S1-200: Battling (a)

~Babil, 6115 a.d. Day 175~

On the top floor of Babil, there was an anomaly.

The Nine-tailed Fox had used magic to shoot a bolt of lightning at Ruby. In response, she held up a device with which the lightning bolt connected. The device glowed purple as the Magic Stone in the middle began to light up. Ruby felt the device become searing hot and had to let go of it. When it hit the ground, there was a loud thunk on the ground.

The Magic Stone spun and gears began clicking with each other.

Everyone in the room watched the device. Everyone except Lily. She was staring at Ruby instead as she slowly staggered backwards. She tripped on Letha's foot and fell down. Letha stared at the device with wide eyes filled with curiosity.

All of a sudden, it became quiet.

Latifa readied her daggers, wary of attack from either Ruby or the Nine-tailed Fox.

Akuji looked back to see Lily on the ground. He rushed to her side, asking, "What's wrong?"
