7 First Mission

The duos were none other than Da Fang and Da Jing.

Da Fang was teaching his son to cultivate. He smiles gracefully. In the day, he dressed as a waiter and serve foods humbly. At this moment, he emits an aura of an experienced warrior who has gone through countless life and death trials.

Da Jing, his son is surprisingly able to sense Qi and absorb it on the first try. How could he not be happy? He can't wait to brag to his boss tomorrow.

Back when he first come to this city, he was injured. He carried a little Da Jing and walked to the restaurant. Tian Lang saw his state and immediately rendered assistant. He Ming also take care of his son for a period when his injury was being treated.

Later on, he decided to spend the rest of his life to repay the couple and his son. Thus, he works as a waiter in the restaurant.

His wife was dead so he was grateful that his boss allows his little son to come to the restaurant with him during the day.

Like father, like son. Da Jing is also having similar thoughts. He wants to tell his only friend about this.

Because Tian Feng was practicing at home today, Da Jing didn't have anyone to play with. His father saw how lonely his son was and how he has already grown up this big. He decided to teach him cultivation.

Only when one is stronger that one is not lacking friends.

Only when one is stronger that one is not lacking self-confidence.

Only when one is stronger that one can protect his precious things.

---

Unaware of anything happening on the other side of the lake, Tian Lang is grinning in satisfaction. He once again saw that his son has learned everything he taught within a single go.

When Tian Feng sees his father expression, he feels proud of himself. [Maybe my wit is recovering...]

Their training has ended and they're heading back home, after taking the first step Tian Feng recalled something. There's a glint flash through his star blue color pupil. "Father! Let's race back home. I want to show you something."

Not expecting his son to make such a request, he was bewildered for a moment before nodding his head "Let's go then!"

"Alright!" his eyes were gleaming then he immediately dashes off toward his home with his second level movement technique.

Upon seeing this sight, Tian Lang is shocked silly but he quickly recovered and dash off in the same direction.

A few breathes later, he finally caught up with his Tian Feng. However, the look of incredulity is still appearing on his face.

This is something he would never have believed even if someone was to tell him but, the reality is in front of him. Thus, there's nothing he can do but to believe it.

His son was only at Qi level 2 and to think that he already has such speed. How much innate talent does this brat possess?

However, when he notices his son movement, he is surprised once again. That's because he sees some techniques in his son movement. [So it's not pure speed? Sigh...]

If his speed is due to a technique then it's still acceptable. Otherwise, I would have doubt that he's a demonic incarnation.

Although Tian Feng is moving this fast, there's no sound. Each movement is so natural.

Tian Lang gauges that if he was to close his eyes, he wouldn't know that his son is running by his side.

What a fantastic movement technique!

How can this little lad comprehend something like this?

Soon they both arrived home. Tian Feng was smiling brilliantly to his father like a spoiled kid waiting for praises.

Tian Lang has calmed down but he decided not to ask his son about it because he recalled that his son is not a normal kid.

Who knows what the other world is like?

He patted his son's head then went to his room.

Tian Feng also goes back to his room. He was equally astounded at his father speed. [It doesn't seem like he used his full strength at all. I must level up this skill later.]

As soon as he entered his room, he started cultivating. Since he determined to be the strongest, he might as well work the hardest. The race previously is a good reminder that he is still too weak. There are many people stronger than him.

Just like that, 5 years passed by in a blink of an eye...

In the darkness of the night sky, a boy is sitting in the lotus position on his bed.

He's cultivating!

"Ding... Congratulation on broken through to level 9"

The boy lets out a grin and abruptly open his eyes. [Finally! Level 9! The Peak Stage!]

It was Tian Feng. He was cultivating inside his room.

In the past 5 years, he has been cultivating diligently every day and night. There was one time when his mother found out that he didn't sleep at night. She was so angry that she even want to sleep in his room to keep watch on him.

After which, his father had to assure her that he'll be fine even if he didn't sleep for a whole year. Eventually, she calmed down a bit but she still demands him to sleep at least once a week.

During the breakthrough of each level, he didn't receive any gift like the previous time. He concluded that the system will only gift him when he does something for the first time.

