1 Reincarnated

"What happened?"

Saul was quite confused, the last thing he remembered doing was looking for evidence on his best friends murder. He was looking through some police documents, he found in the old library in the middle of town.

Then as he was leaving the fire alarm of the library went off. Like everyone else, he started running for the exit. The moment he was about to leave the door he felt something fiery invade his body.

The last thing he saw before he blacked out was the bodies of people all around him.

"Saul are you okay, please respond. How could this happen to you." quite confused about what was happening. Saul tried to stand up, feeling a sharp pain in his head. He fell back down to what seemed like a bed.

"Doctor"

"Doctor"

"What happened", "Doctor he just moved," "I'm telling there his no way he is still alive he suffered a gun shot wound right to his heart there is no way he is still alive.

The doctor was quite sure of his diagnosis of the boy. But looking at the boy's heartbeat from the screen, he noticed that the boy heart rate was elevated at an alarming speed.

"Someone get the nurses in here, he roared". The nurses came in surrounding the boy, trying to lower his heart rate.

Saul again was quite confused about what was happening, there was quite a commotion around him.

"Can someone tell me what's going on?"

"He just spoke, he just spoke but how is that possible!!!!!"

"Saul my baby what happened to you, I promise you'll be okay."

Saul was confused about who was calling him baby, this woman did not sound anything like his mother.

Mustering enough energy he opened his eyes. Gasping in surprise, he tried moving away from the people that were touching him.

They looked normal, but he was shocked to see blue screens floating above there heads.

"What's on top of your head?"

"Saul there is nothing on top of your head, just calm down you are probably suffering from stress"

"What happened to me," he asked. "You were shot on your way back from school do you remember anything?"

Saul unconsciously groaned foreign memories started to fill his head.

"My name is Saul Cordova, I am 16, I live in Odra."

"Yes, Saul, can you tell us anything about what you saw when you were coming back from school?"

"I don't remember anything," "That's okay just rest for now if you need anything just press this button," said the doctor handing him a small remote.

"Thank you," Adam whispered. "No problem Saul, it's my job.

Saul was so shaken he realized he had just been reborn into an alternate universe. And with an RPG system at that.

The rpg system allowed him to live his life like a game but it did not give him quests or anything like that. Anything he wanted to achieve he had to achieve it with his own power, but he had an advantage he could get stronger through repetitive actions.

"Stats"...

Waiting for something to happen, well nothing happened.

"Skills"

[No current skills available]

"Yes," he screamed internally. It looks like he did not have stats like an rpg game, but he had skills, and he was sure he could level them up by using them.

Going over his predecessor's memories, he found out that this world was in no way similar to his previous world. This world had made advanced technological advances in all fields.

Humans in this world were already living on different planets. People could travel to space and back in a couple hour for vacation.

It turns out that he was born into a very wealthy family, an aristocrat family if you will. He was privileged but unfortunately, he was very untalented.

In this world, advanced research in the area of nanotechnology had changed the world in different ways. People could lift cars, and be as strong as superheros.

The field was not at first required after all what would you use that power for, give this power to civilians and let them run loose with the power to cause extreme damage. Eventually, research on nanotechnology was shut down.

But as humans started to space travel, they found out about the existence of alien races. That surpassed them in every aspect. At first, the humans thought they could be friends with the alien races, but at the first sight of them, the alien race wanted to thoroughly exterminate the human race.

So research on nanotechnology began again this time stronger than ever. Finally, the humans had an edge over this so-called aliens, and could at least defend their territory.

But the aliens who had a longer lifespan than human had advanced technologies and a stronger body. Had a definite edge over humanity. And again humans were pushed back until the discovery of covenants, it was a technological breakthrough for humans.

But unfortunately, not all humans were capable of using covenants. But for the first time, humans were able to push back against the aliens. Humans finally decided to create a school to train those who had the ability to use covenants.

Saul sadly had no talent for controlling a covenant. It was quite unusual too, it was common knowledge that the ability to command a covenant was hereditary. But he had no talent in commanding a covenant, unlike his super talented younger brother that was a once in a lifetime genius.

But even so, his mother still doted on him and allowed him to go to regular school. Life was quite good for him, but even so, he was not happy. He did not want to be reincarnated, he loved his life and he did not even find out his best friends murderer.

But beggars can't be choosers deciding to spend this life as best as he could. He would live this life to his heart's content, and enjoy it. Feeling hungry he pressed the button on the remote the doctor gave him. And closing his eyes he waited for someone to come and give him food.
