5 Chapter 3: To the Sacred Land of the Fairies 2

Somewhere amidst the breathtaking Holy Land, atop a majestic mountain, a remarkable classroom emerged from the heart of a colossal block of thousand-year-old profound ice. Within this extraordinary setting, a fair-haired fairy donned elegant sky-blue robes, poised before a group of twenty young disciples.

"Profound strength and techniques undoubtedly hold great significance on the path of Immortality. However, we mustn't overlook the cultivation of the mind and body," she began, her voice carrying a gentle yet authoritative tone. Pausing to allow her words to resonate with her students, she continued, "As cultivators, we must strive to enrich our mortal intellect by mastering subjects such as mathematics, literature, and worldly phenomena. Through the pursuit of knowledge, we unlock heavenly enlightenment and sharpen our mental acuity."

A little girl seated at the back corner raised her hand, her curiosity burning brightly. "Teacher, how do numbers find practical application in the Immortal path?"

The fairy's warm smile illuminated the room as she addressed the inquisitive student. "An excellent question, young Qiyi. Numbers serve as a means to quantify the profound strength within our bodies and gauge the purity of our profound Qi. For instance, profound measurement stones enable Palace Exam Proctors to assess a candidate's age, profound strength, and quality of their Qi. By evaluating these aspects, proctors can discern a candidate's profound talent."

She reassured her students, "Rest assured, you need not worry about the practical applications of numbers at this stage. When the time comes, Senior Teacher Chu will guide you through it. Today, we shall focus on the theoretical ways mathematics benefits a cultivator's mind."

As the class concluded, the melodious sound of a bell reverberated through the mountaintop, signaling the end of the lecture. The fairy closed her textbook gracefully. "That concludes today's session. Your assignment is to study 'The Basics of Mathematics' and 'Different Applications of Mathematics in Cultivation' from pages 46 to 231. I look forward to seeing you all tomorrow." With the conclusion of the lecture, the young fairies eagerly exited the classroom, their energy radiating like startled birds taking flight.

Meanwhile, near the serene lake, three fairies blessed with delicate, jade-like skin reveled in the tranquility of their surroundings. One fairy, her ebony tresses flowing down to her lower back, preserved her modesty with her delicate hands while gracefully cupping water within her palms. The refreshing coolness cascaded from her head, trickling down to her abdomen, while her shapely legs remained concealed beneath the gentle ripples.

Not far away, two other fairies engaged in a playful water battle, their newfound sisterhood fostering a sense of camaraderie. Lingxi exuded her customary energy, while Qingyue, the more reserved of the two, experienced a subtle restlessness within. It was as though minuscule cracks threatened to erode her composed facade, gradually revealing her true emotions. Yet, the warmth she found in their company steadily melted her icy heart.

"Lingxi, splash more water in my direction!" Lingxi called out gleefully.

Qingyue inwardly sighed. "Very well, just this once." She retaliated, returning the splashes she endured from Lingxi over the past thirty minutes.

Observing the two girls giggle and revel in their watery escapades, a genuine smile graced Xu's face. Their interactions reminded her of a cherished memory from the past. Before she could delve further into her thoughts, a sudden splash shattered the tranquil scene.

"Master Xu, why not join us?" Qingyue suggested.

"Indeed, I shall partake in your playful game," Xu responded with a mischievous grin. With a swift flick of her wrist, the calm water surface transformed into a towering wave, over five meters in height, engulfing the unsuspecting fairies. "Oops, it seems I momentarily forgot their limited proficiency in profound arts, unlike that other girl."

"Master, save me!" Lingxi screamed in terror as the wave spiraled into a miniature cyclone, spinning her uncontrollably. Qingyue, however, remained unaffected by the tumultuous waters and the swirling vortex, perhaps due to her unique abilities.

With a simple gesture of her right hand, Xu lifted both Qingyue and Lingxi into the air, unintentionally revealing their nakedness. Blushes adorned their necks, cheeks, and ears as they hurriedly reached for their garments.

Regaining their composure, Xu gestured with her left hand, causing the water droplets to retreat, returning the lake to its tranquil state. The two fairies gracefully descended onto the grass-covered ground, hastily dressing themselves.

Xu floated beside them, exuding patience. "Get dressed; we shall depart."

"Yes, Master," they replied in unison.

The chill in the air prompted Xu to offer them fur robes. "These will keep you warm." She gently draped the robes over their shoulders, affectionately patting their heads. "I apologize for my earlier action, little Qing'er, and little Ling'er. Let us go; your senior sisters await."

The girls nodded, and Xu enveloped their waists with her arms, soaring into the sky with breathtaking speed. "Allow me to show you something extraordinary," she said, as six crystalline wings emerged from her back, three on each side. "Hyper-speed." The trio vanished on the horizon, their velocity blurring the surroundings into a seamless fusion of white.

Qingyue's eyes sparkled with anticipation, while Lingxi's eyes rolled, revealing the whites and producing small bubbles in her mouth.
