91 Child of Royalty

"Go faster! Woohoo!" She shouted for Arius to speed up while the entire top half of her body was out the car window.

Arius smiled. It had been a long night, and in the end, he was relieved the cops hadn't shown up. The pranks they had planned left him speechless, and yet he still had fun. He used to think he himself was eccentric, but Zuna always brought eccentricity to another level.

Her blonde hair that was slightly wispy at the ends was blown in different directions by the wind. Some strands were covering her face but she didn't seem to care.

"Hey! I think I was wrong! I might actually be able to fall in love with you!" She was yelling over the whipping of wind, making her just barely audible to Arius.

In understandable shock, Arius's eyes widened. "What do you mean?"

Pulling herself back inside vehicle, she looked at him without expressing any bashfulness. "What do you mean 'what do you mean'? Aren't you supposed to be smart?" She rolled her eyes dramatically, neglecting all the times she'd teamed up with the others to insinuate that he was braindead.

"Why?"

She suddenly gave him a toothy grin. "Because, right now, I'm having fun."

Arius gave up.

"The universe's proudest possession was 'Eternal Life'. Unpredictably, it was at some point torn into four, Light, Dark, Heat, and Cold. The Universe did not want to keep these powers from exploring their existence, and so it set them off."

"When they found Earth, it was only the beginning of humanity. Somehow, it was impossible for these powers to neglect the possibilities of this species."

"Borrowing the construct of these entities, they created their own. Four groups that they called clans, although separated from earth within orbs. In total, their were eight orbs, though only four had the power to contain the clans, and the others were subsidiaries containing power."

"The powers that were supposed to be of unlimited possibilities became weaker after this. Under a new understanding, the powers came to a consensus. They locked themselves  within the walls of their orbs and gave their powers to the clans, and more so to one member of each clan, giving them the title of 'Royal'."

"After thousands upon thousands of years, each of the four Clans grew tired of eternity and eventually asked to be killed. The powers had conditions. All except the Royals, must first have a child. Exceptions were made, and the meeting of the Heat and Cold clan led to them mixing. Besides that, the Royals did not listen, giving life to the half Heat and half Cold child of Royalty, Venti Anemoi."

"After the death of the first generation, there was no longer any pure Cold or Heat. In light of this, an unforeseen event occured when the orbs belonging to these clans turned red and broke apart, leaving behind Phyrraium."

"With no orb to hold the two clans, every other clan was brought from the orbs aswell. The clans became united, and yet separate."

"After another request for death, the powers denied it. The clans though, soon found that the Pyrraium crystal could kill Eternals. It was at this revelation that the Royal child Venti Anemoi decided to go against the powers of Light and Dark."

"He used the Pyrraium crystals to grant death to his fellow Eternals within the clans, earning the rage of the two powers. Instead of death as punishment, his only repercussion was eternal rest."

"Or so it was told." Venti smiled as he looked up at the blue sky. "But couldn't you have told it with more truth?"

"Lies were necessary when dealing with the remaining clan members."

"You know, I think that if you had told the whole truth, you could have prevented my return." The boy sat upright. "Before I leave, answer me this, why is it that the orb of darkness is white?"

"You already know."

Venti sighed. The world is as we perceive it. "Can't you try seeing it through my eyes?"

"I already do."

Venti could not determine the reasoning behind why eternal rest was created with an end. The event that would end it, would be the awakening of conceptual link.
