13 Chapter 13 Supply
Lucis spend the rest of the day cultivating near the river until night. The river is the only place that have decent energy flow in the entire 10 kilometer area.
When night fall, Lucis start his operation hunting any wild beast he saw leave for the wild animal and small boar. He still need them to fattening themselves first.l
That night, the forest around the 7 mountain circling the village filled with roar and cry from wild beast. They experience the first nightmare being hunted instead of being hunter. In fact there's even some wild beast that look like cheetah running for it's life. Truly lucky that it's faster than Lucis.
He truly are bathing with blood that night scaring a lot of wild beast. There's even a wild boar that look like a king boar taller than Lucis himself running for it's life. There's dozen of tree knocked down by that boar before finally succumbed to its fate.
Lucis harvest that night is better than he expected. Except for the wild beast, he found black iron and herb that can be use for energy gathering potion. Combining all the black iron he got, it's enough to make great swords or two. Sadly he didn't find any ore vein.
He piling up all the beast he kill that night near the center of the village forming a small mountain. There's about 50 wild beast and some of it even as valuable as the black tiger.
Before dawn, Lucis go to the river and clean all the blood in his body before going to the village Elder house.
Elder Dun house so far is the biggest and the best looking in the village. It's covered 100 square meter and there's even a courtyard with mud wall around it.
Lucis didn't bother to wait for them to wake up because they need to process all the meet today or it will start rotting. Once again it remind him that he really want those magical storage device from the novel.
"Hm, mister Lucas? What do you need so early this morning?" grandma Nan is the first person wake up in the house. Apparently she preparing food.
"good morning, can grandma wake elder Dun? We have some wild beast to process. The earliest we start is the better or the meat will turn bad." there's still some water dripping from Lucis body as he directly come here after washing up in the river shirtless. don't talk about manner with him, he doesn't have any bottom line.
Grandma Nan stunned for a long time processing what Lucis said. Didn't he just catch wild boar yesterday. Did he catch another one last night?
He walk outside and look around the courtyard but didn't see any dead beast.
"I piled all if it at the center of the village." he know what grandma Nan looking for and answer her curiosity.
"oh, can I see it first?" her expression is doubt and curiosity.
'just how many did he got that he put it there? Even if it's 10 wild boar, this Courtyard can fit it right.' grandma Nan start doubting Lucis and having a second thought about how high she see him yesterday.
As soon as they turn around the corner and arrived at the center of the village, grandma Nan suddenly stopped moving and even forgot to breathe. All she saw is a black mountains smell blood at the center of the village.
"I don't know if we have enough firewood for all of these." Lucis cross his arm thinking deep. Maybe he overdid and forgot to consider other factor.
"this.. This is.. It's all wild beast?" she stuttered and her face devoid of blood frightened. Clearly she still underestimate Lucis. Maybe normal hunter will have a hard time but he's from the world of technology and have a ton of ideas for spare. For once, wild beast is easily lured by the smell of blood.
"I venture deeper last night. Let's ask elder Dun to call everyone to help" he casually glance at grandma Nan before looking back at the pile of dead beast feeling proud. The red jade is really useful for a stuff like this. It have information to the tiniest details.
"ah. Yes, yes, I call him now." she quickly turn around and ran back to her house still frightened. She just realized that Lucis can easily massacre everyone in the village in one night should he chose to do that. She start evaluating Lucis worth again and again and still can believe what she just saw.
Soon elder Dun came running and also frightened by the sight of the mountain beast. After couple of minutes, he started knocking every house and gather everyone at the mountain of corpse and organizing the process.
He just isn't capable of the task and forced his 3 wives to take charge of the situation.
Everyone have breakfast which they don't usually have at the center of the village like there's a wedding. Laughter and shout filled the whole village and everyone busy running around fetching water and smoking the meat.
There's not a single person in the whole village that doesn't try to talk to Lucis the whole morning. They treat him like the village chief more than the village chief himself. Respect and praise throw at his face again and again that by the time it's noon, he no longer bother to show a fake smile and instead focus to skinning the beast.
"miss Luna." Lucis take a short break and approach Luna that busy herself washing the meat.
"ah, mister Lucis." she quickly stand up and bow at him shyly.
"I heard from grandma Nan that you're good with trading.." Lucis turned and look at the pile of meat waiting to be pick up of smoking process. "how much can you estimate we can get with all of these?"
"this... "she turn around and look at all the meat and skin including the fang and claw that valuable. "if we can get a good price, maybe about 30 gold coin. The lowest is 20." It's just a rough guess from her, she's not really that knowledgeable about beast either.
Lucis look at her and nod satisfied. He doesn't know the price himself but looking at how confident Luna is, 20 gold coin doesn't sounds bad.
"not bad but it's not enough, we don't have time so we're forced to do this.. Elder Guan said that you have some relatives in the Murky town, can I ask you to handle the trading?"
"eh." Luna quickly turn her head and look at Lucis.
'did he trust me that much?' she blushed with the thought of Lucis behavior towards her. Out in the corner, Dini squint her eyes looking at Lucis and Luna talking feeling threatened.
"we don't need that much money, trade it with clothes, grain and salt. Get a good quality of roll of clothes. I heard uncle Kunan daughter...." Lucis paused for a long time before continuing. "..know how to sew a cloth. I'll pay her to make clothes for everyone in the village." Lucis feeling awkward trying to remember the name of Kunan daughter. There's just too many people talking to him today and he didn't bother to remember everyone name.
"aah.." she finally realized what Lucis trying to do. Even if she really trying to cheat him, the one that really effected is the villager, not him.
"by the way, her name is Yina." Luna let out a small laugh looking at Lucis. He finally found something that he can't do.
"huh.. "sudden he remember that name. He scratch his head feeling embarrassed.
"ehem, by the way, how many times do you think I should do this to cover the whole village through the winter?" he quickly change the topic before he get future embarrassed by her.
"well, I think we have enough. You already kill too many beast." she cover her mouth and laugh at him again.
"no way, we need a lot of grain. 20 gold coin far from enough."
"Hihi, mister, this village only have 27 family. If you use all of these to exchange for grain, you can feed the whole village more than a year." she cover her mouth and laugh at him again, she's having fun with Lucis.
