97 Cleaning the Room

In the center of the formation of Lightning energy Yun felt like she should sit down and focus on the energy flows around her. She could feel the Lightning energy growing and slowly forming an invisible net above them, while the visible circle of the Lightning passing through the spears grew even denser.

As the lightning energy grew in the space, the remaining airborne miasma was quickly burned away, resulting in a sizzling sound permeating the space. While the miasma was slowly devoured by the energy, the creature had begun to prowl around the space like a caged beast, looking for an opportunity to attack Yun and break through this entrapment. Unfortunately for it, the array had different ideas.

As the energy density reached a peak point the array released a dense bolt of lightning energy directly onto the body of the prowling monstrous creature, burning a hole straight through it. At this moment array dimmed slightly, but the creature was incapable of taking advantage of it.

Outside the array there were nearly a dozen various smaller creatures gathered around, watching the battle. A few of the first ones had tried to enter the battle mindlessly, but upon touching the outer edge of the array the weaker ones were instantly vaporized, while the stronger ones were half dead. This left Yun extremely satisfied, as she could tell that her energy consumption to perform this was quite low, but she also knew that the setup for this ability was simply too easy to interrupt for any intelligent species.

Over and over the lightning energy within the array branched out and struck the creature, and each time it ripped a hole in it's body that couldn't heal itself. Slowly the beast was whittled down to just a small ball of energy implanted in the forehead of the skull, unable to even gather energy to itself in the slightest.

Sensing the weak state the evil energy was in, Yun stood and, with a wave of her hand as if it was natural, she dispersed the electric energy outwards in a wave that decimated any of the creatures that were not behind an obstruction. Looking around she was annoyed to see that three of them had survived, but they were of almost no threat to her at all. She called forth her Argent Lightning spear and let it take care of them. The rapidly rotating blade made quick work of the leftovers before returning to her body.

Yun stood before the original creature's scattered bones, feeling pity for whatever being these bones originally belonged to. The now-defiled bones were blackened as though they had been through a fire, and the bead of evil energy in the skull pulsated angrily, trying to draw in some of the remaining miasma in the air. She was trying to figure out what she would do with this tiny ball of evil when Wuying finally managed to stagger out of his room in a half-daze.

Yun was still pondering what to do with the enemy when Wuying's appearance gave her a brilliant idea. Who better to dispose of something made of such dense Darkness elemental energy than someone who was a Darkness elemental cultivator? She smiled a little as she picked up the skull gently and walked towards him.

"Wuying, are you back with us?" She asked gently, looking him over to see how well he had recovered.

Rubbing his head, he groggily responded, "Feel like my head was in a vice, but otherwise alright. What happened here?"

Yun hesitated for a moment before responding, "It looks to me like some kind of possession. The moment I entered into that last tunnel there was a pretty hefty miasma that tried to get to me, but for some reason my spear began to vibrate and blocked it. When this Yun reached the edge of the room there was some strange distortion, but I had to enter to find you, so walked on through.

"On the inside of the room this Yun found your footprints and followed them before you attacked me. I followed you to this side room and found a body here that suddenly began to absorb the miasma, growing larger and attacking. Afterward i defeated it, but I've left it's very core here for you. Are you interested in absorbing the core energy of it?"

Wuying was a little stunned by all this, and took a few minutes to process what she had told him. After he felt like he'd processed all that she had told him he began to ponder the energy core in front of him. He was unsure if there would be any problems with absorbing something like this, but from what Yun had said it might not be the only one of it's kind here. Gesturing around, he asked Yun to gather some of the weaker ones to absorb first, just to be sure he wasn't making a huge mistake in this decision.

Sitting down where he was, lacking the energy to move really, Wuying began to absorb the weakest of the energy cores that were left. Some of the weakest ones had actually been completely obliterated when they contacted Yun's array formation before, so this one was just a little above those.

Before long he had absorbed the majority of the energy within it and was beginning to digest it. Combing through it he was gleaning knowledge of the Heavenly Laws related to this entity, but he was quickly astonished with what he found the root law to be.

As Yun was watching over him she saw the stunned look on his face as he became slack-jawed, and just as she was about to ask him about it he blurted out one word before frantically grabbing the next biggest core from the pile and absorbing it carefully as well.

That one word was, without a doubt, Entropy!
