8 Chapter 8 Kill List

They did make a party that night while Boris look more gloomy than ever. Lucis didn't join them that night and stay inside his house recuperating his injury.

From the villagers point of view, the claw mark on Lucis body look horrible but it actually just shallow cut. He got worse during the 4 months marathon.

The villagers make an understanding nod and didn't force the issue for him to make an appearance. in fact, they glad he didn't join. he scared them.

Just like that. 3 more days pass which Lucis never step out from his mud house.

The villagers is grateful for him and give him a gift. They even repair his broken door and make a small fireplace in his already small house.

Now he have bed and blanket. He have a place he can cook and some utensils for his own use. If not for how small his house are, they even want to add some furniture.

The next day Lucis wake up more energetic than ever.

"these days I got meat for every meal." he look at his body that previously skinny, now look a bit more healthy. In fact, even Elder Dun and Dini look a bit more healthy than their previous skinny body.

The sun just barely shine on the horizon and the villagers mostly still sleeping at the moment.

He take out the green jade and stare at it. These day he's been studying the wood type cultivation technique and considering if he should go out and find a different method. In the end he choose the one he only have at the moment.

"I'm barely 60 drop of energy now. According to this technique, I can shaping my meridian when I have 100 drop, but just to be sure, I should absorb more.. at least 200 drop" he close his eyes and began meditating using the green wood technique.

Usually, when one have 70 drop of energy, they can start shaping their meridian but some people just have too poor talent and they need to absorb a huge amount before they manage to proceed to the next stage.

When one absorbing too many energy, after building their foundation, proceeding further stage will require a lot more energy than the other people. This is why staying in early realm for too long is not recommend unless they're not cultivating.

But at the same time, the more energy one absorb, the more powerful one foundation are. After building their foundation, the core will start forming and this process take a lot more time that some people simply gave up and settled with half finish core in their body focusing strength instead of upgrading realm.

Forming a core require a lot if energy, they spend most of their time cultivating to speed this process and once the core is formed. They're officially core cultivator and for magician, this is when they're officially known as magician that deserves respect throughout the land.

Most people simply settled with apprentice magician or foundation cultivator since most of them didn't live long enough to finish building their core. Unlike beast, once their body start absorbing energy, their life span getting longer and and longer the more their absorb. Actually, they're the only species that get their core forming fast and easy than the other.

Beast and monster that have core in their body is officially call stage 3 monster in this world. Stage 2 monster core is widely sold throughout the land but not that popular since it's only half form core.

Lucis meditate until 8am using the green wood technique but didn't manage to form any extra drop energy in his body. He would continue but Dini arrived with breakfast and interrupt him.

Dini serve the meat porridge and sit on the stool looking at Lucis like he's some kind of an animal in the zoo. If not for how Lucis look at Dini like a small kid, he would be feeling awkward as he ate the porridge.

"Erm, Dini." Lucis look at her shining eyes like a morning river.

"can I ask you a favor?"

"anything, just tell me." her smile getting wider and wider as she look at Lucis.

"oh.. Okay... can you ask around the village if there's anyone that have furnace." he thought about start doing some alchemy. Combining with science logic, the process is not as hard as the novel describe it.

"cauldron?" Dini look down and frown. Their village is so poor that every metal object have been melt down for farming tool or sold out.

"I'll pay it, whatever the price they want." Lucis though for a moment, he still have a couple gold coin in his jacket.

"I think Luna family have one, at least I think so." he remembers elder Moon that have a pond near their house with ton of carp. They sell carp as their income and Luna is the only girl in the village that doesn't have to work in the field or barn since she only take care of the fish.

"I'll help you ask them if they're willing to sell it." she's didn't bother about any formalities, she stand up and ran outside quickly.

"this kid... " Lucis shake his head looking at Dini childish behavior.

"I can only focus on alchemy if I want to speed up my cultivation." he murmured and put away the bowl in his hand.

He turn around and look at his stylistly tattered jacket and shake his head again. He like the jacket a lot. It make him look cool and mysterious but now half if it gone after elder wicken blast him with fire mixed with lightning. That's the closest to death he ever been before.

He check the pocket and took out all the coin in there and put his jade back in it.

"the so call convenient ring storage or bag of holding.. Is that thing even exist here?" he lamenting his fate, all the stuff he have is stored in that black jacket. He really want those magical storing stuff. Sadly, even his yellow jade doesn't mention any if those stuff.

He open his hand and look at the coin in his hand. It's 5 gold and 12 silver coin. He's too poor even among the newbie cultivator. At least they have magic stone that worth 100 gold.

"now that I think about it again, I think only 10 of my magic stone used up when the teleport is activated. Does that mean 4 if those now belongs to elder wicken.." he suddenly getting angry after thinking about it.

Not only he's running for his life for 4 months without stop turning him near zombie state, he even pay the person chasing him 4 magic stone.. The more he thought about it the angrier he got.

"I swear I'm gonna kill him one day, he's in my top list of must kill!" he punch the dirt. The white wolf took second place so far.

While he's still planning his revenge, Dini came back looking happier than before.

"Lucis, they're willing to sell it."

"Hm, great." Lucis look at Dini and give her a faint smile.

"elder moon said, you should go there to look at the item first. I look at it but it's look too old and rusty."

"that doesn't matter, let's go." Lucis stand up and follow Dini. He have the method of upgrading or fixing material from the yellow jade so he didn't really bother about it. He could use pot but it's too thin and he's not that good controlling fire at the moment. Furnace is designed with the purpose for balance heat control.
