Chapter 2: Research: FRSil

Elrisha

As we got into another part of the room, everything really screamed laboratory since all the equipment that needs to preformed one was all in here. I don't want to name them all since it's a complete package when doing research – blood research.

"Lady Elrisha, can I ask you something?" Mirna suddenly breaks the ice of silence that's starting to build around us which I didn't care about answering her.

"Okay…I'll ask anyway." She continued as she noticed that I am not going to say anything but I am right. I already know that she's going to ask either I allowed her or not. She's been doing that ever since we became a research partner for five days already.

"It kept bothering me about the FRSil. I wonder where the idea came from or why it must be created? I just want to make sure what we're dealing with." I rolled my eyes as I took a deep sigh since she supposed to ask me that since day one but she chooses to ask on day five of being a research partner.

"For starter, you should be asking me that since day one and not now." I bluntly told her which made her chuckled shyly.

"FRSil stands for Fallen Rogue Silver. It's a research that was created by Doctor Rean Aspire that's a rare remedy but she didn't finish it for some reason." I started as we both headed to our designated table that's across each other since both tables were in parallel positions.

"Why she created that weird name and why she didn't finish it?" she asked as she started on setting up her table for her experiment.

"I am not sure exactly why she didn't finish it but FRSil has its own meaning why she called it that way. All I know was that she created that remedies to sustain or contained the virus from spreading in her cousin's system." I answered her indirectly since she's a human being which I am not sure if she really had knowledge of the existence of any night creatures around her.

"I see but why Lady Syrina wanted to continue that research?" she wondered. She's totally curious about something that caught her interest.

"To help whoever has the same illness that their cousin had. They both didn't want anyone to go through that kind of pain. That's why we're here, finishing what they've already started." I sort of lied about what we're researching but also it's partly true. The Aspire clan and the Cross clan decided to make a kind of medicine that could lessen the aggressiveness of a fallen rogue as we also hoped their attacks will lessen as well.

"Did it help their cousin?" she asked while I was getting some Rean's remaining blood sample that Syrina and I extracted before she decided to give her spot to Mirna – a human. I honestly wanted to break her neck but nope, she's more qualified on doing that kind of thing.

"Yeah, it does but not entirely." I flatly answered while I am dropping some blood over the watch glass that's already containing silver. I already prepared some while Mirna was talking to me.

"Elaborate please." She said which made me looked back at her and her eyes glued on the microscope.

"There are side effects like being unable to control the anger, violent, blocking out, seeking blood in their hands, losing the sight what really matters which also meant of losing oneself or losing the sense of life like they don't have any soul anymore." I explained a little more to her as she handed me her own notes about her research.

"That's like dead." She sounded like she's going to puke or something.

"You can say that but worst because they could hurt anyone." I smiled but my focus was still on the failed reaction.

"Is it contagious?" she wondered while looking at her note then back to the microscope.

"Nope. But having an unstable clouded mind or losing the self over power, that's something really hard to prevent." I honestly told her what may it cause but it's really worse than any human being.

"So this med will help the psychiatric ward?" she wondered with hope in her tone.

"Yes but those only who really need the med and only if we succeed on making this one." I answered while I am also writing down some notes about the failed reaction over Rean's blood and silver.

It took us five hours or more than we've planned on staying inside the research laboratory and it's making my nose started itching. I started cracking my neck from being stiff and even my shoulder until felt a chill. This chill wasn't any threatening but more on a good chill that made me wanted it around me all the time though it's making my nose itch. I mean, really itchy. I suddenly stood up from my chair before I went back to our table locker and sneezed.

"You okay?" she suddenly asked she took a peek from the doorway of the laboratory.

"Oh, I'm fine…just an itch. My nose is itchy." I groaned as I sneeze on a tissue paper.

"Do you want to take a quick break?" she wondered as she leaned over my table locker.

"I am now. Do you need a break?" I nodded as I asked her the same question that she threw at me.

"Well, if you do I will." She shrugged her shoulders before she went to her table to get something from her bag.

"Great." I groaned before sneezing once again.

"I think you need to get a check on that. You never know what it might lead into." She suggested which I am thankful for her thoughtfulness but it wasn't the case.

Another silence wrapped around our table locker and it was totally great for my hearing since she's been talking for I am not sure anymore for how many hours before this. Anyway, I took a deep breath before heading back to the laboratory to continue what I've been doing before I kept sneezing a while ago.

"I want it to be done." I groaned as my nose started to itch once again. It's irritating till I felt something vibrating at the table.

I looked from where it was coming and it was coming from Mirna's table. She put something in sterilizing machine. I am not sure what she put there but it was making a weird vibration.

"Dr. James, I think you need to check what you've been sterilizing." I reminded her while I went back on checking another reaction from silver and the extracted blood.

"Coming." She almost shouted while walking back to her working table and about to check the sterilizing machine.

"What did you put in there?" I wondered before looking to my other mix over the test tubes.

"The extracted blood from the first med. I have to check if there's something in it before dropping at the silver since I saw the failed reaction on your side earlier." She honestly answered as she took out the sterilized test tube with the extracted blood.

"That's nice. Get me that stat ready before we take some lunch." I never thought of taking it on sterilizing which made me wanted to see if it works over the silver.

"Alright." She smiled before taking two drops to be check over the microscope that's in front of her.

As we're checking the data from our previews experiment, I've noticed something over the sample blood that we just extracted. I reread the data over and over again before scribbling keywords over my note then showed it to Mirna. At first, she didn't get why I am lending her my note but when I insisted for her to read it, her facial expression was from serious to surprise.

"Rean's blood could only lessen it but with her cousin alone." Mirna noticed after she read all the data we just gathered comparing to my notes.

"We need to make new blood." I directly told her.

"Artificial blood?" she guessed before glancing back over my notes.

"Yes, we're going to make a blood from scratch." I told her which made her looked directly at me. Seriously, that piercing gaze – well she's not glaring at me or something but it sent a thousand volts of shivers on my spine which I am not sure if I like it or not.

"From what or whose blood we're going to make that?" she wondered about my idea.

"That's the thing. I don't know but we could try on a blood type O before trying on the other blood type. We still don't know what reaction we might get through this experiment." I honestly told her that this was an experiment that both Syrina and I made before. We hadn't tried it before.

"Great. I'll call the bio lab they might have some spare blood that we might need here." She smiled at me before lending me back my notes and get up to make some calls at the BioResearch Lab.

This was gonna be a very long working hour without leaving the laboratory.
