5 Hearing

"Time up, the purple lightning sect would return here once again in 10 years." The old man said to everyone before looking towards those around him, at Sora and the other masked woman.

"go ahead and get ready, we have 10 other cities to go to before turning back towards the sect, so go get ready. it might be 10 years before you return. before the sun sets, meet me at the gate of the city." He said calmly, Sora and the masked woman nodded. along with a kid who managed to light up the orb by 7%.

Sora just nodded before walking off, while walking he fell into deep thoughts about how he would be leveling these skills. [Power] was a skill for strength, the more strength shows the more he could level this skill up.

[Martial arts] was an ability that would improve the more martial arts he used, [Movement] should improve the more he moves. [Endurance] should improve the more stuff he endures. and [hearing] improved the more he hears stuff.

the more skilled and better he shows these skills, the better. Shaking his head, Sora went to buy a few things. as if he was going camping, Sora bought enough stuff which he could use to survive for at least a year.

Sora then went on to run, though this run he didn't just collect many people's attention, at the same time, he began leveling up his [run] sub-abilities. thanks to being at level 1 body tempering, Sora was fast, so he ran at a high speed, quickly leveling up his [Run] sub-abilities to level 2 in only 20 seconds

once this skill leveled up, Sora found that he became more skilled in running. each step Sora took was more skilled, Sora used less energy while running, and each step took him further. Sora moved more than twice as fast yet used the same amount of energy as before.

seeing how fast he leveled up, Sora went on to run until he leveled up [run] to level 4, once this was done, Sora's running speed was unmatched. one step was equal to him taking 10 steps, and he could easily change his path of running and lose little speed and quickly come to a step. it was as if Sora had a powerful movement technique, yet he didn't

Sora also leveled up [Fast] to level 3, this allowed Sora's thinking, movement, and overall speed to be faster. adding this with [Run] which was at level 4,

Sora also leveled up the ability [Slow] each time he came to stop, or entered a state where things seemed to go slow, he gained XP. this skill was at level 2, and this ability allowed Sora to make stuff slow. be it to slow himself down, or slow the world around him to make himself seem fast, it was all around the concept of things going slow.

[Endurance] sub-abilities also leveled up, leveling something up to level 4 took great endurance, at level 1, one needed 10 XP to have an ability reach level 2. to have an ability reach level 3, one needed 100 XP, to reach level 4 one needed 1,000

[Pain Suppression] also went for the type of pain of doing something annoying, Sora can suppress that pain and fight through it. this ability reached level 3

[Performance] reached level 3, allowing Sora to perform at his peak no matter what. no matter how annoying it is, [Performance] allowed him to be at his best.

Lastly, there was [Power], he gained new sub-abilities, [Lifting], to think running would give him this ability. but it made his lifting ability unmatched. Sora could easily lift his legs and put them down, something which was greatly useful.

Sora's lifting capability was also great, be it his technique or the energy used when lifting, no energy was wasted, and he moved to lift something in the best way he could think of. [Lifting] was at level 2,

[Strength] was at level 2, and it also increased his speed as the strength in his legs was high, the many abilities allowed Sora to be more than 5 times faster than those of the same level.

Sora was shocked at the gains he got from simply running, but Sora also found out a few things from this. one was that the higher the level the less XP he would be getting, forcing Sora to show the full capability of skill or else his action would not be enough to get him XP.

For example, if at level one, you were doing something which got you 1 XP every second. once that skill reaches level 2, you doing the same thing would mean you need 10 seconds to get 1 XP, and the time would increase by 10 times with each level,

So, if you want to get the most XP, you should improve upon your former action, making them more skilled and refined. this in return would give you more XP at a shorter rate.

Oh yea, Sora [Hearing] leveled up to level 2, this allows Sora to hear further and clearly, but it's not like Sora was trying to listen, so he might have been able to level this up to level 4 if he tried. which he was of course planning on doing.

well, with all of this done, Sora went on to head toward the City gate, using the knowledge he had gained from running, he added that into his walking. this caused those people on the street to see Sora walking, yet with each step Sora took him more than 2 steps away, giving them the illusion of him running while walking.

Sora's walking ability reached level 2, and in doing Sora, Sora began to realize the mistake he was making while walking. with this, his walking speed seemly got slower, yet faster, making everyone stretch their heads in confusion.

this caused Sora [movement] to reach level 2, and with this, Sora's overall movement capability increased. the resistance he felt while stepping forward took a drop, it was like the air was moving out of Sora's way, allowing him to move smoothly around.

by the time Sora had reached the gate, Sora [Walk] Had reached level 4. with this, Sora [movement] had reached level 3. this allowed Sora's overall movement capability to be something a level 1 body tempering shouldn't be able to do.

with a step, Sora would seemly have teleported 5 steps away, Sora even gained some new ability, at level 1 [movement] making it seem as if the air would move out of his way so it doesn't slow him down. but now, Sora could control that.

meaning, Sora could push off air to move forward, sadly he couldn't use this to jump upwards or something like this, or else he would be able to do things like stepping on air. this was no Qi-based ability, it was only pure skills.

