While looking around the bushes close to the falling stream of water from the river, I found several medicinal herbs we've been gathering together. I uprooted them one by one then placed them inside the small bag.
"1 2 3 4... 10. I guess I'll just wait for Yunyun."
I sat on top of a rock while waiting for my companion.
Few minutes later.
*Rustle* *Rustle*
"Haru-kun!"
The bushes moves and Yunyun showed up with a lot of medicinal herbs in her arms.
"Yunyun, I told you to take what we only need. We're required bring twenty pieces to the adventurer's guild."
She became flustered because of my tone which surprised her.
"Eh! Umm... Sorry, I just want to make sure we get the exact number--"
"I see, you don't trust me." I said playing dejected.
She thought that I won't get the exact number so, she taken more to compensate if I didn't get enough herbs.
"It's not like that, I just..."
Yunyun became sad, not knowing to how to respond to me which caused her to panic. She's not used on having friends.
I just sighed and smiled at her.
"Leave it be. Let's go back now." I stood up.
"I'm sorry, Haru-kun. I'll just plant it back."
"You don't have to. It's going to be dark soon."
After putting all the herbs on the bag, we checked everything if we left something.
"Alright, let's go back to Axel."
"Okay..."
I held her hand and she was surprised.
"Huh?"
Her face became red.
"What's wrong?"
"Ha-Ha-Haru-kun, yo-you're hand."
"Of course, we're gonna use teleport to go back."
"Eh?"
"Okay, hold on. Teleport!"
Magic circle appeared below our feet and in an instant, we arrived under the tree near the town.
"Haha! This magic is really convenient."
"Uhmm... Haru-kun..."
She looks very embarrassed.
I let go of her hand then she turned around while holding her own hand.
"Do you feel uncomfortable? I'm sorry..."
"Wait, Haru-kun! It's not like I dislike it. It just that..."
"Hahaha! Don't think too much about it, Yunyun. We're friends. If you wanted, you can hold my hands with me whenever you want. I don't really mind if it's you."
"Uhmm..."
Yunyun became silent but it seems like she was happy about it.
"Let's go."
I walked ahead then Yunyun followed after me to the town with a smile.
"Yes!"
We came back to the adventurer's guild and report about the quest. We received the reward and split the money between two of us.
"Here."
I place the small bag of coins in her hands.
"Thank you..."
"Let's take another quest tomorrow, Yunyun. This time, I want to go out hunting with you!"
I felt excited going on another quest with her.
"Uhmm... Sorry, Haru-kun but I have something else to do tomorrow."
I froze when she rejected me.
"Heh."
(Did I upset her or something?)
Seeing me being downhearted, she was surprised and quickly gave me her reason.
"Wait, Haru-kun! It's not like that!"
While fidgeting, she explained to me with shy tone.
"I have this person that I'm worried about and I will visit her tomorrow to check on how she's doing."
Hearing that, I already have the idea whom she's talking about and it was the little girl who loves explosion magic and she's a Crimson Demon just like Yunyun. Unfortunately, her chest size is pitiful.
"Okay, then you have to make up for me today. Treat me some delicious food."
"If you're fine with that... let's eat together."
Yunyun bought me some foods and drinks then we had dinner while talking about our adventure today. We had fun having each other's company and we had a toast together as other adventurer's joins in the party. I want to drink some beer from this world but Yunyun might get jealous because I'm in the right age to drink alcohol according from this world.
After the party in the adventurer's guild, I walked home with Yunyun who seems to be already sleepy then I sent her to her room. Going into my own room, I took off my outer shirt then jumped straight to the bed and lie down which within few minutes, I fell asleep quickly.

Morning arrives, waking up from the singing birds just outside my windows as sunlight passed through the space of my slightly opened window. I yawned, looking around my silent room which is Yunyun usually comes to wake me up every morning. I felt a little lonely when she is not here with me today. I went out of my bed then check the position of the sun outside the window. My cheek twitched realizing that I overslept because I relied to much on Yunyun on waking up. I have to practice myself again from waking up early. I wasn't like this in my past life because of my early part time jobs that requires me to wake up earlier than sunrise. Meeting Yunyun has changed my body clock because I want her to wake me up every morning.
Walking outside my room after fixing my outfit, I went to Yunyun's room and knocked at her door.
"Yunyun, are you still there?"
After long silence of no response, I already know she went to visit her rival or something.
"I guess I'll go on a quest by myself."
Arriving at the Adventurer's guild, I went to look at the quest board and tried to some decent job quest. I noticed that there's no more easy quest like medicinal herbs or Horn Rabbit hunting. Most of quest here are ridiculous and high level quest.
"Hmmm..."
I saw a quest with a sketch of a giant monster with large horns on the head. The reward is good the monster looks very dangerous.
"Killing the Tusk Monster and the reward 5,000,000 Eris... Not bad. I can take down this monster but it need several days preparation by myself."
There's a quest for slaying Manticore and Gryphon and each monster's rewards are huge amount.
"As for Manticore and Gryphon, it's totally impossible for me right now."
"Oh, and the reason?"
"It hard to kill monster which can fly. I can kill the monster but there's a chance that I'll lose my life so, I don't want to risk it."
I realized that I answered to someone, standing on my side which I didn't notice.
"Huh?"
Turning to my side, a young girl with large witch hat and eye patch on her left eye was standing next to me. She has shoulder-length dark brown hair and crimson-colored eyes. Her outfit which I'll never forget, a classical witch attire such as a black cloak with gold border, choker, wizard's hat, fingerless gloves, and carries a black staff. Looking at her cleavage from the side, I can barely see something but I'm already fully aware she's flat--
*Swoosh!*
I immediately leaned backwards and avoided her staff when she suddenly swung it to me.
"Hey!"
(Yeah, there's no mistake. She's Megumin from Kazuma's Party.)
"You think I wouldn't notice? Your eyes are staring at my breast!"
"Breast? Where?"
I looked around the place which mocked her even more.
"Damn you!"
"Megumin!"
A disappointing young girl came to stop her from attacking me. She has light blue hair and eyes wearing a sleeveless dark-blue vest with white trimmings, a short dark blue miniskirt. I became more disappointed seeing her more beautiful this close to me.
"Listen to me, this guy is mocking me! He really pissed me off! Let me beat him up!"
"Stop creating a commotion here, Megumin!"
"It's to early! What's wrong over there?"
A young man wearing an adventurer outfit consisting of a gold-trimmed green mantle, white shirt, pants, and leather boots appeared behind them while scratching the back of his head.
(Yeah, it's pretty obvious. He's Kazuma. He already had a bad reputation around here.)
"Kazuma! This guy!"
Megumin pointed at me which furrowed Kazuma's eyebrow when he saw my face.
"Yeah, he pissed me off too."
Instead calming things down, he joined them too.
I just sighed then ripped off the Tusk monster slaying quest from the board. I walked passed them, going to the counter to accept the quest.
"Wait! Are you really going by yourself?"
Megumin was surprised and asked me.
"Yeah."
I gave the quest to Luna then she became worried.
"Haru, I think this quest is too much."
"No, I'll be fine. Unlike Beginner's bane, that monster looks slow. I'll be back in a week."
"Okay..."
Luna accepted the quest and she stamped on it. She gave me all the information about the quest then I left the counter. She still looks worried about me I including the other staff of the guild.
"Please return safely."
Megumin tried to block my path and continue to argue with me but I don't have time for that. I have to prepare for my mission.
"Hey! We're not finished--"
<<Teleport>>
I teleported and disappeared in front of her.
Megumin blinked twice in surprised.
"Heh."
