9 Ch.9| People Call Her Zuna

"You don't know?" Once again, Arius had a question.

"Not really." Dante put his seatbelt on. He looked as if they were talking about something simple.

"Where are you from?"

"Not here."

Arius didn't know what else to ask, he couldn't think of anything but he felt that he needed to ask someting. He started the car and drove off, he stayed silence for a bit.

"Do you know anyone from 'Not here'?" He was really curious.

Dante thought for a moment, "My brother."

"Your brother. What's his name? Do you know where he is?" Arius didn't originally think too much when Dante was given to him. It was only after Dante had to guess at his age.

"Asrael. I don't know where the idiot is though." Dante said flatly. The use of the term 'idiot' was self explanatory.

"You don't like your brother?" He asked warily.

"I'm always cleaning up after him." Dante's perfect English and use of phrases could shock any normal person. Arius had seen a lot of cases with abandoned or orphaned children, but Dante was rather different. He had a few similar cases, but it felt like Dante wasn't like the average orphan, or mistreated child.

"By 'cleaning up', what do you mean?" Arius felt that Dante was rather mature for his age. It was worrisome to say the least.

"He gets into so much trouble, I'm always the one to make things seem normal."

"It's not normal? Why? Is it something about your parents?" Arius was visibly worried at that point.

"I've never met my parents. My brother was the one taking care of me," Dante looked up at Arius like a child seeking warmth and protection, which he was. "But now you're here." It made Arius pause.

"Next time we go somewhere, you should ride in the back. The passenger seat is too dangerous for a kid your age." Arius focused his gaze on the road while his mind seemed to wander.

"Mhm." Dante nodded happily. It was hard to guess what exactly went on in his head.

They drove until they reached the mansion

Arius parked the car and went to open the door for Dante, but the child had already climbed out and was on his way to the door. Arius could only sigh. It was an odd feeling, he felt bad that a kid at such a young age had grown up so fast. He was slightly proud.

Dante waited at the door for Arius to open it, once he finally did he sprinted inside. His first destination was the living area, as that was the closest to the front door. After awhile he had searched the entire place, except the basement. Arius had locked it, though he didn't question why.

"Do you want the second floor master bedroom?" Arius asked as he knelt down so that he was leveled with Dante.

"No." Dante shook his head adorably, although he didn't realize his cuteness. "I want my room to be on the same floor as yours."

The statement was just enough to melt Arius's cold dead heart. "Then, do as you wish." Arius had a sort of immunity to cute things as he had lived so long, but Dante was simply a different kind of loveable. It really was the first time in a long while that his adoration was genuinely earned. "Would you like to watch some TV?"

The little one nodded. Oh, how cute. Though, just as he was preoccupied by the adorable thing his phone rang. It was Pierre, so he answered of course

"What do you want?" Arius said slightly impatiently, though as he watched Dante so easily turn the TV on, his mode wasn't so sour.

"What do you mean, 'What do you want'?" Pierre snapped, feeling dejected. "I did what you asked, I found were the girl is." He sighed.

"What's her name?" Arius asked with bright eyes.

"Well, people call her Zuna, but that might be short for something."

"Oh? And where can I find her? I want to meet her." Arius sounded at ease and carefree as he spoke, though Pierre knew he was serious about the matter.

"Well, I can always have someone bring her to you." Pierre didn't mind the trouble. Never did.

"Pierre." Arius said grimly before breaking out into a grin. "You're the best."