Thus, he becomes a cultivator Qi Level 9 who only have a movement technique. The technique has already reached level 5.

Every day, he would practice skills during the day, while cultivating during the night. He discovered that as his cultivation levels up, his base speed also increased along with it.

Besides, as he reached the Peak Stage of Qi Condensation, his Qi is purer and thicker than ever before. With this much Qi, he can utilize the Wind Movement Technique for one whole day without exhausting himself.

Status

Name: Tian Feng

Age: 10

Cultivation: Celestial Immortal Level 9

Strength: 257

Agility: 130

Race: Human

Recalling the matters with his skills, his face turns gloomy. He has been spending all his times cultivating. Thus, he hasn't been earning many points for this whole time.

The points were solely earned by cultivation and skills practicing alone. But even so, 5 years was a really long time. Thus he managed to amaze a total of 200000 points for himself.

Thinking about the vast amounts of points, he feels a bit better. Tian Feng stands up after he finished reinforcing his cultivation. He's feeling his new power.

He has found a reason behind his fast breakthrough of the second level. When he learned the technique by using the system points, it'll automatically reach the peak of the level which means he's about to break through to the next level immediately.

However, if he breakthrough manually, he would have to accumulate Qi inside his body just like other cultivators. For each level increased, the amount of Qi that he has to accumulate is also increased by onefold.

Suddenly, he heard a notification from the system again.

"Ding... Mission Available! Join an academy."

His eyes lit up and he immediately views the mission. There's a dialog appeared in front of him. However, when he read it, he shakes his head and smiles bitterly.

The dialog said that he had to unlock the mission function first before he can view the mission. The price to unlock it is way too high, it's precisely 100000 points.

[Hais... since I would have to unlock it sooner or later, there's no harm doing it now. After all, he still has 200000 points to spend.]

He had already decided it so there's no use hesitating over those points any longer.

"Ding... Congratulation! Missions unlocked!"

A new interface appears and he quickly read the mission details.

Mission Details

Title: "Join the Divine Sword Academy!"

Details: "Take the exam to join the Divine Sword Academy."

Reward: 5000 points, 1 silver tier sword (upgradable) and 1 chance box

Failure Punishment: Decrease 1 cultivation level and 50000 points.

Tian Feng feels ecstatic. He didn't even consider the punishment. Joining the academy can't be that hard.

A week later...

Two horses were galloping through the forest that separated the inner circle cities from the middle circle cities.

Behind the horses was a medium sized carriage. A middle age man is sitting in front of the carriage to drive it.

Inside the carriage, a young lady is wearing a sky blue blouse with long white pant. She has long black hair that smoothly extended to her waist. The lady has a beautiful round almond-shaped brown eyes.

Two boys were sleeping soundly beside her. The two boys were none other than Tian Feng and Da Jing.

Tian Feng is heading to one of the inner circle city which called 'Dao Wu City'. The city he was in previously is called 'Xing Wu City'.

Rewind back to one week ago...

Tian Feng walked out of his room and head toward the kitchen. There he saw his mother making breakfast. He greets her and takes a seat next to her. Looking at his mother from behind, he gloated.

"Mother! Your son has reached Basic Cultivation Level 9 this morning."

His mother turned back to look at him with a tender smile. "Good son! You're a true genius so it's to be expected that you will reach this level. Your mother, I will cook something nice for you now."

As a mother, how can she not feel proud when her son is a genius. In the future, no matter how strong he becomes, he will still be her son.

At that moment, his father also walked in. He looks overjoyed. "Little Feng! Today is a perfect day. To think that you would reach this level at such a young age. haha... how great! how great!"

His father has obviously overheard his conversation with his mother. Tian Feng turns to his father and said after a little bit of hesitation.

"Father! I... want to join the Divine Sword Academy!"

Tian Lang has always plan to send him there so when his son actually tells him about this, he wouldn't stop him. Recalling his past, a feeling of reminiscent emerges in his heart. [It's been many years...]

"Little Feng! When do you plan to go?"

"I want to go as soon as possible."

