17 Spontaneity - 1

"I owe you 50 pesos." I can't help but bite my lower lip to stop myself from grinning from this inside joke. I was right. Dominic's teacher did not show up to his class. Again.

"What did I told you? Haha." I wanna hit myself for smiling too much over this text. My heart just had a full gymnastic routine.

"You win. Wanna grab dinner? ;)" I rolled over after seeing his message. Should I scream? I feel hot from this sudden rush of hormones! What the hell? Casper told me about this. You have to wait for a couple of minutes before replying. In that way, he would not see it like you're so into him.

I sat down on the edge of the bed, trying to slow down my heart rate. Too much of this could not be great for my health. I stared at the clock, which was hung on my wall near my vanity mirror.

Counting each click of the second hand. Once it hit the two-minute mark, I slowly typed my reply.

"What's the occasion?" I don't sound flirty with that reply, right?

The palms of my hands are starting to get sweaty. Damn! When was the last time I had this kind of feeling? Probably when I had my first kiss with my high school crush? That was the weirdest first kiss experience story, but let's not talk about it. Maybe some other time.

I decided to hop on to my Facebook timeline while I waited for his reply and to calm myself. But not too long from when I sent the message, my phone buzzed again.

"I want to celebrate my birthday with you, even though it's kind of late. And I kind of owe you dinner from the bet. So two birds with one stone?" I chuckled at his reply. He doesn't need to take it to heart, but welp! Free dinner for me then.

"Free dinner! I'm in!"

"Where's your apartment? I'll get you." I really can't get used to this weird thing on my stomach whenever he replies. It's making a squeezing and churning motion inside, and I feel tingles at the tips of my fingers. Is that normal? Or should I visit the doctor already?

I sent him a full description of my apartment complex and what he needs to ride if just in case he's commuting. After sending the direction, I rushed to my closet to see what I should wear.

Although my sheets are fresh from dry cleaning, most of my clothes are still in for laundry. I only have a small number of wardrobe to choose from. If you raid my closet, most of my clothes are in neutral colors such as grey, white, and black. I do wear jeans, shorts, and skirts but nothing to fancy. It's not that we can't afford to buy, but I just feel like I look good with these colors.

Also, if we are going to talk about design and patterns, I am obsessed with stripes. Anything stripes will catch my attention. It makes me feel smaller and hides my extra fat on the belly region well. You know what I'm talking about.

I'm in a rush to give too much thought about what to wear, I can call Casper for help, but I don't have much time before he comes. The school is quite near my apartment already, and Dominic could be here in 5 minutes.

Whatever! I grabbed a red and black striped sweatshirt and paired it with the only available black shorts that I have.

I surveyed my reflection before brushing my hair lightly with my fingers. I fixed my glasses and grabbed my black drawstring bag where I put my wallet, phone, and an umbrella. You'll never know when it rains. Right?

When it comes to shoes, I only have a few of my go-to. I mean, I had a lot of shoes at home, but I always use these regardless. I can't live without a black, a white, and a red lowcut Converse shoes, and my white Adidas superstar shoes.

I was conflicted about what to wear, and I need to decide right away. I'm so bad at rushing decisions.

I just grabbed whatever was nearest, which was my white Converse shoes.

I took a deep breath before getting out of my apartment and locking the door. I walked at the stairs while hearing my heartbeat pounding my eardrums. I clenched my hands and held my phone close to my heart.

I checked my phone for any notification, and there was still none. I got out of the complex. I stood near where most of the commuters would stand when getting in and out of the taxis.

I looked at the time, and it was already 7:24 in the evening. Still no text. My anxiety is off the roof now. Maybe Dominic was just playing with me, and I'm just getting pranked? Maybe, I should wait for another 2 minutes. I don't like waiting too much because my mind would wander elsewhere, and I would think of countless things already.

I heaved a sigh before looking at my phone. I could not hide my disappointment. It's not like I was looking forward to it. However, as much as possible, I would like to have another experience where I feel betrayed and played on.

I decided to put my phone in my bag and walk back to my apartment.

A sudden voice sent a jolt of electric shock throughout my body.

"Where do you think you're going?"

I looked at where the voice came from, and there he was 6 foot 2 and flashing a teasing smile.

"You thought I'd bail on you?" He teased again. I rolled my eyes in response and smiled.

"I'm not that patient, you know?" He chuckled at my reply.

"Oh, trust me, Andi, I will not let you go nowhere but with me."

He grinned and handed his hand at me as if asking me to hold it. Should I?
