Chapter 146 - Janet's Cottage Home

Third person POV

 After a little bit of traveling within Garion City's administrative boundaries, Russell and his group arrived at Janet's home, which was a humble cottage made of wood and located in a suburb surrounded by houses, some businesses, and sizeable lawns in most of them. That part of the city was less dense than the rest, and it was dedicated mostly to agriculture, as it was shown by plots of farming lands in most of the area. Pulling over, Russell, Azalea, and John were amazed, before placing their attention at Janet's house. "This is it?" Russell asked Janet.

Grabbing her purse and getting off her seat, Janet responded, "Yes, we're here. Let's get off."

 And so, Russell parked his bus in front of Janet's lawn, opened the door, and turned off the engine, before standing up and grabbing his belongings. All of them then got off and went onto Janet's front porch. There Janet used her keys to open the front door, and she did so. "Come in, come in."

Russell and his friends did so, and Janet went in and closed the door.

 Inside the main room, which is the living room, Janet lighted the chandelier with candles and went to the kitchen to prepare some refreshments for them. As Janet did so, Russell and his friends took their time looking around Janet's home. The walls were full of paintings and framed pictures, some of them had Korean writing in them. As for the meaning of those Korean words, these were mostly wise sayings and random vocabulary in Korean, representing her very studious life as a Korean student in her previous life. Russell was astonished at those writings, which were made by Janet herself, because he, although couldn't understand any Korean words, could recognize the letters in them. "What in the…?" his mind said in shock, "…so that means Janet-san is a…Korean?"

 Just in time, Janet came back with a tray of glasses of water and some handmade and reheated Korean Rolled Omelette and served them to Russell and his friends. "Here, are you guys hungry, too?" Russell and the others saw that and were stunned to see that snack from South Korea. Azalea, delighted by its presentable looks, grabbed one and took a bite of it, tasting its flavorful and salty flavor. "So good…"

 "Master, can I have one?" John asked Russell.

Russell said yes and grabbed one, giving it to John on the floor.

John took a bite of it and was enamored by its taste.

Russell was stunned, before calming down and grabbing another piece of the Korean Rolled Omelette and a glass of water.

 Smiling at how her friends had liked her food, Janet placed her tray on the wooden coffee table and sat down on her armchair. The clock on the grandfather clock next to a bookshelf was ticking mildly and soundly. Finally, after finishing his snack and drink, Russell looked at Janet and asked her if she was a Renad and a Korean in her previous life.

 "Yes, I am," replied Janet back. "You're a Filipino back in yours, right?"

 "Yes, I was," Russell responded with happy and positive-flowing interaction with Janet, "from the Bicol Region."

Janet was surprised to hear that. "Wow…you can speak Bicolano, right? Back in my previous life, I knew that it was their dialect."

 "Yes, still and very fluent. Like this, Nagbalik ako digdi pagkatapos kan trabaho (I went back here after work in Bicolano.)"

Janet was amazed, and asked him back, "How about Tagalog and English?"

 "Yup, yes, and very fluent in them. And you, in English?"

 "Yes, I am."

Both of them laughed as they both interacted to each other very well.

John and Azalea were mildly stunned at their connection, now knowing that Janet is, indeed, a Renad.

 After that, as promised, Janet revealed to them her life and background from her previous life. According to her, she was a Korean named Chang Hwa-Young who lived in Seoul, South Korea. She was a lecturer at one of the country's most prestigious universities. She was working hard, a lot. But at the age of 26, she, while walking down the street to work, got struck by a falling construction material from a nearby construction site, killing her instantly. As a result, she was reincarnated as Janet Zabka, a 23-year-old professor. Her first appearance in this world was in Rossley. She also was reincarnated with her laptop, which was magical and can be charged with magic, fueled by her mana. And, after hopping from one temporary job as a teacher, professor, and lecturer, she managed to land a stable one in Garion City's Saint Tadeo Academy a year ago. Now, it's been a year and 2 months ever since she was reincarnated into that world, and she was living a good, simple, and a bit busy life.
