9 Ambivalent

Time flew by, but Licht was still detained at the prison cell.

It has already been over a couple of weeks since he'd been observed by the guards, and according to their reports, there's nothing unusual to him.

But the higher-up's approval for his visit is still not validated by them, they say.

It seems something happened amid its inspection which already made the Captain of the Palace Guard presumed the chances of it.

He would always visit Licht to consolidate him if he'd ever had some issues now onto his trust in their management.

But it seems he's just being fret about something that Licht couldn't bother to worry about, base on his conversation with him.

Unbeknownst to him, Licht already has grasped what was happening under the facade of the little scheme of Butler Gu.

In his information, he gathered inside Guy's head, the assassin, Butler Gu was deeply and madly in love with his former lover, Aqua.

To the point, every difficulty, and enemy Aqua comes across from, he would always eliminate it properly, as long the individual wasn't too hard to deal with or a certain prominent that can tarnish her reputation.

If Licht's memories wouldn't betray him, he recalls who's this Butler Gu is 400 years ago.

Yeah, that man still hasn't changed. But this time, it's worse, and it's a bit alarming.

Thus, Licht decided to intervene before this crazy old man, Butler Gu, snapped and do something irrational.

Thus, after this, someone would uncover Licht's cold body inside the cell.

If his web-intel inside the palace covered also the Palace Guard, he must've already discovered the frequent visit of the Captain in Licht Cell and be wary of his subordinate.

Unfortunately, he has no flunkey inside, even one, so he was kept in the dark about what's happening there up until now.

And any time now, the decree for his request would arrive, yet sooner enough...

In the nick of time, his request has been postponed, the army of Nix invaded the border of Lightbringer kingdom!

So, the people in power were in full-time-high geared at all-out-war, thus, his request has been openly ignored.

Hence, Licht could only wait after the whole thing subsided.

Although he's in imprisonment at the moment, the whole things were still under his control.

He already located Leon, his target.

Monitored by his light-shadow, he'll know right away if he needs to temporarily escape this cell and stop Leon from joining the war.

But it seems, he has no interest in that matter.

So until then, Licht could only eat his ration and wait patiently inside this cell.

Inside the palace secret-armory chamber, Fiora, the Queen of Lightbringer, was in full gear ready to march towards the warzone.

With the delicate, lightweight but firm armor she has, she was ready for carnage for the upcoming battlefield.

Leaving the secret-armory chamber she soon reaches her army of 15,000 strong warriors ready to intercept the advancing army of Nix kingdom.

Her army would likely reach the stronghold before the opposing army, so there's more time to make a public appearance in the city to clear her subject's worry.

She gave a speech to the whole army before entrusting the army maneuver to General Zar's command.

Because of the size of the army, the army had to maneuver to the man-made road created by the kingdom to not cramped them at the street of the Capital.

Queen Fiora only required 1,000 strong men to march into the street of the Capital along with prominent Nobles and their respective army.

Her publicity to the masses would be enough to ensure and show their safety towards their Queen for her entering the battlefield.

So, she needs to walk throughout into the palace gate towards the street of the city to accomplish that.

Reaching the palace gate, Fiora who was clad in lightweight armor was accompanied by her royal guards thoroughly until to the back, whilst the Nobles and their army outside waiting for her entourage.

"I'm entrusting the palace security to you, Captain Diego."

"You can entrust to me the matter, your highness! No souls will ever sneak past me and harm your home, your highness!!"

The Captain of the Palace Guard said with conviction to the side of her Queen horse.

If he ever knew what Butler Gu could do inside the palace without a doubt, he must have died on the spot because of guilt to fulfill his very job of being the Captain of the Palace Guard, if he just knew.

"Umu... I'll leave it to you. Then we should be going now."

"Y-your highness..."

Captain Diego interjected.

"What's the matter? Is there something you wanted to say to me?"

The Captain debated if he would tell his Queen bout the matter of Licht request audience to the former Queen, Aqua.

"Make haste Captain Diego, I don't have the luxury to waste time this time."

Urgent by his Queen, Captain Diego stated what's on his mind.

After hearing what the Captain said, Fiora didn't put the matter in importance and just said.

"Detain him for 5 more days. After that, my Mother's maid will escort him inside. There's no need to request about the matter, I'll already notify them."

"Understood, your highness!"

"Then, if that's all, we should get going now."

"Be the Victory on your side, your highness!!!"

Exiting through the palace-gate, they soon reach the city street where countless people would throw petals and flowers onto the wide pavement to show their support for their Queen.

Amidst the adoration and cheering, somehow, Queen Fiora was out of herself. It seems something plaguing her mind.

She shakes her head lightly to clear herself and continued the march with a benevolent smile.

"It must be nothing, maybe I'll just miss my Mom. Yeah, it must be nothing..."

Unfortunately, she missed probably the most important day of her life by passing it cluelessly.
