Ch 6: First Pokemon

Today is my tenth birthday and I'm having a party at my dad's lab. After the party, I'll get my starter Pokemon as a gift.

This is one of the reason it's inside my dad's lab the other reason is because of last time I had a party outside, I had all the kids play hide-and-seek and we never returned to the adults so they had to look for us all day long. It didn't help that I made it more difficult by getting the kids to move all over the place. That was also the last time I had a party outside.

Well, let's get back to the party right now in my dad's lab other than my parents there's my friends, neighbors, and my dad's lab assistants who I am close to. The party's theme is based off Johto Elite Four, it's normal for kids my age to idolize the Elite Four and I do to but seeing people dress up and act like them is a bit odd.

My friends and I can tell they aren't the real deal but we don't say anything about it because of the little kids at the party.

The party isn't bad but I'm being followed around by an adult at all times. This was something the adults deemed important as they don't want me to corrupt their children at any moment.

I don't know how they got to that conclusion but if I could I would have done it already. After all, corrupting them would gain me a lot of SP.

During the party, my friends keep asking me what Pokemon will I get and I keep telling them it's a surprise.

It will be a surprise to me as well, my parents don't want me to choose because they think the Pokemon I chose will be used for my pranks. They have a point as I use their Pokemon to do that most of the time. I wonder why their Pokemon follow my plans? They are my parents Pokemon shouldn't they stop me not help me?

So that why! No wonder they sometimes help me every when I didn't ask them. Well, I wonder what they'll do when the pokemon I will get backfires on them.

Not long after I was speaking with the system my parents came out with a cake. It seems that it's time to end the party. They can't let me have a long one, after all, I might do something.

When everyone saw the cake they start singing.

Everyone: "Happy Birthday to you, we hope you have many more, Happy Birthday to you, we hope you grow stronger, Happy Birthday to you, we hope you grow wise, Happy Birthday to you, John!"

That's a lame song. Well, I need to blow out the candles.

*Beep* (Host is now ten. Host has unlocked [Quest] function.) *Beep*

Oh, I forgot about that.

Mom: "Son happy birthday as you are 10 you can now have your first Pokemon."

After my mom said that she brought out a Pokeball from her pocket. After giving me the Pokeball I touched the button at the center of the ball a red light flashed out of it, and a shiny Riolu came out. The Riolu after seeing me jump from its s spot and landed on my lap hugging me not letting me go.

*Beep* (Host has got his first Pokemon, [Hidden Quest] complete. Host earned [Any-Type Remover], [Lottery Draw], [10,000 SP].) *Beep*

Did I finish a quest? How do they work again?

*Beep* ([Quest]s can't be seen in the [Quest] window when they are inactive until you meet a requirement to activate them. [Hidden Quest]s active randomly are sometimes you never know you completely one until you have.) *Beep*

Oh, okay. Well let's get back to the party I can't be spacing out too long.

John: "I'm surprised that you gave me a shiny Pokemon it also seems to like me."

Mom: "I know she was one of the Riolu that the school was giving away as a substitute starter. As Riolus know to be well behaved, loyal, and righteous so I choose it and being shiny was a plus."

My mom seems proud of her choice.

Dad: "Now now honey that's enough. Let me give him my gift. Son your mom wanted to give you a Pokemon but I'll give you an egg. It will be a surprise what it will hatch into later because I don't even know."

The allure of mystery is it. System what is it?

*Beep* (From the scans the egg is of a Normal-Type Pokemon.) *Beep*

Not telling me what it is?

*Beep* (Not enough data on the egg to tell just the type can be found.) *Beep*

John: "Thanks, mom! Thanks, dad!"

After getting putting the egg to the side I started to open the presents from the other guest one by one and giving my thanks.

I even got a gift from Oak, it was a Pokedex blueprint with a note.

Happy birthday John my boy. I would have like to come and visit to attend your birthday party but couldn't at the moment sorry about that.

To make it up I sent you the blueprints for a Pokedex. I could have sent you an already made Pokedex but I thought with that mind of your you'll like to make one of your own.

I'll try to make it to next year but don't hold me to my words. I would also enjoy it if you could come and visit me in the future.

Maybe later, I should put away the gifts. Getting up from my chair I notice my shiny Riolu is still hugging me it seems to have fallen asleep. I'll put it back into its Pokeball for now.

After putting away the gifts in my room I called Riolu out.

Once it left its Poke Ball it jumped at me once more.
