7 Part-time?

The 800 yen used for 'dinner' could've lasted Lin Wu for at least two days had he bought ingredients instead.

But he doesn't know how to cook.

He's quite good at cooking instant noodles though.

Boil water, throw in noodles, open the provided packets, throw stuff inside.

Truth be told, he had no idea how he's getting by in Home Economics. No one would be partners with him ever since that one incident, so perhaps he's getting by through the grace of the beautiful, stoic white hair tanned skin teacher. Maybe he should join the cooking club, 'she's the sponsor for that club after all...'

Or perhaps he could just part-time and get money for the food that way? It'll certainly help in increasing his nonexistent purchasing power.

'Ahhhh, the coffee maker is on sale...' The impulsive buyer noticed as he scrolled through the Amazone discount section. 'I really want it... Look at its state-of-the-art technology with its professional color scheme... I'd shame my parents of both lives if I don't get it...'

'I don't drink coffee though.'

He started closing multiple tabs of different coffee maker models before he suddenly stopped. 'Wait, but my seniors back in the original world all drank coffee nonstop after they went to Tsinghua University. I think I might need it for when I go to college. This is like an early investment!'

Lin Wu had studied nonstop for the 'National College Entrance Examination' and had gotten a score good enough that'll land him in a top tier university which meant that jobs would be looking for him instead of the other way around.

'Instead of being a freshman in university, I'm a freshman in high school!'

All that studying went to waste!

Well, not really, since the materials that he had crammed could be used for high school.

Lin Wu had to admit that he barely remember them though.

'But it's not my fault! Everyone is like this! We study for a test and then forget everything afterward...'

He then returned to the top-selling coffee maker page on Amazone...

'But it's 50% off, how often does a deal like this come?' Lin Wu reasoned to himself. If only he had known that the price had increased by 50% and then 'discounted' by 50%, then he would've had a completely different perspective on the matter.

'Wait, I've already used up my monthly allowance! I should be thinking about a part-time job!' He started to think of the stores nearby.

After all, it wasn't guaranteed that he'd get into the Hero Association's internship program!

"Why don't I work in a cafe?" He said to himself as he cycled through various options.

He powered off the monitor and looked at his reflection on the screen.

His looks aren't good, but he doesn't look like an ugly bastard either!

If anything, he looks like the perfect background character! Not a side character, but a background character!

His short black hair, his dark brown eyes, his average height...

"Damn do I look plain." He smugly smiled as he appreciated his appearance.

'Wait.' He stopped.

'Don't a good chunk of anime characters work in cafes? What if I had the 'stoic classmate working in an embarrassing cafe' encounter? Or even the 'poor tsundere' working in cafe encounter?! Also, isn't the cafe also a hub for drama?!'

"Ehhh, I'll just work in the convenience store, nothing happens there!" If he was going to earn minimum wage, then he might as well do minimum work!

"When was I this smar—," Lin Wu turned towards Kuoh Academy as he then angled his left ear in it's direction before his eyes narrowed, "They're finalising the plan to recruit Issei? Hoh, interesting, they're waiting on Narut—Natsumi."

As long as Issei doesn't bring his girlfriend 'Yuuma' near this area for their little 'date', then he wouldn't care. It wasn't like Issei was actually going to 'die.' Well, it wasn't like 'Yuuma' was dumb enough to kill Issei in the street where the 'Tornado of Terror' lives.

'And I really don't want to deal with Issei after that misunderstanding.' He shook his head as he remembered the particular incident that got himself a bad reputation.

Plus, he just wanted to live a carefree life so unless something, or someone, impeded his a way of life, then he wouldn't interfere.

And if it does obstruct him, "I'll just burn the bridge when I get to it." Lin Wu said nonchalantly.

Since the monitor was already powered off, he might as well turn off the computer as well and go to sleep. Despite it being only 08:00 PM, after the encounter with the two women, he was mentally drained.

As he closed the door and got on the bed, he felt as if something was off.

After staring at the ceiling in the darkroom for about two minutes, he got up!

"I forgot to do the history homework!"

As soon as he got up, he got back down!

"It's just one assignment; it's not like the old man will be replaced with a sudden mean transfer teacher that suddenly happened to be someone I know scold me for not doing homework, it doesn't work like that, plus the old man is super nice."

Lin Wu closed his eyes.

Then he immediately started snoring!

-----------------------------------------------------------------

In the dimly lit streets of the upper-class residential district, a petite green hair girl floated to the two-floor house. She pointed at the door and the door opened by itself.

The girl shook her head at the ease of the door unlocking as she went inside the kitchen and to the fridge.

"Huh? Is he out of strawberry milk too? Why is his fridge just as empty as his brain?"

This invader is his neighbour, Tatsumaki!

"Did he really eat everything inside like Pig God? I really need to talk to him about his habits ever since they passed away." Tatsumaki frowned as she quickly pulled out her phone and started calling someone.

"Yes, Lady Tatsumaki? There are currently no monster sight—"

"Restock a refrigerator for me with the highest class of pre-made food."

"Of course, is it the same place as last time?"

"Yes."

"Forgive me for being presumptuous, but we don't need a key, yes?"

Tatsumaki sighed, "The silly idiot never locks his door."

She started floating upstairs, waiting outside his room. She prepared herself mentally as the door knock was covered in a green aura before slamming open!

"Li—," Tatsumaki immediately realized that the lights were off, and turned towards the bed before letting out a small smile, "At least he's sleeping early for once if only Fubuki would do the same. She's starting to form an organization if I remember correctly..."

Tatsumaki sighed as she used her psychokinesis on the blanket that was somehow on the floor and gently covered him with it, even buttoning up his pyjamas for him.

As Tatsumaki floated out of the room, she smiled mysteriously at the door plack with the name "Lin Wu" written poorly in green crayons.

"This is the least I can do after that happened," she said to herself before turning to the room next to his.

"And why is he using my old room as a storage room for weird items?! Don't we have a basement?!"
