Aftermath of Termon

1 year forward.

After Termon was continuously besieged and multiple attempts to recapture the dock and port of the Empire, the end was an utter failure.

So the best possible thing the Empire could do to this situation is quarantining the entire city, to isolate it. However, not without any gains.

Martha started polishing her spear, it was a good one, newly made from dungeon materials itself. However, the reason why Martha was polishing her spear is that it was not given to her, only rented. And she feared that this expensive thing would be deducted from her savings.

She just got out of Termon after all.

"Attention!"

Martha stood up on high alert, her ears still not used to the noise the vents made. Her ears were sharp and always listening, she looked better like any soldier in the barracks.

The barracks now filled with attention-filled soldiers stood straight in a straight line, the one who yelled adorned in uniform and military armour stepped forward.

"Men and Women, you have 10 minutes to prepare, but it seems I won't have to alert you on that. So instead, I'll fill you in on what you are about to see on the battlefield. Would you like those soldiers?!"

"Yes, Staff Sergeant!"

"Good, a little information about the enemy ain't that bad." The man slowly walked forward, facing straight. Stern and regal. "What we are about to face are those barbaric tribes of the other continent. Something you might have heard of already. So I'm going to break it all to all of you. They aren't." with a stop, he looked back, already at the end of the barracks. "They only look barbaric for the eyes. Because if they were barbaric then we would have to deal with them like this. They can think, plan, organise and be decisive. If you see one kill in sight. These demons are cunning as they are in Myth and history."

The staff sergeant stopped at the door of the barracks.

"They came in many forms, but the ones I warn all of you about are the sudden cries of help on the battlefield, only listen to your helmet, not the actual battlefield when it comes to signals."

The staff sergeant turned around and faced the soldiers, the limited 16 in the room. These are the people that made it out of Termon after the raid. Some died fighting their way out just to be saved by the military.

Then the barracks turned red, The staff sergeant yelled "Let's move!"

All of the 16 lifted their bags along with their weapons and moved out in a single file line, the first in line being the staff sergeant.

Martha mentally sighed, Jane, Daniel and Kris didn't make it, she remembered vividly when they were stuck in the crossfire of the Military and the Mutants the trio was caught and brutally murdered by the mutants.

They were so close to being rescued by the military. But she knew anyway that God isn't on their side.

Soon after, the marching halted and they stood near a military envoy truck. One by one the 16 entered and the truck moved once more.

After a few minutes of travel, they could hear it. Gunshots, explosions and more. They also could feel the amount of mana being used. Pure mana from the side of humans and a lot of Nue Mana from the side of the demons.

A lot of them grimaced, some added with disgust and contempt. Demons, it was explained that the worms that these survivors witnessed are from the demons.

That's what the military said and they couldn't help but agree. There is no such thing in the human continent, that thing is clear.

A few more minutes later the truck stopped. And the fierce engagement of violence is still prevalent in the background. The soldiers stepped down one by one in a swift manner.

They were dropped down near multiple tents, large enough to house a dozen people. It was quite a distance from the action, looking to the far left Martha could see a lot of explosions.

A woman in uniform and military armour went out and approached the newly dropped-off soldiers and spoke.

"Are you the New Unit? The Super-Soldiers?"

The 16 soldiers nodded in affirmation, the moment the woman's words were confirmed she started to speak.

"Good, come with me."

She moved and entered the largest tent, and they all followed. What was inside was a table with a map on top of it and three people that seemed to be generals because of their uniforms.

"There's no need to salute." The oldest man in the room said "I'm General Kolvski, the one who will brief all of you on your mission."

The soldiers listened to the generals, asking questions when it was only necessary. They're on the border of the Demon and Human continents.

Right now, the skirmishes are going harder and harder. And the generals plan to end it by introducing the weapon that the weapons used against humans, against them.

They were also briefed on the strategies that they will use against the demons. Also, the demons present on the battlefield and their strategies.

"Once you get in this part of the land, dig yourself a trench using the Hercules Shovel and activate the beacon."

The room was solemn, every single soldier listening intently.

"After that, use your barriers, do this just to be cautious."

Then a loud explosion could be heard.

"Those are probably the artillery. Do all of you get the strategy?"

The soldiers responded this time with "Sir yes sir!"

"Good, start moving, time is not on our side so don't waste any." The general commanded.

The 16 went out of the tent and were escorted to a vehicle, four separate vehicles. A tank, an envoy truck and an armoured vehicle. Four went inside the armoured vehicle, 10 went in the truck and two went in the tank, one that will control and reload the turret.

With that set, they drove off to the crossfire.
