Immortal Lover

Irene silently cursed herself in her head for her stupid luck. How could she run into Jaehyun Park, out of all people!

Jaehyun Park was another immortal. Many female immortals adored him and would chase after him with all their might.

Jaehyun was kind to everyone; he always put up a brilliant smile and was amiable to anyone who approached him.

Everyone, except for Irene.

Ever since they first met at age 6, Jaehyun had been hostile to Irene, and she had no idea why. In school, Jaehyun would glare at her for a long time. Whenever they ran into each other during lunch, he would call Irene ugly and insult her, and even put giant bugs on her desk, giving her a trauma against bugs that lasted to today. At first, Irene didn't take his aggression to heart and thought that he would eventually warm up to her with her stunning looks and personality. However, he only got worse. Jaehyun would refuse to participate in any activity with her, and still, glared at her all day long during school.

To this day, Irene still had no idea why he hated her so much, but she didn't want to deal with it now, now that she had just gotten to Earth.

"Ahaha... excuse me." Irene quickly brushed past him, lowering her head hoping that he would not recognize her.

"Irene." Jaehyun's deep voice reached Irene's ears. Irene paused, but then resumed walking at a faster pace than usual.

"Irene Kim."

"Ugh, this bastard," Irene muttered under her breath. "Sorry, I think you've got the wrong person, sir."

"I'd recognize your ugly face anywhere."

"..." Irene stopped and turned around. She snapped. "I can make your face uglier than a pig's if you really want me to..." Irene threatened while cracking her knuckles.

Jaehyun cocked his head and looked at her in contempt. "With just you? You little bag of skin n bones."

"Psh, I still beat you in all the physical exams in school."

Jaehyun's gaze darkened. In primary and secondary school, Jaehyun was still as charismatic as ever, but he was dumb and horrible at sports. However, in highschool, things changed. Jaehyun worked extra hard, and a miraculous change occurred. Jaehyun suddenly began scoring first in all the exams, and became the most wanted member of all the sports teams. However, at that point, Irene had already left highschool due to her

talent.

"Anyways, what are you doing here?" Jaehyun changed the topic.

"Mission. Busy, gotta go." Irene quickly cut their conversation short and headed into the store.

Jaehyun stared at her back.

"Dammit, I messed up again."

In the store, there were fashionable clothes with large figures on the price tag. Irene had randomly walked into the store, but she was interested in the clothes that humans loved so much. However, she soon realized the the amount on the price tags was way beyond her allowance.

After leaving the store, Irene left the mall and decided to explore the apartment again before looking at the surroundings. She retraced the path to her apartment and tried to figure out the keys. After about 5 minutes of struggling and jiggling the key, she finally managed to get into her apartment.

"Dammit, how do humans use this everyday..." Irene wondered.

After checking her apartment, Irene grabbed the phone she had left on the desk earlier and studied it. When she turned it on, it displayed the number [5:08], it was similar to the red number that the clock in her bedroom displayed.

After clicking the button on the bottom, the screen changed to show different little squares. Irene clicked on the square labeled 'maps'. The screen displayed a map, and a blue dot to show her location. Irene was stunned by all the lines that appeared. How many lines was she surrounded by? What did those lines stand for?!

After playing with the feature for a little over half an hour, a grumbling sound came from her stomach. Irene was stunned and looked at her stomach. Her tummy didn't care about her and kept grumbling as if it was complaining to her that she didn't give it anything.

"Ugh.. humans need food." Irene said in disdain, even though she was now the human,

Irene set off in search of food. Irene used the feature on her phone called 'maps' and identified a restaurant. Irene followed the lines on the map and successfully made it to her destination. Of course, when she got there, she had another unfortunate encounter with the man she tried to avoid, Jaehyun Park. After a long 20 minutes of waiting to be seated, Jaehyun Park arrived.

Jaehyun was caught off guard. His normally amiable expression changed for a second before reverting back to normal.

Irene ignored him and followed the waitress to the table. Shamelessly, Jaehyun followed and sat down on the seat opposite to her.

"Bastard, what are you doing?" Irene asked him through gritted teeth.

"I'm having dinner," Jaehyun responded innocently.

"Then go sit somewhere else."

"But then I have to wait," Jaehyun said, doing his best to look cute. He attracted stares from many girls in the restaurant.

"Suck it up," Irene scolded. "Go away before I report you."

Jaehyun gasped. "You have the nerve to show up with your ugly face and even threaten me?"

Irene was about to wave a waitress over to kick him out, but another man appeared before she could do so.

Standing in front of her table stood a tall, handsome man in a suit.

"Good evening," the man smiled, flashing his white teeth. The man pulled over a chair and sat down.

Irene was speechless. What was up with people sitting at her table whenever they felt like it?
