37 Jeffrey

She had shadows of light leaking through the foliage resting on her face. She was up against the tree, balancing herself on the branch she stood on. Above her sat Dante, kicking his legs in the air while his gaze was directed at the window of the mansion.

"You better not fall." She lightly warned.

"Why?"

"Cause' I'll have to jump down to soothe you." Zuna slid down against the tree into a sitting position.

"If I fall you won't have to soothe me." Dante said without looking back at her.

"Even if you don't cry, it'll still hurt." Zuna looked up at him.

"No it won't." He looked back. "I don't feel pain."

She was silent for a moment. "Is that one of your abilities?"

"Asrael has it too."

The idea of having different abilities wasn't new, but no pain? Indeed, Asrsel and Dante were a lot different than the rest, first was the slower aging, and now neither feel pain?

"Anything else?" Zuna asked. She knew about his healing ability, and that he was like her dad in the way that he couldn't get injured.

"Asrael can change his appearance." His face was blank.

"Oh." Zuna wondered how much Asrael could actually change, but she figured she would find out eventually. "How's your strength?"

"Me and Asrael are stronger than average mortals." Dante changed his gaze back towards the window.

"I guess that's normal for most Immortals then." Zuna nodded and also looked towards the window. They were a ways away, but they could still see inside. It was an empty bedroom.

Buzz. Buzz. Zuna furrowed her thin eyebrows before reaching to get her phone.

Eirik: "When are you coming back?"

She thought for a moment, tapping the side of her phone with the tip of her finger. She inevitably relayed the entire situation to him, while also mentioning Asrael and Dante's abilities.

Another text, it was Arius this time. "When are you coming home?"

She smiled at the word 'home' as she wrote, "Tomorrow."

"Hey, look." Dante pointed towards the window. Her gaze followed the direction, and her face changed to mild shock.

"Your pure eyes must remain chaste!" She whispered loudly as she quickly stood up and brought her hand to Dante's face. "Turn around!"

Following her command, Dante swiveled so that his legs hung off the other side of the branch. Zuna released a breath of relief once she saw that he was now facing the other direction. She hadn't actually expected anything to happen on the first night, and so she wasn't really prepared.

She fumbled with her phone as she opened up her camera. Making sure flash was off, she pointed it towards the glass window, it was shut and so no noise could be heard. She decided to record it.

Zuna couldn't help blushing as she watched the figures undress. She prayed for it to be over soon, and soon it was. She only had a little bit over a minute of footage. Wow, why does Elisabeth even bother with this guy? Hehe.

She went to find a game on her phone, then gave it to Dante. "Here, you know how to play right?" He nodded and took the phone.

Later into the night the silence was broken when Zuna's stomach growled. She groaned in annoyance and pain, she was so tired.

"We haven't had dinner." Dante turned to look at her, and she looked back without response. Zuna lifted her hand out towards him, signaling for him to had over her phone.

When it was finally in her grasp, she clicked on a contact given the name 'Food'. She was ordering food... but what would still be open at midnight?

"Hey, what do you want to eat?" She looked at the boy.

"Where are you ordering from?" Dante kicked his legs in the air, not at all sleepy even when it was so late.

"They got sandwiches." She said vaguely.

"Doesn't matter, I'm not picky." He shook his head.

She nodded as she finally had the call go through. "Jeffrey, can you get me two of the usual?"

"Sure, the usual place?" A voice came from the other end.

"Nah, it's in a rich place, I'll meet you outside the fence. I'm actually not supposed to be here so try to keep it lowkey."

"What's the address?"

"I'll text it to you, and add the money to my tab."
