Life 5: Searching For Food

After I'd adjusted my stats and used the attribute points my stats now looked like this.

[POW]: 15

[AGI]: 10

[MND]: 9

Once I stepped in the convenience store somehow I used my enhanced perception to smell any type of food whether it be tinned or just left fresh- I mean at this point I'd eat anything. Walking even further I noticed that the interior was seemingly left unharmed if not for the blood stains and rotting corpses of undead near me.

With nothing to do I went in to the store walking through bloody sludge and remains as I headed for the fridge which was seemingly still connected to electricity meaning I could in fact eat or drink the contents there.

As I neared the fridge I opened it up by it's handle and what I saw inside was a few energy drinks- some microwave meals and some vegetables in good condition, meaning that the owner was killed recently making sense as the soldiers were seemingly gone and all that really remained were their corpses.

I grabbed the energy drink that I used to avoid and looked at the side of the can to check whether it still had date or not. And lucky me I guess it was still in date, popping it open I took a big gulp as I was honestly tired of drinking such little water and such small contents of food that were rationed for us all.

Honestly that {Boom-Smash} from that Zombie was my lucky grace I guess. Looking sideways I noticed a sort of door and with a simple turn of my hand the whole door fell off as I'd broken it off from the hinges.

Heading into the room I noticed it was a small one with only a little circular table in the middle of the room with a small wooden chair near it as well. And on the table was something that surprised me as when I looked at it my {Perceive} skill was activated immediately.

And on it the following was said.

[???]

Picking it up I noticed that it was a pack of chewing gum and when I'd opened the packet and took a piece out the system gave me a common *ding.

[*Ding- Host has found a Power-Up, with this Power-Up you are able to increase your power which is a combination of both your speed and strength for a limited time in which you launch a barrage of attacks at the opposing foe- however maximum damage is achieved if fighting a non-human.]

Hearing this from the system I put back the piece of gum and resealed the pack before placing it inside my pocket- 'this will be really handy and good for later.'

'Though System are there these types of things everywhere?'

Instantaneously the system replied with a quaint answer.

[Throughout this world there are multiple Items, Power-Ups, Skills and Abilities for you to learn, use and activate- the world is vast and so the System hopes you truly explore it – after all you are the one chosen by the Monkey King.]

'Wait- sorry what do you mean chosen, and by the Monkey King, are you alluding that there are others out there that have been chosen?'

[Well of course, but you are the one or the variable you are the only one with a system, every one else has received an ability from the world itself to survive and try to stay at the top of the food chain with the arrival of the new race called the Homo Malus that you refer to as Zombies- they are beings that can evolve and become strong, smart and infinite.

For this case several beings within this universe have chosen their avatars or rather their warriors to fight against this threat before it becomes too big. And so this is the reason you have been chosen and because you and this world are merely their sources of entertainment.]

[There are others chosen by different beings- however one person you should avoid or at least try to defeat is the Jade Emperor's avatar as your helper is on bad terms with this being- but remember this you are the one – you are anyway carry on.]

Hearing this I was silent as I couldn't say anything as I continued downing the energy drinks before it finished in which I compressed it before chucking it away. After this I began looking for bags of any type preferably something like a ruck sack and knowing this store I headed to another little aisle as I picked up a medium sized ruck sack before I ripped off the stores tags and opened it up.

Swiftly heading to the fridge I took out everything I needed as I poured it into the bag- and then carried it into my bag. I took things which I could actually eat if I heated it and some cans of drink and also some veggies that were still in date.

Knowing my food supply was sorted I began my next range of operations as I needed at least some sort of transport-

'Hey system I was meaning to ask but do you have any way that I can obtain a vehicle to travel easily? Even if it's a lets say crap vehicle- I need one!'

Hearing this it seemed that the system was thinking carefully before it gave it's reply- [Well I can give you a vehicle to travel with if you want to but there is a price and a pretty big one in these early days of survival- you sure you want it?]

'Sure, but seriously I need something to travel on – tell me what you need!'

[Well seeing as how you'll listen I'll tell you… For the next two level up's you won't receive any attribute points as those will be the cost of the machine I will allow you to use- consider it rent if you will dear Jacen.]

'*Sigh, Fine whatever just give me the damn machine so I can get started already whatever your name is...'

[Sure- but call me AT if you will it simplifies things a lot as I do have sentience my dear host.]

'Also how do I use the mini-map?'

[Just imagine a map and you'll see it on the bottom left side of your vision.]

[*Ding- Host has rented a vehicle – To use it his attribute points for the next two levels will be taken by me directly as a form of rent and payment.]

After AT said this suddenly an SUV spawned in front of the store magically as small golden ribbons formed it. It was a dark grey colour as it's size was quite immense and it just looked like, what's the word- yes it was suitable in this world an Off-Road SUV – however it didn't have a brand at all instead it seemed like something that never Existed.

Regardless I headed into the vehicle as soon as I did however- I realised that the inside just did not match the outside it was so much bigger with a damn hob and toilet-shower fitted in it.

The word satisfied was disrespect to what I was given.
