Love is nature, everybody visits it. Falling in love is always fun but to me, it's like a sin. Is love for some people and if it is, am I included or is love just love?hmm...
Chapter 1
Bradley, love is good. It's a wonderful lifetime experience
that you'll live to always have, Love is a Chemistry. Love is
fun when you are with the right person. So I heard my
Grade 6 Class teacher says, as she explains Family Life
Circle to us.
All these thoughts kept ringing in my head. Who on
earth has gotten love right? Momma and Pappa are just a
living cat and rat, House turn upside down can't even
remember the last time a friend came visiting. Uncle Jim
became a drunkard all for love, Aunty Tade is divorced and
curses love. So why does everyone keep saying love is fun?
Mum calls, "Bradley, where are you?".
"Mum I'm trying fixing myself" I replied
How on earth does this woman still have energy to call me with such a loud voice after different rounds of beating that she receives from dad.
"Mum do you need me?", I later responded.
Yes dear, there's no time, let's rush out before the beast father creature of yours walks in. I'm just not in this marriage again. Bradley, but how on earth did I marry this beast and I didn't know he will turn up being this same beast?
I bet I had no answer to that so I kept shut and was getting myself ready. This talk isn't new, even grandma is tired of hearing mum out whenever she starts saying things like this, because barely everyone can say each line she's about to say. It's my daily memory verse, smiles, maybe she doesn't even know she's saying same thing and I bet it frustrate her whenever no one replies.
"I'm talking to you little girl, how did I end up with this beast of a husband?" she directed the question to me.
Jeeeez, what do I say? I just hope my college exam comes out well. I really need to escape. Then I spoke, I wasn't really there when you met dad neither was I alive when you kissed him for the first time, holding his hands and smiling, feeling you have it all but grandma do say she didn't agree to you getting married to him, so why did you agree to still go ahead mum? Don't worry it's going to be fine, I finally said.
All these lines weren't mine, some were grandma's words anytime she demands an answer.
How on earth did you know I smiled that night wow...and you know that was the night that conceived you, wow!, he was sweet then, mum said smiling as if she wasn't the one complaining bitterly just now.
I packed up and hopped into mum's SUV and loooo, dad pulled into the garage. This is world war XVI. Funny right? but alas mum zoomed out fast and almost crush the gate. Wow! it wouldn't have been a good sight.
Hey Terry! Terry is an old time friend in the neighbourhood.
Hey Bradley, she replied. How's your old folks threating you Bradley?
Hmm, same old story. I'm so happy I'll be graduating this year and will be going to college.
Okay, see you! Terry called out
See you! I replied and hopped into mum's car.
"Bradley, you'll be resuming college next month. I've seen your homeroom teacher. I just need you to fix your life outside this hell of a house" mum looks at the rear mirror as she explains to me.
"Finally, I can also have my fantasy life. I can finally explore how love is. Maybe it's my family not being educated well on how love should be viewed", I smiled.
