12 Merry as your couple

The cave was unusually silent for a minute. Immortal Lu didn't speak and just stared at him.

"What?" He shrugged. "What does the story even mean? What are you trying to say?"

Zhao Yao didn't reply, he just looked deeply into Immortal lu. He was reluctant to talk about it.

Immortal Lu rested his head on his hand, appearing to be in thoughts.

"Wait. Are you saying that you did it with a goat?" Immortal Lu twitched out of his thinking and asked him. His eyes were dilated, showing his surprise.

Zhao Yao was taken back by Immortal Lu's action, but he shook his head while eyes stole a peek of the Merp.

Immortal Lu caught that subconscious gesture and started looking at him and Merp back and forth.

The more he did that, Zhao Yao felt ashamed and averted his eyes.

"Don't tell me, Zhao Yao. Don't tell me that you forced yourself upon this poor Merp."

Immortal Lu shook his head in dismay. "That's a cruel thing to do. Can't believe that Zhao brat's reincarnation will be an indecent fellow."

"I didn't do anything. The Zhao clan made that trap for the other Zhao Yao. That was why he tried to end his life." Zhao Yao kneeled on the ground. "Now, I got his body with this shameful past."

"A trap?" Immortal Lu wrinkled his brows. "Your clan trapped you?"

"Help me, Immortal Lu. Please, help me." Zhao Yao cupped his hands and begged. "I am never such a person. Zhao Yao was upset about this because he was an Otaku who didn't have many dealings with women. He was always working to feed himself and wasn't in a situation to find love. When he finally got a chance to be in a logicless world where he could create a harem of heaven shaking beauties who will fall in love with him without any reason, he got the label of a perverse abuser.

Zhao Yao's face changed ugly as he heard more from Immortal Lu. He could only remain silent.

"How did they trap you?"

"I am not sure how. The other Zhao Yao drank with his cousin, and the next thing he remembers is waking up naked in a shed clothless with a Merp." Zhao Yao said while looking at the ground.

"You were seen Naked too?" Immortal Lu had a slight smile.

"Too? What do you mean?" Zhao Yao questioned.

"Nothing." Immortal Lu still had a smile. "So the cousin trapped you?"

"Yes, that's what I think too. I believe he drugged me with some aphrodisiac and locked me in the shed.

"Continue."

"Then the cousin came with other Zhao Yao's fiance and showed him naked. Beat him up and announced to everyone that he abused this Merp beast." Zhao Yao was disgusted by these memories itself.

"Humiliated and shamed in front of everyone in the clan and his fiance, no wonder you chose death." Immortal Lu placed his hand on the kneeling Zhao Yao's shoulder. "But don't give up on life easily."

"If I was in his position, I probably would have thought of doing the same." Zhao Yao absentmindedly said.

"Why, kid?"

"They forcefully declared and made Zhao Yao married to this Merp." Zhao Yao felt disgusted by this more than anything. He had dreams too, falling in love with women...errhh.. a woman who loves him and getting married in a beautiful ceremony. But this trampled upon his dream and concept of the sacredness of marriage.

"They did that? Then you have more reason to take care of her. Take responsibility."

"It's a f**king beast." Zhao Yao got annoyed by Immortal Lu.

"It's a low-level demon beast. Raise it well and provide materials for its growth so that it can evolve into a spiritual beast."

"Spiritual Beast?" Zhao Yao looked at the latter surprised. "How can a low-level beast turn to a spiritual beast?"

Zhao Yao understood what Immortal Lu meant by raising it to become a spiritual beast because spiritual beasts can take human form. But, he never heard about low-level beasts becoming one. Even if it could, he didn't understand why he should even try.

Although the idea of raising a beast human waifu was great, he was never much into that type of fetish.

After getting chased and bitten by a street dog once, he subconsciously had some fear and hate towards beasts. He only loved them if they come to his plate after their death. Not dogs, of course.

"It is hard for a low-level beast to become a spiritual beast." Immortal Lu paused before continuing. "But it's not impossible."

"I don't know how?" Zhao Yao shrugged. "And I don't understand why I should bother trying to make a low-level beast into a spiritual beast when it's better to catch and train high-level beast."

"You may not know, but don't forget who I am. I know how." Immortal Lu opened the small rabbit skin beside him and took a small red crystal from inside.

"A beast crystal?" Zhao recognized the material. It was a material of great value taken from the body of demon beasts.

Immortal Lu held the beast crystal and released some of his Qi into it.

Zhao Yao didn't understand what the other was doing, but he kept observing intending to learn something new. But, the next thing he saw made his jaw drop.

"Come eat this, Merry." Immortal Lu went forward to the Merp and beckoned.

"You are throwing away a beast crystal like that?" Zhao Yao asked in surprise.

He figured out that the beast crystal came from the Rabbit beast Immortal Lu hunted. He deduced that it was a strong beast based on the color and size of the crystal.

The Merp came closer and licked the crystal, before swallowing it in full as if it's just a leaf.

According to Zhao Yao's memories, a low-level beast like the Merp couldn't eat a higher beast's crystal safely. Unless...Immortal Lu did something to the crystal that made it safe.

"Good girl, Merry." Immortal Lu patted its head.

"Merry?" Zhao Yao squinted at the duo. "You named her?"

"Yes, since you didn't. Actually, it was for the best that you didn't name her considering you two share a more 'intimate relationship.' I took liberty on naming her." Immortal Lu was in a jovial mood. "Merry is a great name for this cheerful Merp."

"Why? Immortal Lu, why are doing this? This Merp is just a beast, why do you want to force me to get into a relationship with it."

Zhao Yao didn't understand what was going on. He felt Immortal Lu became weird and promoted this Merp to him like he wanted both of them to end up together. He knew Immortal Lu was bizarre, but he didn't expect him to drop this much into absurdity.

"Hahaha. That Zhao brat would love to raise or 'Marry' a spiritual Merp beast. You wouldn't know."

"My ancestor had that fetish?" Zhao Yao felt himself stink for some reason.

"Not like that. He had a reason that makes him do anything to see a Merp evolve into a spiritual beast." Immortal Lu said with a smile, he appeared to be in nostalgia.

"I didn't see what that brat did in that lifetime, but I want to see what you will do in yours. Merry as your couple may be fun to see."
