

He had already dropped Orihime at Urahara's store, and there was no safer place for her than inside there. There was no need for him to waste any more time, and thus he decided that it was time to farm as much points as he could until he was able to find Ichigo and Uryu.

The black haired boy could only hope that the shop keeper would be able to have a proper talk with Chad and Orihime, after all he had changed quite a few things from canon already.

Regular hollows were no match for him now that he had boosted his spiritual pressure beyond the power of a regular third seat officer, which meant that the hollow infested city was almost like a hidden treasure for him.

The moment that the fullbringer spotted a hollow, he would jump at it with Bringer Light and exterminate it with a single swing of his asauchi. His focus wasn't on this small fry though, since his eyes were locked at a single spot in the sky, more specifically at some spot where the sky almost looked to be 'breaking' itself.

'The big one over there should be more of a challenge, the question is… Do I have any sort of technique that would help me finish the Menos Grande?' He asked himself, sprinting his way past the streets at unbelievable speeds. 'I don't think I can kill him with just swinging this small sword.'

. . .

''Quit talking about killing some hollows, Ishida! This battle is about you and me!'' The soul reaper had just slashed one of the quincy's arrows, which he had fired against a hollow near them. ''Let's settle this between the two of us!''

''…'' Neither the quincy nor Kon offered a response to Ichigo's declaration, after all their attention was somewhere else, and that place was in the sky.

''Say something Ishida!'' Infuriated by the lack of answer to his challenge, Ichigo's anger was raising rather quickly.

''Hey, Ichigo…'' Kon tried to warn his friend, after all he hadn't noticed what was going on just yet.

''What is it!? I'm bus-''

''The sky…'' Kon muttered, his tone of voice making it clear how dire their situation was.

Not even more than an hour ago, what once was a beautiful sky covered in nothing but clouds now appeared to be falling apart, as if something was tearing the air itself apart. More importantly, all the hollows near the area where converging on that same spot, as if they were attracted it.

''The hollows are gathering… Tch!'' The first to snap out of his shocked state was the self-proclaimed last of his kind, running up the stairs in order to get a better angle to aim at them.

''Down here, you hollows!'' A single arrowed was fired at one of the hundreds of small hollows near the hole in the sky, gaining the attention of a few of them. ''The last quincy, Ishida Uryu will stand and face you!''

''… The last quincy?'' Ichigo's words weren't aimed at no one in particular, but to his surprise he did get a response to his question.

''The quincys went extinct around two hundred years ago.'' Just behind Ichigo's and Kon's back, Kuromiya was resting against a stone wall next to the stairs that Uryu had climbed not even a few seconds ago. ''Though I suppose that's not the right wording…''

'Kuromiya? Since when has he been standing there?' Ichigo had to take a step back at that, he was sure that there was no one there when he had last looked at it, and it shouldn't have been possible for him to cover that distance without him noticing it.

''You should pay attention because I'll only explain this once.'' The fullbringer informed him, now pointing with his index finger at Uryu, who was fighting against a big group of hollows. ''The quincys were exterminated by the soul reapers, you can ask him about the details about it later, but right now…''

''There's no need to say it.'' The substitute soul reaper snapped out of his shocked state, he decided that he could worry about the quincys once they had saved the town, not before. ''I'll assume that if you're holding a sword then you can fight, right?''

''I can handle myself, if that's what you are asking.'' Ichigo didn't even need to hear his classmates answer, after all he somehow could feel that he was strong, perhaps due to the fact that he was getting a bit more skilled at feeling someone's spiritual pressure.

No other words were exchanged, with surprising synchronization both students jumped up the stairs and ran straight towards the quincy, who was being surrounded by a considerable number of hollows from every angle.

Ichigo already knew what he had to do, of course, slashing his way through the sea of hollows, he made his way past them. In no time, he found himself next to Ishida and standing back to back next to him.

The fullbringer followed Ichigo's path, joining the two of them inside the circle that the hollows had formed all around them. He had his asauchi drawn, but even though he was literally surrounded by hollows his mind could only focus on the hole up in the sky.

''Kuromiya, Kurosaki? What are you the two of you doing here?'' Unfortunately for them, they didn't have any time to answer to Ishida's question since one of the hollows launched towards them, though it was easily cut in half by the fullbringer.

''Ishida… I get that there's a ton of things around the shinigamis and quincys that I don't know yet, so i want to have a talk about that but…'' Ichigo's response was interrupted by yet another hollow who attempted to attack the three of them, though this time it was pierced by a blue arrow courtesy of the quincy.

''I get it.'' To Kuromiya's surprise, Ishida actually agreed to talk about it after the fight, and that was once again a clear deviation from canon.

'I guess I'm not in that timeline anymore, how useful is my information going to…' His thoughts were interrupted by Ichigo's massive sword, which smashed a hollow that had attempted to attack him while he was lost in thought.

''Wake up, Kuromiya.'' Ichigo warned him, grinning at the boy's shocked face. ''That was my twenty-first hollow killed, by the way.''

''Oh, wasn't this a contest between you and me? What happened about not including the hollows on it?'' The quincy smiled at that, and after piercing another hollow with his arrows, he added. ''That was the twenty fourth.''

''It looks like I'm winning then.'' Kuromiya interjected with a grin of his own, after all he had been farming hollows ever since he left Orihime at Urahara's store. ''I'm at thirty, so does that mean that fullbringers are superior to shinigamis and quincys? This might not be so much of a competition after all.''

''You talk big for a race I had barely heard about, Kuromiya.'' It was Ishida's turn to smirk at him now, the three of them now engaging in battle with multiple hollows without pause. ''I sure hope that you can back that up with more than just words.''

. . .

''… Urahara, you need to do something!'' Not too far away from them, there were a group of people watching their fight, each of them with different feelings about it.

''Relax, Rukia.'' The shop keeper answered, shacking his fan around without a care in the world. ''I assure you they can handle themselves, you have already seen what Kuromiya is capable of, right?''

''… Is Kurosaki-kun really going to be okay?'' Next to them, a gentle voice belonging to no other than Inoue Orihime was more than a bit worried for the wellbeing of her classmates.

''It's no use, there are just too many of them.'' Next to her, Chad was sharing a similar line of thought, even though he had known Ichigo for a long time, that many monster were just too much to deal with.

''My, my… You all just worry too much.'' With a slight sigh, the shop keeper closed his hand fan and pointed with it right towards the fight. ''Besides, I've already sent more than enough help for them.''

Each of them followed the direction at which the man was pointing towards, and at that exact instant a barrage of attacks was released against the gathered hollows.

. . .

Not even a second ago, the three classmates had been completely surrounded, but now there wasn't even a single one of them left, not after the attack from…

''H-hello.'' A small little girl holding some sort of canon-like weapon three times her size talked to them, her shy persona only managing to make the situation even more bizarre.

''… Jinta Home Run!'' It didn't stop there though, since Jinta and Tessai joined the girl with their own attacks, quickly dispatching the remaining hollows with ease.

''The hell…?'' Ichigo managed to say, not sure on how to react to their new allies, if you could even call them that.

''Friends of yours, Kurosaki?'' Ishida asked, though even he wasn't able to hide the shock away from his usually stoic face.

''My friends, actually… Well, more like coworkers? I'm not really sure.'' Kuromiya tried to answer, though even himself wasn't really sure how to introduce the weird group.

''The boss said we should be handling the small ones.'' Tessai informed them, while pointing at the hole in the sky. ''And the three of you should handle that one.''

They were just on that time for it, after all the hole in the sky was now being torn apart by a ridiculously gigantic pair of white hands, each of them with nails longer than the size of a normal human.
