3 Chapter 3

Governor Scott's POV

NOTE:ANYTHING IN ASTERISKS MEANS THEIR INNER THOUGHT

I find myself back in the lobby of the office, I'm about to head out for a meeting when I hear my son call me back as he stepped out of the elevator.

"Hey Dad, wait up" I hear him say as he makes his way to me, I look for my secretary and tell her to tell my driver to bring the car around.

"Yes Eric, what do you need from me?" I ask while running out of patience, God knows this boy chooses the worst times to want to talk.

"Well you remember what I told you earlier this morning about the girl in the lobby?"

"Ah yes, the one giving you all those weird feelings am I correct?" I ask on

"Yes, so I ran into her again at the green house and this time, it was more intense, like something wanted to burst out"

I take my time before replying, *if anything is wrong shouldn't the seven have told me about it?*

I thought to myself. "Okay ummm, when last did you have your chipped checked out?" I ask him

"Around last month or so, what does it have to do with this?"

"It has everything to do with it, what I want you to do is go up to my office, tell the secretary to get you Isabelle Martin, she'll check your chip and if anything is wrong, she'll fix it" I said while making my way outside.

"Why are you in such a hurry?"

*This kid really gets to me sometimes*, "Well if you must know, I have a meeting I need to get to and time is of the essence"

"Oh I see, I'll see you when you get back then"

"Yes Eric, now to my office you go, the name is Isabelle Martin"

"Okay dad, Isabelle, I've got it"

And with that he disappears into the crowd of uniforms of different colors and I head on to my car. I enter the car and give my driver instructions on where we are headed, he nods and drives out of the lot. After about 20 minutes, my conversation with Eric starts playing in my mind and if what he's saying is true then The Seven should have reached me already, maybe it's nothing but I can't help but feel that something is wrong.

Another 10 minutes of contemplating what's wrong with my son and we finally get there, to the office of The Seven, the most powerful people in the world actually, they work in the dark and they are responsible for creating the new society we all live in. They have this weird family related vibe but then, they are all just people except with various resources at their disposal I see their cars parked in the lot and it is the most beautiful arrangement for the color black, they own the entire building that's as private as private gets.

I think about them on my way up and it keeps my kind busy for a while until I hear the *DING* of the elevator, I get off on the top floor and head straight down the to the conference room. The top floor is lovely, the kind that you'll never get used to walking into.

Without wasting another moment I enter the conference room and to my surprise, The Seven are not present yet, I saw their cars in the lot, maybe they're all busy or something. I take my position at the table and wait for them to come in and like usual, they all walk in in order of authority and we have Theophilus Snow, his second in command, Samuel Hart, followed by the third Gloria O'Brien and the fourth Octavia James, the fifth Jasmine Brown, the sixth Stephanie Maple and the seventh Alexander Hemmingway.

They all take their positions at the table and Theophilus said, "let the meeting begin" while he dusted his suit. Samuel stands and presents the issues we were here to discuss, things like the fall in demand for goods, the failing schools because we have less children in the society. Octavia said "even if we select these people to mate, it will take another nine months to bring children, so we need to make something work before then"

"I agree with that, it won't be of any use if we make them mate and we have to wait" Gloria spoke up

"Stephanie and I are almost done with the incubation process, it's now supposed to cut down the nine months wait by half, if not more" Alexander said and Stephanie agreed with him.

"We have stated the issues, we have the solutions yes?" Theophilus said, "When will the serum for speeding up the birth process be ready?" he asked Stephanie and Alexander

"We should be done finally by tomorrow" Stephanie spoke up

"Okay, good, Gloria, where are we with the update for the chips?"

"Samuel said we needed to run some more tests on it, so we should be done by the end of this week" she said in her babyish voice. She's pretty but she's the most ruthless of The Seven and that's what makes her third in command.

"Yes, I wanted to add some other features to it, so I told her we'd run tests on it" Samuel said

"Okay then, with that all sorted out, I suppose we can take out leave" he said while staring at me in particular. They all stand up and I do too, except they leave in an ascending order, from Alexander to Theophilus.

I follow after Theophilus and on his way out, he looks back at me and says "Scott, Alexander noticed there's something wrong in your son's bio readings, it's nothing something to ignore, get it checked and fixed before we do so for you" and with that he left me in the room with nothing else but the recurring thought of what could be wrong with my son.
