1 The Immortal Gamer

I felt really cold and could see nothing. I could not even move a little. It was almost as if I was frozen inside a well. I tried to remember what happened to me.

I am Tang Yuan the best player in history of the game Immortal Evolution. I remembered fighting against the final boss of the game, the Demon Ancestor and killing him at the expense of my own health. After dying I was supposed to be logged out of the game and cool down for 24 hours before I could log-in again. However seems like I was never logged out. The game must be frozen right now. Guess I'll wait a few minutes.

Suddenly I saw a bright light and I heard a voice in my head,

"Congratulations to Player Tang Yuan upon successfully completing Immortal Evolution. You've been registered into the Immortal's Hall of Fame and are qualified to enter the God's Hall of the Immortal Realms. Do you accept?"

I was stunned by the sudden announcement. While the voice sounded exactly like Fairy Xu, the A.I. Assistant for players of the game, it said something I could not comprehend. Immortal Realms were the final location of the game and I was already there when I killed the Demon Ancestor. I assumed that the God's Hall might be a secret location in the Immortal Realms.

"I accept."

I saw the same old warp sequence I always saw and was transported to a small room with three boxes of bronze, silver and gold. Fairy Xu spoke again,

"Player Tang Xuan, being the first person to defeat the Demon Ancestor, you are qualified to choose any one of the three boxes and receive the rewards inside it."

I went up and unhesitatingly chose the golden box. I received a message in my inbox,

<You have received the Heavenly Demon God's Treasure. Transferring all items to inventory>

I opened up my inventory and saw the new items from the treasure.

I saw a pretty peculiar item that I had never seen before, a cultivation technique. While this game was just like the XuanHuan novels like Anc*ent G*dly M*narch, L*brary of H*aven's P*th etc. Rather than cultivation, you'd raise your level by gaining exp from completing missions and killing monsters.

I woke up after sometime and realised that I was inside a room. However this room looked nothing like my room. It was huge and totally made of a white stone, which looked like jade.

I heard the voice of Fairy Xu again,

Opening up spatial space....Spatial Space created. Dimensions: 100x100x100 cubic metres.

Looking items in inventory....Found Heavenly Demon God's treasure chest....transferring equipment to Spatial Space.....
