Chapter 20: Nebra Silvia: What is this feeling?

When Ben encouraged Noelle to believe in herself, he couldn't help but pity her for having the world's best brother like Nozel.

Even though Nozel concealed the truth of their mother's death, he made sure to put it on Noelle.

Despite not directly blaming her, he kept his silence when his siblings accused and blamed Noelle.

'I don't approve of his method; there are more correct ways. Instead, he blamed it on Noelle's head.'

Ben glanced at the girl before him who had no confidence in herself.

When Noelle heard Ben, she clenched her fists in determination to give her best because this was the first time someone believed in her and asked her to believe in herself.

She lifted her head and looked at Ben with a firm gaze filled with determination.

"I will do my best, teacher."

Noelle declared with determination.

Ben raised his eyebrows, looking at Noelle.

"Well, from today onwards, you need to do workouts daily. Now, run four rounds, circling this garden."

Ben gave his first order as a teacher with a gentle smile on his face.

"What..."

Noelle was shocked when Ben asked her to run around the garden four times, with a confused look on her face.

"Hurry up; it will help you get strong."

Ben, noticing Noelle's confused look, urged her to start running.

Noelle nodded her head and began running.

She had seen how the teachers of her brother and sister taught them from a distance, but she never saw their teacher ask them to do workouts to get stronger.

"Now, try to breathe steadily in a rhythm instead of breathing unevenly, which will cause you to exhaust easily."

Ben started to instruct Noelle to keep her breath steady.

When Noelle looked at Ben, who did not even breathe heavily, she nodded her head and started to breathe steadily.

After trying for a minute, Noelle lost her steady breathing.

"Train it, Noelle; make it your muscle memory whenever you run, you need steady breathing instead of unsteady breathing."

When Noelle completed the running, she started to breathe heavily.

"Not bad."

Ben nodded his head and stood before her.

"Now, do 30 push-ups, 30 sit-ups, 30 box jumps, and 25 pull-ups."

Ben, after praising Noelle, asked her to do serious exercises with a kind smile.

"What..."

Noelle looked at Ben in horror when she noticed his kind smile, which looked like the devil smiling at her.

"Come on, don't waste time; hurry up and start doing workouts."

Ben once again started to urge Noelle, who was giving him a pitiful look.

Under Ben's urge, Noelle completed the workout with a painful expression on her face.

Her whole body started to ache in pain, while her legs were shaking, indicating she had exhausted most of her energy.

"You need to continue this workout daily. Now, today your class is finished."

Ben instructed Noelle to do this workout daily and left the garden.

Noelle didn't move; she lay down on the grasses of the garden under one of the trees, looking at the sky.

'I need to do this daily! Is he planning to kill me!'

"Baka, this is how you treat a woman."

Her eyes slowly shut down in exhaustion while whispering with a pout.

After a week, Ben continued to train Noelle in the physical aspect, not concentrating on mana now.

After a week...

Noelle started to show improvement in her strength, stamina, and agility.

Even though Noelle complained about Ben, who kept pushing her to do exercises and not training her to control her mana, she did everything correctly.

While training, Ben was satisfied with her effort.

"Now, Noelle, can you show me your magic?"

Ben asked Noelle once again, to which she nodded her head and opened her palm in a water ball, but it was not stable.

"Oye... oye... trash, what are you here? Who are you?"

A girl who was older than Noelle but looked exactly like her, with purple eyes, walked towards them with a grin.

Her silver-white hair was slightly wavy and left loose at the lower back, while the sides and top were swept back in tousled spikes.

Her bangs were combed to a point on her forehead. She is Nebra Silvia, the older sister of Noelle.

An hour before...

At first, when Nebra got information about Noelle getting a teacher to teach her, she was very angry.

Still, after knowing the teacher was a commoner, she didn't care. However, when she was passing through the garden, she heard a male's voice that caught her attention.

'He... he looks handsome. Who is he?'

She was mesmerized by looking at Ben and stood stunned in the same spot.

When Ben encouraged Noelle while making her exercise with a wide smile on his face.

When Nebra saw Ben's smile, her heart started to beat fast.

The world stopped for a few seconds while looking at Ben's smile.

'Why is my chest starting to ache? What is this feeling?'

Nebra snapped out of her daze and took a deep breath with a confused look on her face.

Suddenly, her eyes landed on Noelle, who was smiling brightly at Ben while chatting.

'Why?... Why?... I am feeling pain.'

Nebra looked confused, but when she looked again at Noelle, her eyes widened at the image of the woman who looked exactly like an older version of Noelle.

"Mother..."

Nebra was stunned for a second, and anger started to swell up inside her.

'Everything is her fault. If not for her, Mother would be alive.'

Nebra started to walk towards Ben and Noelle.

"Oye... oye... trash, what are you doing here? Who are you?"

Nebra asked with a grin, looking at Noelle, who began to panic.

When Noelle heard the voice of her older sister, she began to panic, and her mana output became unstable, resulting in a water ball she created blasting off.

"Sis... sister."

Noelle looked down, not meeting Nebra's eyes, who was looking at her with a mocking face.

Seeing this, Ben's eyes narrowed.

'Here comes another one who misunderstood the conversation between the healer and her brother and pinned Noelle for their mother's death.'

Ben shook his head in disappointment.

"You? Who are you?"

When Nebra noticed Ben was having a disappointed look, she narrowed her eyes and asked Ben while pointing at him.

"Ben from Blue Rose. I am the teacher appointed to teach Noelle."

Ben introduced himself while extending his hand to shake Nebra's hand. Nebra unconsciously shook Ben's hand, a little stunned.

"You... you are the commoner who was appointed to teach her."

Nebra asked while thinking about how to continue her conversation with Ben without even realizing what she was thinking.

While hearing Nebra call him a commoner, Ben didn't show any reaction.

After shaking her hand, Ben turned to Noelle, who was looking at her sister like seeing a ghost.

"Noelle, your magic attribute is water, so your next assignment is simple; you need to hold the water ball in both of your hands without blasting it. You can do it whenever you have time to play."

Ben gave his next instruction to Noelle, who nodded her head with a smile.

'Finally, I can train my magic.'

Noelle once again condensed a ball of water in both hands and maintained it by controlling mana to prevent it from blasting.

"Ben, you are the rookie who made every captain interested in you except Golden Dawn and chose Blue Rose."

Nebra asked in realization with wide eyes because this time she didn't follow Nozel to the Magic Knight exam; instead, her brother Solid followed him.

After the test, she heard about a talented recruit who made every captain willing to accept him in their squad but he chose Blue Rose.

"Yes, it's me."

Ben nodded his head, confirming the guess Nebra made.

"If you don't mind, can you tell me the reason for choosing Blue Rose over the Silver Eagle?"

Nebra questioned curiously, looking at Ben.

Ben was stunned seeing Nebra's reaction. He thought she would like to mock him because he was a commoner based on the anime he watched in his previous life.

"Well, I and Captain Charlotte were acquaintances. So, I chose it because I felt I might belong there."

Ben explained without leaking his real intention of choosing Blue Rose.

'Captain Charlotte?... Acquaintance?'

Nebra, for some reason, felt irritated that Ben and Charlotte seemed too close. She nodded her head and started walking out of the garden hurriedly, with a confused look on her face. This was the first time she felt this weird feeling seeing a man.
