1 Train Ride

On a breezy night in Tokyo, Shibuya Station, the moonlight shined onto the train tracks, leaving a heavenly reflection. Me and my father, Okimi Hasegawa, We're waiting for a late train back to Kamakura, from a business trip. Even though it's already the early summer, it's usually pretty light outside even after hours.

As we heard our train coming, I tiredly stood up rubbing my eye. `Ah, it's finally here!` my father shot up and hurried to the train. After my father paid for the tickets, we went to sit down. Just before the doors closed, a young girl rushed on.

`Just in time. Thanks. `

We looked at her, confused. I turned to my father and he was already fast asleep. ` Oto-San?` he always falls asleep easily.

I noticed that the girl sat in front of us. She looks younger than me, maybe 3 – 5 years younger. `Hey. Did you come alone? ` I tried to seems friendly but she looked frightened. `I didn't mean to scare you! I mean it's pretty late and dark outside. `

`I came to visit my mother. Do you know her..?`

She sounded pretty tired. Like she hasn't slept in a couple days. `No I don't know her, but are you sure it's alright to be walking around late at night alone? ` she slowly nods. I don't know about this girl, something seems off. `What's your name? If you don't mind me asking, of course. `

Nakano. Hotaru Nakano.

No, I've heard of her name somewhere. But I've never seen her before. I don't recognize her from anywhere. Her mother worked at my father's business a year ago. Sakura Chikafuji. That was her name.

Her mother. Died in a car accident 2 years ago. Does she know about it? Maybe I should just tell her.

`hey. Hotaru-Chan. I think I've heard about your mother. `

`Really?! Do you know where she is? `

N..no... Maybe I shouldn't tell her. Its better if she found out herself. She doesn't seem to know.

`I don't know where she is, but she worked at my father's business a year ago. `

`Oh... She told me she was going out to finish some tasks. `

I heard it was a pretty bad accident. I don't know if Hotaru was around when it happened but she would have also died.

`Hotaru, did your mother ever call you after she went? `

`No..? What? Did something happen to her?!` She quickly shot up and walked towards me.

`I. I don't know...`

She doesn't know a thing about what happened to her mother does she.

`huh. ` My father grumbled. `Oh, it's her. ` Hey. `

He seems to know her? ` Oto-San, you remember her mother, right?

`ohm, her~, I remember working with her, yes. `

i got closer to him and whispered in his ear. `you remember the news. She died from a car accident. `

`.. yeah. Wait. Don't tell me she's her daughter...! ` he looked surprised. he stood up and went to the bathroom. `I'll be right back. `

Does he know something? Something must be off about her since father was. Feeling nauseous?
