115 The Opulent Room

After a relatively short period of time the Lieutenant walked back into the command room and presented a small crystal to the commander respectfully before retreating from the room. Yun looked intently at this crystal, not quite sure what it was, but assumed it was some form of information storage, otherwise the Lieutenant would not have returned with just this.

Watching the General closely she saw that he was using his spiritual energy to read the crystal, validating it as an information storage device in her mind.

"Well, General? Is your information up to date on the news from my Sect, or are you running a little behind?"

With a deep frown on his face, the General looked back at Yun and pondered for a few moments before he spoke again.

"Our intelligence is unfortunately lacking right now on who was designated as the leadership for the Hunting Hall this time, but this is not necessarily a bad thing considering it should be kept secret. I do, however, have the information from the Inter-Sect Tournament. If I'm not mistaken, you placed highest for your sect, and were quite close to the final victors."

"That's correct, this little Yun placed quite well, all the way in Third place, in that tournament. After returning to the sect I was given command of this centennial conflict. You should update your intelligence reports. On the other side, I'm curious about that crystal you have. It doesn't look like a standard information storage crystal from here."

The General smiled, "I'll certainly look into the validity of your claim, rest assured. On the topic of this crystal, it's a special type of storage crystal that only stores information for one use, allowing us to ensure that it can't be secretly read through by someone before it arrives where it belongs. Back to business though, I'll still have to trouble you to stay put for at least a day, give me enough time to have a scout travel out and send back news of the area you claim to have shifted to."

Yun was frustrated, but understood the need for security at the same time, she struggled to calm herself for a few moments before she assented to his request. After a short period of general conversation and eating she was shown to an open style room a few floors below. From this location she was kept isolated from others, kept within close reach of the General, and kept from signaling anyone.

Yun was a little astonished at the sheer size of the room she was in, but she only took a few minutes to adjust to it. On entering the space she saw that it was nearly round, and there was almost no division between any spaces. At best there was a small free-standing divider, and a few pillars scattered about the space.

On one side of the space there was a large square reservoir serving as a bathing area, with a wooden floor grating next to it for washing and drying afterwards. Nearby was one of the only dividers in the room, a free standing and extraordinarily engraved free-standing wooden divider. On the wooden panels there were engraved four different scenes that were incredibly lifelike. The first panel was of a large feline beast helping free an unusually large feline with white fur and black stripes from what looked like a large amount of rubble. The second panel was of a fox-like beast helping free what appeared to be a hairless Vulpis with strange lumps on her chest wearing a very traditional looking robe. The third panel depicted yet another large animal, this time a canine, freeing what appeared to be a massive canine beast with an enormous mouth compared to it's head. Finally, the last panel appeared to depict a huge lizard creature rescuing a strange serpent with a horn and pair of long whiskers.

Yun had never seen such a detailed mural before, and she spent quite a while just looking at it and examining the details of the magnificent woodworking. She had heard a few times about the history of the Lynhär races mythic rise from beast to rulers of the planet, and she was fairly confident that this divider was depicting that scene.

Behind the divider was an obvious sleeping area outfitted with one of the most impressive beds she had ever even dreamed of. Across the space from this lavish area of relaxation was a moderate side area with a beautiful wooden desk and shelves full of various materials that could be used to make things like maps or to scribe things in preparation for storing them in a piece of crystal.

Finally, more centrally located was yet another lavish space of leisure, designed for sitting and receiving guests or simply relaxing. Finally, just to the side by the door, there was a small table with a few chairs made of stone where guests could be received. Yun figured there wasn't anywhere she cared to go for the day she was to be here, so she sat on the floor and began to meditate.
