13 Back In Time [2]

'What's up with him? It's not even a challenge anymore,' Madara said as he elbowed Reiner in his stomach causing him to spit out blood.

Madara stopped his attacks as he saw that Reiner was injured, something he had never nor seen before. Madara could only pity the old man due to his age catching up to him. That's what Madara saw, his age, but if only he knew.

"Old man, get yourself together. Seeing how injured you are now, you'll die if I get serious," Madara said as he glared at Reiner who only smiled in response.

"To think you would injure an old man this harshly," Reiner said as he got up and walked back to the house.

"Hmmm," The sound Madara made before he got back to training.

Instead of body training, Madara decided that he would focus on his magic and mana control, but the thing that irritated him the most was that when he training his magic his control would increase along with his reserves.

When he meditated to get better control over his mana, his reserves would increase every time leaving him with more work to do.

But Madara wanted to try something else today, when he was back on earth as Quinn, he saw that Licht was able to fly without using a broom.

Madara relaxed his muscles as he took a deep breath not forgetting to use the breathing technique because the old man could be watching.

Madara focused and concentrated vast amounts of mana on the soles of his feet and picture himself flying. Reiner was preparing food when he looked out of the window to see Madara just standing there.

"Why is he just standing there?" Reiner said to himself, but dropped the knife he was holding because he saw Madara start to levitate.

When Madara opened his eyes, he could see he was a few meters off the ground. A genuine smile crept its way onto Madaras' face. Madara started moving around to get the feel of it and not long after, he was fly but at slow speeds.

Madara descended to the ground and could only be proud of himself. After that, he practiced flying getting more control over it. Madara practice fighting in the air, his speed, and direction, his swordplay, and magic.

Even though he didn't have an opponent to home his skills with, his adaptive ability made it easier to do things while flying.

Madara spent the whole day getting used to flying, but he noted that he should focus on one thing while flying instead of everything at once.

As the day ended, Madara went back into the house and ate dinner with the old man.

"So you can fly now?" Reiner said before taking a bite of his food.

"Yeah, are you surprised?" Madara asked nonchalantly before taking another bite of his food.

"I was delighted that my student was able to teach himself something that I wasn't able to," Reiner said while stroking his bread.

"I could teach you," Madara said to Reiner.

"Ahh, that's no good, even if I have a good amount of mana and mana control, it Is said that the ones that can fly are blessed by mana and have high mana control," Reiner said with his eyes closed.

"Is that so?" Madara said as he looked at Reiner in his closed eyes.

The next day, Madara didn't do any physical workouts he wanted to give his body a rest. If he continuously worked out with no rest he would be short forever. But that didn't stop him from meditating to increase his mana and mana control.

For hours, Madara sat in a lotus position taking portions of his wild uncontrolled mana, then analyzing that mana and learns everything about it to control it.

But every time Madara would come back to the wild and uncontrolled mana, more of it appeared. It was less than what Madara took to control, but it still irritated him.

This was the first time Madara spent the day meditating so he lost track of time. A hand was placed on his shoulder and when he opened his eyes, it was night time and when he looked up it was Reiner.

"What time is it?" Madara asked as he stood up and stretched. The sounds of bones cracking could be heard from a distance.

"It's around midnight," Reiner said before turning around and walking into the house.

'Midnight already? It only felt as if a few hours passed. I need to manage my time better,' Madara thought before walking in behind Reiner.

When Madara walked inside, he saw that food was already cooked and served. Madara took a seat and started eating.

"You need to teach me how to cook," Madara said as he took a bite of the food that tasted as heavenly as always.

"I'm training you to be a fighter, not a chef," Reiner said taking a bite of his food.

"How am I going to feed myself in the future? I will not depend on a woman for my meals that's for sure," Madara said as he took a bite out of his bread that he dipped in a sauce that Reiner made.

"I just messing with you, I will teach you how to cook, but on a condition," Reiner said.

"What's the condition?" Madara asked thinking it was going to be something harsh.

"I want you to deliver this bag to Hage village tomorrow before nightfall, and you have to do your training before," Reiner said with a smirk on his face.

"Hage village?" Madara said as he thought about making an earlier friendship with Asta, but that made his stomach turn. The thought of having friends made him uneasy.

"Yes, it's a small village a few miles from here. The last time I was there they had this bland food called 'Nomotato'. The people there have to at that every day so I wanted to be nice and deliver this to them," Reiner said with a smile and blushing a bit thinking about the nun that was there.

"Ok, how do I get there?" Madara asked ignoring Reiner's blush.

Reiner pulled out a map and showed Madara where to go from where he was now. It was a pretty big map which confused Madara because he said "A few miles". After Reiner was finally finished, the distance was further than the 1,200 km run. But who says he didn't want a challenge.

Since Madara hadn't pushed his body to his limit today, he was well-rested and ready for tomorrow.

"Old man, I thought you said a few miles," Madara said as he took his eyes away from the map and looked at him.

"Yeah, a few hundred miles. That's what I said right?" Reiner said with a smile.

"I hope you stump your toe," Madara said as he finished his food and went to his room.

"Hehehe," Reiner laughed at Madaras' comment as he finished his food and went to his room.

Thinking about it, Madara had done no physical training so he was going put more food in the bags than he originally planned to.

When Reiner walked Into his room, he misses a step and stumped his toe on the bed.

"AHH, GOD DAMN IT," Reiner shouted as he held his foot in pain.

Madara laughed to himself as he quickly fell asleep.
