6 Chapter 3

Everyone was loud at this party. Then again, what else is to be expected from high school students? Ever since we all arrived, I disappeared into the crowd to avoid Johnathan. I've been trying my hardest to hang around Carol and Lukas. But they were everywhere. I searched the crowded patio for the new kid but didn't see him. Maybe he left?

Just then he walked out the back glass sliding door. He was wearing nothing but swimming shorts. He stretched. My eyes grew wide in hopes he didn't see me. I died a little, and not in a good way, when our eyes met. Crap.

He started walking towards me, but I dodged a few people and made it inside through another sliding door.

"Hi," I hear his voice behind me as I walk into the kitchen.

I turn and he's literally right there, close. "Why do you keep following me around?"

He smirked that annoying smirk. "I don't know... Just something about you that's so addicting."

I could feel my face getting hot. Was he swooning over me? I'm not going to fall for such nonsense! I don't like this guy. Something about him that just creeps me out.

So, I rolled my eyes and turned around to walk away but he gently grabbed my arm.

"And," he added, drawing out the word. "I know you're totally into me."

I snickered then burst into laughter. Oh please. Why would I be into him when all he's done since we've met was follow me around like a stalker?

"Are you serious?" I said between fits of laughter. "Give me a break."

With that I walked off leaving him baffled behind me. This guy was off his rocker. I shook my head and met up with Carol, who was talking to her brother.

"Hey, think you could bring me home soon?" I asked her.

"Awe come on, Natalie. You hardly ever get out. Stay a little longer," she begged me.

I rolled my eyes. I just wanted to get away from Johnathan. But she had a point. I could stay a little longer but avoid Johnathan.

I nodded. As I turned around, I collided into someone.

"Oh, I'm sorry..." I began. "Oh, it's just you, Mark. In that case I'm not sorry."

He glared at me. "Watch yourself, Havens. I'm not in a generous mood."

"When are you ever?" I threw at him. "You're never generous."

He looked me down from head to toe, then looked at the pool. A look in his eyes made me a bit cautious. What was he planning?

Suddenly, he grabbed me into his arms and held me like a damsel. I started squirming when I realized what he was about to do.

"No!" I yelled as he moved closer to the pool. "Put me down!"

"As you wish!" He said, throwing me into the water.

I could hear laughter and gasps from all around before I hit the water. This was bad! I couldn't swim, and he knew it. I started thinking of the worst things ever. My mother would be crushed whenever she finds out I drowned. I sunk to the bottom and all I could see was a figure come in after me before total darkness fell over me.

Johnathan's POV

I watched as Natalie walked out the kitchen and onto the patio where her friend was. I don't know why I was so addicted to her. Was it the scent of her blood? Was it the pure and simple fact that she was just attractive? I sighed and played with something on the counter.
