Chapter 5 [I want 10k followers on my SNS account]

'SNS, huh?'

"Yeah, I do but... I don't really use it much."

Honoka quickly sent her reply whilst drinking her red tea.

A quick and simple reply had quickly been sent back to her as she tapped send saying:

"Which site? and What username?"

She gave the site name and username and it a few seconds she got a notification on the app for the said SNS site saying that a person named "Yuuk1" had followed her.

Fortunately Honoka hadn't posted anything that would count a embarrassing on the said account yet and has only been following cosplayers that she admired.

"It's too much of a pain to maintain a SNS account since there's nothing to post most of the time... and I don't really have that many followers either so what's even the point? And plus I'm not even a popular cosplayer..."

At that moment a idea popped in her head...

"That's it! I'll start posting pictures of my work in progress costumes along with my cosplay pictures on that account!"

She shouted collapsing on to the tatami floor of her apartment and just falling asleep there totally forgetting that she was still talking to someone online.

Her phone kept on going off as her conciousness faded...

The following day as she woke up to find herself on the floor just laying down she immediatley got up to the sound of the doorbell ringing.

"Oh yeah... That's probably the fabrics that I ordered yesterday..."

She opened the door pretty quickly to find the mailman carrying the box that had the fabric that she needed inside of it in his hands.

At this point it's either sink or swim when it comes to wether she finishes this new costume of hers before her two weeks of free time ends and the call from her editor telling her if she could still continue working on her light novel or not arrives, but at the same time the summer event was only a week away from starting...

She immediatley started to get to work ignoring the message notifications from the chat group app on her smartphone as she got the package from the mailman that had arrived.

She turned on her laptop and searched through her picture folder for the reference pictures that she needed for the costume and started making the templates...

"Snip, Snip"

The sound of the scissors cutting through the piece of paper that she used for the templates spread around her apartment as she started making some progress on the aforementioned costume.

'Oh crap, I totally forgot to order the wig and the contact lenses!'

She facepalmed as she finished making the template for the winter coat-like vest of the costume suddenly remembering that she hasn't ordered those items yet.

She stopped what she was doing and put it aside, and quickly went to a online store that sold wigs and colored contacts used for cosplaying...

The wig she needed was ginger in color that had the lenght that reached the nape, along with a side ponytail on the right side of it.

While the colored contacts she needed were blue...

Unfortunately the colored contact lenses that she needed wasn't in stock anywhere online at that time, with the click of her tongue in annoyance.

She quickly looked up some stores that sold colored contact lenses that she could go to...

She managed to find some stores but they are still close because it's only around 7:00 in the morning.

And the closest one to her apartment building was in the Akihabara area which opens at 11:00AM, around four more hours.

She decided to go to that shop later in the day...

She started to look for the said wig online on a cosplay shop.

She finally found it with only one more instock, she quickly presses the "Buy" button on the product page and completed her order with the webpage saying that the item will arrive in three days.

She continued to work on the other templates that she needed for the costume in the meantime as she waited for the time of the eye contact store to arrive.

She finished drawing up the templates along with the neccessary adjustments that she had to do and started to slowly trace the pattern onto a piece of white fabric using a fabric pencil.

With that done she grabs the same pair of scissors that she had used for cutting out the patterns and began to cut along the fabric pencil's lines.

Her phone went off because of a new mention notification from the chat group app.

She put the piece of fabric aside to grab her smartphone to check the notification...

"@Honoka Who are you cosplaying and what day are you going?"

Was the message that was written on it along with her username sent by one of the mods Azuki.

"@Azuki All four."

She quickly replied putting her phone back on the table and starting to work on her costume once again.

'I'm really gonna hate the weather on all of those four days, aren't I?'

There's only two more days before the summer event starts, Honoka was now about seventy percent completed with the winter themed costume that she had been working on for the past five days...

Her phone continued on with the ringing whilst she did the finishing touches for the top part of the said costume and she didn't pay attention to it at all.

After she reached ninety percent she devided to go on a quick break and opened up the group chat app on her phone once again.

She takes a picture of the work in progress costume and sends it over to the chat group with the caption: "Upcoming idol cosplay. what are you guys/gals currently working on?"

The chat room was pretty silent when she logged in, there were a small ammount of people talking in the chat. While the others WERE online but aren't saying anything, AFK-ing; and Yuuki was marked as offline whe sent the picture.

One member replied with a picture of a armor made from thick rubber sheets without any paint on it yet along with a message saying: "A fantasy style knight."

While the member called "Yuzu" sent a picture of a work in progress cheerleader costume and a picture of a female character with long dark red-colored hair and yellow eyes...

"A cheerleader version of a character from a rhythm mobile game."

Seeing these replies Honoka replied with a "Noice"

'I need more practice... They have me beaten when it comes to their skills... I also need to get good to be able to gain more followers.'
