4 Chapter 4 6 color jade
3 day pass by quickly. Except for the elder or Dini, no one saw Lucis, he stay indoor all the time meditating.
Except for greeting, Dini never start a conversation to Lucis. She just didn't know how to start a conversation against a person like Lucis. All the men in the village usually speak to her first.
After 3 day in seclusion inside his mud house, Lucis finally recovered and only left with scratch here and there that will heal naturally in a few day.
He take out the small sack and pour his devine sense into it but quickly dissapointed. The sack is not the legendary "Bag of Holding" as he thought like the novel and the stuff. It's just plain.. small sack bag filled with couple of jade.
He pour all the jade out and quickly hit by another disappointment. There only 6 jade with various color in it and.. That's it. No pill or devine magic item. He thought his day as protagonist finally come but reality hit him back to the ground.
"this is the pay I got after running for my life for 4 months.." he didn't know whether to shout in anger or shout with joy for manage to save his little life.
He pick up the oval black jade and put it between his eye brow, scanning the information inside with his devine sense but as soon as he get inside the jade, a force suddenly kick his devine consciousness out.
"what the el!"
He literally shout in anger. After getting the jade, he can't even use it. Then what the use of this jade?
He suppress his anger, throwing the jade back into the sack and pick the green one and start scanning it.
The jade contain the information of basic wood element cultivation which is not very useful for battle. It's explain the basic of gathering wood energy, building a foundation in one body and forming the process wood magic core inside one body but the rest seems locked and require stronger wood element to unlock.
"it seem I need to have magic core before I can open the rest." he frown and remove the jade. Of course he's cursing inside silently.
Gathering the energy toward oneself is the basics of every cultivator and magician. Lucis currently is at this stage. After one have enough power, they can start forming the desire meridian in their body. This is the most important part for magician and cultivator. Magician focus on speed and smooth flow for their meridian while cultivator focus on widening and strengthen their meridian. Once they start this stage they no longer can change their type of meridian and will live with it, naturally, the stronger one build their meridian, the more benefit they get at the later stage like when they're forming soul in their body.
"hmmm, I wonder if there's a limit of power I can learn once I use this cultivation methods.." he fall deep thinking about modifying the manual. At this moment, he really wish he have mysterious old dude giving him some expert advice.
"the NorseThunder clan cultivation method is powerful but I only got energy gathering part. Without the method to form my foundation, the only thing I can do is basic energy transfer and basic spell.. Even if I cultivate for a hundred years, there's no use if I can't use stronger skill and.... I can fly... Damnit!" Lucis murmur by himself. He finally learned the magical world and the way to become powerfull but he only got wood type cultivation methods. From the information he have gathered during his stay in NorseThunder clan, wood is a support class.
He swipe the thought to the back of his mind and pick the purple jade. He pop his head out and look at the sky and pray to get a lucky pick before proceed scanning the jade.
He immediately frown and look confused after scanning the jade. The contain inside is rather advance than he thought and ridiculously complex.
The violet jade is the information about space and teleportation. It's even more complex than the teleportation he use to come here.
"this is magician skill but... It's been modified for cultivator.. Isn't this considered treasure or this is common knowledge?" he's not sure, after all, he spend his life as a servant and never seen any cultivator that have magic core before. The most powerful person he ever saw is wicken elder but even him is still in the process of forming his core but not even once he ever saw him using similar skill. Or did he just missed it?
"whatever, I can't use it anyway until I have my foundation." he throw the jade to the sack and pick the light brown jade.
His face is as calm as the lake near the village entrance. After a couple of minutes, he start smiling while continue scanning the jade.
The jade contain information about alchemy and plant. Similar to the violet jade, the alchemy process is a mix between magician and cultivator skill. He recognized some of the basic potion but it seems the quality is rather complicated than the current alchemy skill. Clearly this is old information and the current one is more advanced but still.. Better than nothing. He's only allowed to read the most basic alchemy in the NorseThunder clan before so he's rather noob in this. But what get his interest the most is how there's a method to create plant by combining other plants. This is really valuable.
He put the jade beside the green one and pick the yellow jade. And surprisingly, another wide smile on his face. If the elder saw him he will be frightened by him.
This one is about material use in magic item and the technique to make magic one. There's even a method how to transform certain ore to a different ore or quicken the natural ore transmutation.
"ermm, I guess this is common knowledge too. This world is more advanced with their research about natural law than earth." he smacked his thigh in excitement. All the information in the jade is common knowledge in this world, or at least he thought so.
He put the jade aside and pick the red jade filled with excitement. So far, all the information he got is easy to process and with his devine consciousness, he can easily store all this information. Thought his devine consciousness is still weak but it's enough to store the basic and can assist him to study everything in it.
The last jade is information about living being and taming methods. This one dissapointed him a bit. He's actually expecting different cultivation method but greeted with... Pet?
"this information is too old.. I bet by now, some the beast and monster recorded in this already develop a different habit and evolve a bit.. " he sigh and put away the jade, quickly lose interest.
Right now what he needed the most is cultivation methods. Until he manage to form a Soul, he will be stuck with wood type of power if he use the green jade. He can only use the basic skill of other elements until then. As far as he know, wood is inferior against metal, easily burn and even water can destroy it. The only advantage about wood is that it's superior in healing than water. Isn't that support class in the rpg game?
"maybe I should join the nearby clan...?"
Clan have the advantage of more skill available to learn and there's resources from the clan too. The best part is, they're Elder giving him advice about cultivation. Maybe he'll get to pick one mysterious old dude himself.
