EMPRESS ZHI RUO.

I looked up at the moon thinking back to the past. Here I was in an abandoned palace with no one to turn to and no one to help me. Wang Lei, the man I once loved but now I've grown to hate.

Chang Ying the person I took as my sister but then she betrayed me. These two people I hate both of them with passion. I looked at the two white jade pendants in my hand. Tears rolled down my eyes.

My two children. I remember everything clearly. I was once the most beloved daughter of the minister of rites household. I feel in love with Wang Lei thinking he loved me I married him and used up all my family power to help him ascend the throne.

We were happy little did I know it was all a facade. He took in a consort I didn't mind because she was my sworn sister. Two years into power I gave birth to twins. Chang Ying also gave birth to a son.

He moved me to Yuanxi palace and moved her to Xichen palace. I thought of it as nothing until he gave her son crown prince. My two children he disposed them. He didn't even let me mourn them.

"His majesty arrives." I heard a eunuch's announcement. I dried my tears and turned to see him walking in with his majestic dragon robes along with Chang Ying and a few other eunuchs. One eunuch was carrying a tray of wine.

"So you have decided to finally dispose me like you did to our children." I said with a bitter smile.

"Empress Zhi Ruo you have been tested and charged guilty for adultery. Seeing as you were my once beloved wife I will grant you and easy death by poisoned wine." He said.

I gave him a skeptic look before bursting into laughs. "Wang Lei, so this is how you will kill me by false accusations. Wow you have really thought of everything. I will drink the wine not to admit my crimes but to finally be free of you." I said and took the wine and drained it. I felt pain through my entire being.

I spit out a mouthful of blood and fell to the ground. I looked up at him with hatred and pain. "Wang Lei, I regret the day I fell in love with you. If only I would be given a chance I would do everything in my power to make sure you fall." I said and fell.

The moment Zhi Ruo fell to the ground thunder struck. "Set the place in fire." Wang Lei ordered coldly.

"Zhi Ruo, we saw your suffering you will be given a chance." A voice said. Slowly Zhi Ruo regained consciousness. She looked around as tears rolled down her eyes. She was back to five years before everything happened.

"Wang Lei, heaven has given me a chance. I will destroy you once and for all." She swore.