"Good everyone is here." the old man said calmly upon seeing everyone was here, Sora was the last person, but it's not like he was late.

"We are heading the yellow tiger city, which is a city a grade higher than yours. follow me, if you're unable to keep up, just turn around and go back home" He said calmly as he turned and walked off, the group of 4 quickly followed after the old man.

"The name is We He, I have quite a unique position within the sect." Wu He said to the masked woman, the woman looked at him for a second before she walked forward, walking closer to the old man who was speed walking.

Wu He's face darkened slightly seeing this, ever since he returned to the city, he was treated with respect everywhere he went. females threw themselves at him. this was the life he couldn't only dream of within the sect, yet the only woman he had his eyes upon dared to not give him any attention?

His eyes narrowed to a dangerous level while he looked at her, the girl's body shook slightly as if feeling her gaze locking onto her. the old man frowned seeing this, he turned around and gave the young man a warning look. seeing this, Wu He snorted slightly and avoided eye contact.

Sora watched all of this happen, he shook his head slightly before looking towards the other man within the group. he was a kid teen around 14 years old, he had dirty clothing, and hands covered in calluses.

Sora sized him up for some time before his eyes twitched. he began trying to listen in to everyone's footsteps, trying to focus on everyone's steps. back on earth, he saw how people could get information about people to form by simply putting an ear to the ground, Sora wanted to learn to do that.

and as he did, the XP he gained suddenly began to start coming in. it was hard for Sora to walk and do this at the same time. he wanted to close his eyes and simply listen, but he feared he might do something without knowing it. so, he could only listen in, while making sure he stayed at the back of everyone else.

time went by, and a few minutes passed and soon Sora leveled up [Hearing] to level 3, once the skill leveled up, Sora found that everything he was trying to do was easily done. he could close his eyes and listen to everyone's footsteps, an image of how far they could be and the outline of the person walking appeared in his mind.

Seeing as he didn't need his eyes, he closed them and forced them on only using his ears. doing this of course at first was hard, he was so used to using his eyes to see the world, and his other senses acting as support.

but Sora quickly learned and adapted to only using his eyes. luckily he was in the back or else everyone would have been looking at his weird actions, but Sora only needed a few seconds to master this. Sora at first could only see the outline of a person, but as he mastered this he found that he could not only see the outlines,

but he could also see what they are doing with their hands and other stuff, the sound also sent information back to Sora about stuff around him. making Sora able to have a 360-degree image within his made of everything that was happening.

sadly the image was not perfect, the farther away something was, the harder it was for it to appear in his mind. there was also the fact he needed loud sounds to get a better view of the image within his mind, or else it would not be too clear.

to push himself, he had it so that everyone was almost at the edge of the limit of his range, forcing Sora to lock in on them and try his best to see clearly. it was like squinting his eyes, but with hearing, which was something hard to put into words.

the old man frowned slightly as he turned to look toward Sora, everyone was able to keep up, all but Sora who was in the back. but he lived many ears and was sharp, he realized Sora seemed to be walking far back on purpose, he just couldn't put a finger on it. but to be safe, he went on guard. who knows if this brat was working with some evil force, and wanted to ambush them?

his XP skyrocketed, and 30 minutes later, Sora leveled up [Hearing] to level 4, with his improvement, Sora's limited range grew. to his shock, the image within his mind grew, covering tens of kilometers. he could near a person's muscle movement, allowing him to make out the emotion they could be making and other stuff

Sora stepped forward, Sora easily caught up to the group, the masked woman and the young man had fallen to the back, and their legs were killing them. walking for over 30 minutes, and at a fast rate to keep up with the old man was not easy. this killed their legs,

Sora walked up to the masked woman, the woman turned to look at Sora slightly. She looked towards Sora, but her eyes raised when she saw Sora had his eyes closed. she was slightly confused before she thought of something. did he not want to see her eyes or something? shaking her head, she ignored Sora.

'I can't hear the movement of her facial muscles... whatever, I should learn to read a person's movement from the movement of their muscles. I should also start reading a person's heart, allowing me to be a lie detector.' Sora thought as he began to do just that, as he focused on reading her muscles movement.

and gain, time flashed back, the masked woman was looking at Sora the whole time. annoyed at the fact that Sora can so easily keep up with her, without even trying. Sora was younger than her, yet she was falling behind so much.

with thoughts like this, she pushed through the pain to keep up with the old man. the old man seeing this had a slight smile, two talents should push each other. but he was more confused with Sora, why did he fall back only to rush up to keep up with everyone else? did he want to flex or something?

well, Sora soon leveled up [Hearing] to level 5, by then it was dark and they were looking for a place to sit and rest for the night. at level 5, Sora's hearing reached a new level. where he can hear things such as spirits, along with stuff like colors, and best of all a person's thoughts.

but to listen to a person's thoughts Sora would stop everything he is doing and put everything he had onto a target. Sora found that he could even read the mind of the old man unless one mind could resist then Sora could hear everyone's thoughts.

the mind was a tricky thing, techniques that could defend against mind attacks or even attack the mind were extremely rare. so, it was safe to say, that many people Sora would stumble upon would have their mind defense for Sora to hear all of their thoughts
