7 Detain

"Here, Madam, your medicine."

"Thanks..."

"Slowly, don't push yourself too hard, Madam Aqua. Let me help you."

"Hmmm."

Inside the Lightbringer Palace, the former queen, Queen Aqua and her personal maid were currently taking some medicine while the former was drinking the medicine prescribed by the palace doctor and the latter helping her.

Unbeknownst to the two, a man was standing on the foot of the bed looking at them with disbelief in his countenance.

As though a ghost, the pair didn't notice him. Two beyond twelves-layers-warrior couldn't detect him at all! In that ridiculously close distance between them!!

"You're...still alive, Aqua... That's great news..."

He muttered, which the duo didn't catch or even felt the slight turbulence in the surrounding air.

Should I appear on her? No no no, no! That'll be awkward. She must probably hate me, no, certainly she hates me! You dumbass!!

How about, I request an audience? Yeah. This way, she would not immediately throw into a rage and have time to assimilate her anger inside her before meeting an audience with me. Plus, her health is not good also... You really became too old Aqua, but still, you're beautiful smile but yet stern always captivated me. You little angel of mine...

Contemplating inside his inner dialogue, Licht's lips curled up to a smile.

I feel like I'm falling again for you, Aqua...

As weird as it might sound be, Licht's feelings for her are genuine and sincere even though she was old and all. He felt some fluttering butterfly on his stomach, and it was delightful.

Feeling excited, Licht immediately wanted to reach the palace gate and request an audience with Aqua but before that Licht made some improvement to Aqua's inner organs to fight the sickness and lessen her pain.

With how much knowledge Licht had it was an easy task for him, and without the two noticing the change.

Aqua's condition became much healthier than before as though she becomes younger again but not enough to make her more-like vigorous to fight another battle or walk carelessly around.

After Licht left something occurred that made Aqua's personal maid worry for her madam.

"What's wrong, Madan! Is something hurt!?"

"N-no... Licht...my beloved...I felt him just now..."

Then, the former queen, Queen Aqua, tears burst into her eyes delicately.

Unbeknownst to Licht who excitedly approach the palace guard.

"Er... So, do you mean, you wanted to have an audience with Queen Aqua but have no invitation?"

"Yes, that's what indeed what I have said. Is there something wrong? I'm requesting an audience, right? There's most be no rule to request an audience, aren't they?"

"Yes, you are right, but... You do know that you have no background of being a noble, right?"

"And have no permanent residence in this city."

"On top of it all, the only record you have in this city in our data intel is just almost an hour ago.

"..."

"So don't you find it suspicious?"

"...Yes... I think you're right..."

I'd never thought I'll ever be in this tough situation!

"But still, requesting an audience should be not a problem, right?"

Licht pleaded onto the Captain of the palace guard.

The palace guard was a beyond twelve-layers-warrior. With beardy hair and a scar on his forehead across downward till on his jaw, he was quite intimidating.

But Licht wasn't some ordinary guy, but even so, this man is not that scary or something. In fact, his voice was friendly that you will never think he was the one who spoke if you're blindfolded.

"Well, I guess you're right, but... There's a procedure that needs to be measured before you can meet the Queen Aqua. Don't you agree?"

"Of course. It's appropriate for someone like her."

"Good. At least you understand. So, as we wait, are you willing to be locked behind bars in the meantime? The direct orders for the higher-ups need to be approved first for your request, now that we're almost at war, assassins can be somewhere around the clock so being wary is needed, so until then we need you to stay inside the cell, is that understood?" The captain said patiently.

"There's no problem, I understand," Licht replied.

"Mmmh." The Captain nodded for his cooperation.

His first impression of Licht improves from probably an enemy to probably a neutral.

"Don't worry, we will treat you right. Bread and butter in the morning, rice, chicken, and soup in lunch, and some left-over inside the palace meals for dinner. All in all, you have nothing to worry about being starved to death here."

"Thanks."

Licht gave the Captain a light nod and followed him towards his cell.

Again, the Captain's impression of him improves seeing he didn't react to left-over meals for his dinner.

Alone, Licht started forming his plan.

First, he will deploy some of his light-shadow around the world to search for his target.

Second, he will hunt him down after this matter has been settled.

After all, "Love life first before something else", as they say.

"Yep! Sound like a good plan."

"Then, I'll entrust to you the message, Butler Gu."

After leaving Licht alone on his cell, the Palace Captain on securing both orders and security inside the palace immediately met with someone who could pass Licht's request inside.

In front of him, a butler with few strands of white hair stood elegantly, he took the paper request on the Captain's hand and said. "You can entrust to me the matter, it'll be done immediately."

Butler Gu continues. "Then, I should probably leave now so I can pass this request of yours. See you later, Captain."

Butler Gu bows towards the Captain before swiftly turning around and walk straight inside the palace.

The Captain of the palace guard saluted to show respect before turning around to continue his duty around the palace perimeter.

Butler Gu who was walking alone has a sinister smile on his face.

"A nobody wanted to meet my, precious doll? Blasphemy! Although Aqua rejected my love 400 years ago, she still technically my first love and that will never change!!"

If only one could hear him, he might have already been arrested on the spot because of his profanity against the beloved former queen.

He continued. "Once she dies, I will finally can have her love and body! I will shower him with compliments even she can't hear them. I'll have sex with her even she can't feel it. And we will together till forever!! No one can ever separate us!! Never!!!

And this nobody wanted to meet my doll? Tsk! Guy, I have some mission for you."

Then someone manifested beside him.

It was a man with messy hair and unkempt clothes, he was kneeling on his one foot waiting for his orders.

"Kill the guy in the cell. You can't miss him, he's the only one in there. Wait for arrival of the night before you strike, I don't want some messy mistakes that can trace back to me, got it?"

"Yes, it'll be done as you wanted, Master."

Then his figure turns smoke-like state before dissipating into the air without a trace.

"Now, where were I? Oh right, maybe I should fix Aqua wedding dress? After all, I need to be ready so we can marry immediately after I dug her grave after her funeral."

With countless thoughts about his wedding with Aqua's dead body, he wandered inside the palace doing various jobs as a butler to facade his true intentions to others.

Licht who have no idea what was happening was thinking of many possibilities of his reunion with his lover in which he was having a hard time.