Although he wanted to send him there, when the day finally comes, he can't help but feel a little reluctant to part with his son. But, knowing that all good thing must come to an end. He lets out a deep sigh...

"Alright! I'll start the preparation. It might take up to a week. You should spend more of your time with your mother."

His mother on the side didn't say anything. Although she wants him to stay with her for a few more years, she knows that it's for her son's good. But still, she can't hold back her tears and it's already started falling down.

"Mother! Don't worry about me. Your son is strong so he'll be fine. I'll also come to visit you often."

Knowing that nothing can be changed, she reluctantly agrees. "Little Feng! Mother won't stop you. However, you must let your aunty accompany you until you got admitted into the academy."

The aunty she refers to is her sister in law, Tian Lang's younger sister, Tian Fei'er. She has come by several times for the past 5 years especially on new year event.

Cultivation is a lonely path but it doesn't have to be lonely from the start.

Tian Lang has already gone to work after his breakfast. Upon seeing Da Fang, he recalled that Da Fang's son is also a cultivator. Thus, he went to talk to him hoping that he would allow his son to join the academy with Tian Feng.

When Da Fang heard about this, he instantly agreed. He also offers to drive the carriage for them until they reach the city and found a place to stay.

For Da Fang, this is an excellent opportunity for his son. Da Jing has almost reached level 9. Having him join the academy is also a good thing. Besides, his son would want to follow Tian Feng anyway. He was confident that before the exam, his son would be able to reach Qi level 9.

Back to the present...

Da Fang raises his head to look at the sky while slowing down the carriage. "It's getting dark. Let's rest here for tonight! We'll reach the city by tomorrow afternoon."

"Alright!" Tain Fei'er replied softly from inside the carriage.

The carriage finally comes to a stop. The boys woke up and getting off the carriage. There's a big tree off the road and they decided to rest there for the night. The distance between the two cities is quite far. It'll take at least 3 days to traverse.

While there are other ways of transportation, none of them can afford it and it's not necessary to do so. If they chose to go by train, they would arrive in less than 1 day but that's not a good experience for the boys who was always staying at home cultivating.

It's good to experience the world outside sometimes.

Most cultivators can fly with their mount. For those who can't, they prefer to ride a horse or run to temper their body. They are not taking it easy on themselves at all. Businessmen and ordinary people prefer to travel by train since it's fast and safe.

Da Fang releases his Qi to create a fire. Meanwhile, Da Jing and Tian Feng went to find food with Tian Fei'er. Who would eat dry ration when they could have grilled meat.

Since they are in the forest, it's a piece of cake to hunt some wild animal.

Shortly after venturing in the forest, the three of them found a wolf. Da Jing glances at Tian Feng for a brief moment and makes a hand signal.

Noticed the signal from Da Jing, Tian Feng nodded back then quickly step back. Fei'er also steps to the side.

Da Jing dashes forward and sends a punch toward the beast's head. The beast tried to dodge but it was a bit slower and the punch landed directly on its head.

Bam!

They quickly collect the wolf corpse and head back to their campfire. The wolf was just a common wild animal and one usual punch is all it took to kill it. Da Jing didn't even need to use any technique in his attack earlier.

It was just a 'Normal' punch. Utterly normal without even imbuing Qi in it. That's the difference between ordinary people and cultivators.

These days, Da Jing and Tian Feng have already become close to each other. While they didn't see each other much for the last five years, it didn't affect their good relationship at all.

The group were talking about the Inner Circle Cities for a while before they went to rest. Basically, they talked about the Dao Wu City where they're heading to. Dao Wu is one of the four most prominent cities in the Jade Flute Kingdom.

When it's Tian Feng's turn to stand guard, he walks to the fire. He picks up a stick from the ground and sits there playing with the burning flame. Looking at the dancing fire, he recalled his father's teaching.

[Little Feng! Remember... Qi is a form of vital energy, it's existed in everything between heaven and earth. It can be transformed into anything and it can be used to power anything. As long as you can imagine it, Qi can create it.]

With a look of reminiscent, he raised his hand to his face and a streak of the fire was released from his finger. The light from that flame reflected a grin on his face.
