2 The Farewell

While walking back to the mansion with his had down lost in thoughts Garsam heard someone calling for him and when he raised his head who was in front of him was a elderly man in his early sixties calling for him "Garsam come here." He said waving his hand.

"Grandpa!" Exclaimed Garsam surprised to see his grandfather here, since Roth Brandli almost always was in his quarters dealing with the familly and his merchant company matters.

"Garsam come here, accompany me for a walk." Called Roth for his grandson increase the pace, then they started walking in silence.

Not even a minute later and already out of patience Garsam spoke first "Grandpa, do i really have to leave? i'm going across the ocean you know..." Said Garsam starting to get sad thinking about his future.

"Is better this way, you are more talented than most, so of course you have to study in a better environment." Replied Roth with a tinge of pride when looking at this grandson of his. "Because of you our family will attain the title of nobles, altought is just a title is going to make our lifes easier, so when you arrive at the academy you have to study hard ok?" Said him to lift Garsam's mood.

"Ok!, since everyone is counting on me i will become the best mage and then father, mother and grandpa won't have to worry of being bullied anymore by those nobles!" Said Garsam with a new and easily gained determination.

Seeing how his grandson passed from feeling sad to such a brave front Roth couldn't but start to worry how Garsam is easily manipulate with just a few words, but remembering how smart he is, is just a matter of time and a little experience to Garsam mature in a fine young man.

Walking together to the dinner room for lunch, Garsam soon spotted his parents already sitting and awaiting for them, looking around he realize that only them were at the table and his uncles, aunties and cousins waren't even in them room.

"Come here Garsam." Said his mom patting the chain next to her for Garsam to sit there.

Greeting his parents as soon he saw them Garsam hurried and sit besides his mom showing them a bright smile. "Today will be just the four of us." Said his grandfather when he sitted in the sit of honor.

Thinking that this would be the last lunch with his parents Garsam prefered like this, since he always

had a distant relationship with the rest of the family.

"How was it with that Honorable Mage?" Asked his father as soon as he sitted, his mom and grandpa facing him also curious of what they talked about.

"It was ok, he just said that he will take me and another 7 talented ones on a airship across the ocean to the Sky Sword Academy."

"Whoa... An airship, i heard that only with a powerful mage to defend one can fly with it, since the beasts is the sky would easily destroy one." Replied Garsom's father Gar.

BANG!

"Don't scare him, of course nothing is going to happen in the airship!" Exclaimed Beth beating the spoon on the table, rather furious with her husband for trying to scare their son.

"Ok, Ok, I didn't want to scare him, and he will going with a Honorable Mage anyaway so we don't have nothing to worry about." Said Gar calming his wife.

Garsam watching the interaction between his parents couldn't help but feel happines, and at the same time already missing this feeling.

"Cough, Cough." Interrupted another round of discussion between his son and daughter-in-law. Turning his head to the side to face his buttler he said "Roland, prepare a banquet tonight, just for the mansion, to celebrate that Garsam will leave and become a mage."

"Yes Sir." replied Roland bowing and leaving the room to start the arrangements of the banquet.

After this, the lunch was a silence one, where they just ate, with a gloomy atmosphere. As always being the first to speak Garsam couldn't help but say first feeling the state his parents were.

"Dad, mom..." before he could finish what he was going to say his father interrupted him.

"Garsam, your mother and i are very proud of you." he said looking straight at his son's eyes.

"The moment you were born we knew that this day would come, although we thought that it was going to be at the age of 10 and not now, this just proves how talented you are that even before starting to learn magic you already are able to feel the elements." Said Gar with pride of his son.

"When you said that you could feel the elements, we reported that to the academy thinking that you would just enroll early and not leave the Kingdom, but now that developed to this situation, we just feel more pride, it may be a few years or decades for our next meeting but when we think of you becoming a great mage we can't help but feel happy for you."

Listening to his father's words although sad Garsam also started to dream the day where he would one day become a great mage and the proud look on the face of his father.

"I also heard that our world is a very big place and that our Kingdom of Raizor is just a tiny place in a corner, and as a mortal merchant i can only trade inside the Kingdom where is safe, but i had a dream when young to travel the entire world, Garsam as a mage you would have this chance so i hope that when you return you can tell me many stories of our world." Said his grandfather when his father finished speaking.

"And when you return bring back a little wife for me to see." Said his mother with teary eyes.

"Ok!" was all Garsam could say with his tiny fist clenched and almost crying.

"Haha, now now, this is a happy occasion, let's eat." complete Roth, prompting everyone to start eating again.

After the lunch Garsam spend the time with his father and mother and when evening came the banquet celebrating that the Brandli family produced a talented one began.

At a square near the royal castle, a airship of more than five hundred meters in length, a hundred meters large and with about a hundred meters of hight was parked and when Garsam with his family arrived he could see many workers loading the airship with supplies and just like him a few teenagers saying goodbye to their familys and Ramon at the entrance of the airship waiting for then.

"Ok you better go now." Said his father passing a luggage where were Garsam's belongings and clothes.

"Goodbye my son and i hope to see you again one day." Said his mother on her knees hugging Garsam and crying.

"Don't worry mom, i will come back for sure!" Exclaimed Garsam freeing himself of his mother's embrace and patting his chest to assure her.

"All the students, is time to board the airship." Sunddenly Ramon's voice was heard across the square, and at that time they realize was time for the final's farewell.

Hugging his parents one last time, Garsam with his luggage that was almost as tall as him walked to the airship and before entering looked back and waved his hand one last time to his parents trying to be strong and not to cry.

When everyone embarked the airship they were led a spacious room where even with fifty people the room wouldn't feel crowded, and in there, Garsam and 7 new talenteds saw Ramon waiting for them with a few more teenagers.

"Welcome a board of the Flying Sword airship, the Kingdom of Raizor was our last stop, and now we are going straight to our academy, the travel will last about a month and the Sky Sword Academy is where you all will start a new phase of your life." Said Ramon with a cold face to all the children on the room.
