Chapter 2: Growing up

In the night sky, a giant red star was shining it's rays down on the birthplace of a small boy. The red star gave the boy's mother a flash of inspiration and she named him Rowan, meaning little red one. Rowan was surprised to find himself in a baby's body.

'Why did Jesus place me in the body of a baby instead of an adult?' Rowan thought to himself. A voice in his mind answered, 'The perfect body for your soul is one that it is born into.'

Rowan, at first, was startled by the sudden voice but then he remembered that Jesus gave him a piece of his divine conscious. 'I should probably give you a name. How about Steve?' Rowan asked the voice, considering, they will be together for a while.

'You could just call me Jesus. I am and was given to you by Jesus,' the voice tried to change Rowan's mind but the boy was already asleep. That's how Rowan was brought into the world and met Steve.

For the first four years of Rowan's life, he had a wonderful time with his mother learning about this world and with Steve, he had been refining chakra inside him since his birth. Although they lived happily, Rowan's mother never allowed him outside the house and he never once saw his father.

Unfortunately, Rowan's peaceful life didn't last long. His mother… was murdered. His mother's death caused a special type of chakra to flow from his brain through his optical nerves. This caused his cornea to turn bright red and a single tomoe rotated in  the red cornea.

Although activating the sharingan was a joyous occasion, it had come at too steep a price. Rowan mourned his mother's death for two days before checking out his sharingan. Turns out there were more benefits to awakening the sharingan.

According to Steve, each evolution stage of the sharingan allows one to choose any jutsu created to add it to one's arsenal. Rowan didn't have to think much before deciding to go with the multi-shadowclone jutsu.

The shadowclone jutsu is an extremely versatile jutsu and had lots of uses but although one can learn any jutsu. Mastering it is something very different.

Rowan finally got the chance to leave the house but things weren't as he thought it would be.

Another four years passed and Rowan's life took a turn for the worst. His family was known as the iron-furred monkeys. They belonged to the Furred Monkey Clan. The clan was widely known as the strongest warrior clan in the Rustfoord Kingdom.

They produced countless legendary figures. The most noticeable aspect of a Furred Monkey warrior is their long tails that they kept wrapped around their waist. The thing that caused Rowan to be treated badly by his family was the fact that he didn't have any tail.

Rowan didn't worry about this and spent most of his time practicing hand seals and the shadowclone jutsu. He also spent a lot of time training his eyes to track fast moving creatures.

Steve also helped by giving advice and refining chakra if Rowan is unable to do so. This caused his chakra level to skyrocket. Since he could only use the shadowclone jutsu, he couldn't compare his chakra to a ninja rank.

Despite being a zero tailed freak, Rowan still received basic training and he more or less became a punching bag for the other people in his generation when it comes to spars.

Although the second four years of Rowan's life didn't go as planned, he still managed to make friends with someone. It came as a surprise but his first friend, except Steve of course, was a small girl that took pity on him when he became a punching bag again.

Her name was Zelnita Samuels and she nursed his wounds when his instructor told him to walk it off. Ever since the first time, she became his most loyal fan. Rooting for him at every sparring match and helping him nurse his wounds afterwards.

Rowan tried his best for Zelly's sake but even though his eyes could keep up, his body couldn't. In the end, he decided to be a genius… a genius of perseverance.

Starting from his eighth birthday, Rowan used the multi-shadowclone jutsu to train multiple basic techniques since he didn't have access to any major jutsu except the once he memorized.

 Rowan made multiple clones of himself and gave tasks to each. He gave the first clone the tasks of transformation jutsu and Substitution jutsu.

The second clone was in charge of chakra control. He had to do the tree climbing exercise and the walk on water exercise.

The third clone had to focus on only one task and that was the body flicker jutsu or also known as teleportation jutsu.

The fourth clone focused on the usage of tools and weapons and also throwing weapons. Luckily, there was benefits to being part of a clan. There was a lot of secluded places for the clones to train.

The fifth clone spent time with Zelly and her mother so that he could learn how to cook and her mother also taught them how to read and write. Well, mostly for Rowan but Zelly attended the small classes too.

The sixth clone focused on the sharingan and most of the genjutsu Itachi Uchiha used in the Naruto universe. He focused on Mirage Crow and Shackling Stakes.

The sixth clone also focused on the counter genjutsu, Mirror Heaven Earth Change. Although the sharingan could see through all illusions, reversing an illusion is more fun.

The seventh clone focused on the rasengan with the eight clone in hopes of learning his first finisher. Learning the rasengan will give Rowan the platform for learning the chidori since he could copy it from Kakashi Hatake like Sasuke Uchiha did.

With the clones doing all the basic ninja training, Rowan's main body lived his life training with his clan members and focusing on getting stronger physically.

Training like a maniac caused Rowan to eventually activate the secondary stage of the sharingan. He chose a type of underrated taijutsu this time and created a ninth clone to focus on that.

Like this, four years passed and Rowan successfully became twelve years old. Like all great heroes, for example, Ash Ketchum and Dora the Explorer, the age of twelve was perfect for going on a journey.
