3 Chapter 3 : Coffee & Her

The feather on my charm got caught on my bag's zipper as I tried to take out my wallet. Uh, so much for stupid art work, it was better to handle as a chain rather than a bracelet. When I finally untangled it from the zipper, I accidentally spilt somebody's coffee person in front .

"Sorry" I told her.

"Your sorry is not gonna bring me back my coffee." She was totally pissed off. Must be a caffeine addict, that can't function without a cup of coffee.

I would have given a equally rude answer if I wasn't caught off guard by the fact that I couldn't hear her thoughts. The words that came out of her mouth and the thoughts were perfectly synced. So for the first time I was hearing somebody talk and not their thoughts. I could actually hear her voice first. To say that I was surprised would be an understatement.

"There is no way that I'm gonna stay in that line again. I want a Caramel Frappuccino without whipped cream. I will just wait over that table" she walked off to sat in one of those tables near to a corner facing outside. I ordered my iced coffee and her Caramel Frap. I couldn't help but choose two chocolate muffins to go with it" when I walked back there, I caught a bit of her thoughts.

'I got to submit those papers ASAP so that I can focus on shifting my things to the new place. I guess I will buy a plant, as a housewarming gift for myself.' I read her thoughts.

So I can read it after all. Guess she is one of those loose heads that have the talent to spout everything off their mind without thinking. An air head, how disappointing... You aren't that special. I signed while sitting down on the same table.

"So you new here?" I started with the obvious question. She looked annoyed to be questioned and just took her coffee. After a bit of awkward silence she answered.

"Yeah. And you shouldn't have bought those muffins, I was trying to keep myself away from sugar for a bit long. And I apologise for my behaviour earlier, I get crappy if I don't get coffee into my system" she answered.

She drained her coffee fast, "So how long will you be in Okla town for?" I asked her hurriedly.

Her eyes shoot up for a bit. Then a lopsided smile appeared. "Look, I have been feared by most people because of my blunt character and the deeper insight on a person's character. I can kind of read a person's mind. So don't even try flirting, it's not gonna work. I'm gonna be here in this town for 2 months atmost. I was placed here for my teacher's training period. So yeah, that's about all I can give away as my personal info. So, bye" She said and got up.

Ah... The irony of the thing she said about mind reading. I couldn't help but smile. "You can't read me, even if you end up doing a contract with devil himself." I told her, taunting a bit. It's always fun to play with air heads.

"What's so complicated about you? You are just a carefree guy with absolutely no care about the outside world. And loves playing around with girls. I saw you, arguing with that girl near the entrance. What was she, your 15th break-up? A piece of advice, you are never getting settled until you fix that character of yours that make girls feel insecure." she waved me goodbye after placing her share of bill.

That sure took me by surprise again. Her words sure did hit me hard, cause they were absolute blunt truth. And there was no other inner thoughts contradicting speech when she spoke it. I read her wrong, nothing about her is ordinary. Every word she say are sharp weapons that can either miss you or cut you.

I sincerely want to pursue her. That's it. I'm gonna make you mine. I got up as fast as I could, walking fast to catching up to her.

"So where are you gonna go after this?" I asked her.

"None of your business" the expected answer came. Well I wasn't targetting for that one, was I?

'Once I submit my papers in Hilton School, I'm free for the day. That is until those shifters bring in my things for moving into the apartment. They did message me explaining some kind of delay. Guess I will just spend my free time in a book store.'

The walls on her thoughts ripped open one by one infront of me, helplessly.

"Fine goodbye then. Till we meet again. And next time let me pay for you" I told her omniously with a goofy smile, turning towards my car. After all, nobody can file a case for stalking your mind. I chuckled at my childish thought.

"Not gonna happen, we are never gonna cross again." she challenged.

"Since you are so confident that we will never meet again, tell me something before you go, what is your name, dear coffee addict? I'm Kylo Carson, by the way."

"Ellie Ardon" she said with a twinkle in her eyes.

Well I have destiny to create, co-incidences to plan for and surprises to lay as bait. I have one hell of a honey trap laid out for you girl and there is no way you are escaping it. When I have got your mind as a guidebook.
