She replied, and an annoyed expression made its way to Luthiel's face.
"You idiot, must you know everything?" He questioned her, and she shrugged at him.
"Well, yes. I mean, we were on good terms earlier, and now you are suddenly so cold to me."
She sighed, and he pinched his brows in disbelief.
"I am not mad at you or anything. I am just pondering over something that I really hope is not true, because if it turns out to be true, then it means I have to kill the person."
He clarified, and Yennefer arched her brow at him.
"Hmmm... my condolences to whoever it is that is going to suffer." She clicked her tongue in a bit of concern, and Luthiel raised his head to look at her.
A smirk spread across his face amused that she has no idea she is the one.
He rested his back and shut his eyes while Yennefer laid down on the bed and slowly drifted off to sleep.
[2:00 am]
Yennefer turned on the bed, suddenly feeling very uncomfortable.
She tightened her eyes and grabbed onto her chest, feeling herself no longer able to breathe properly.
"L-Luthiel." She called, but Luthiel, who was fast asleep, replied not.
A deep, painful groan exited her throat, and she slowly sat up on the bed.
She grasped her chest even more tightly, and with all the strength she could muster, she stood up from the bed and proceeded to stagger towards Luthiel.
"L-Luthiel." She grabbed onto his hand the moment she arrived near him, but because she was already very weak, she ended up falling to the floor, causing Luthiel to immediately wake up.
"What is it, no—Yennefer?" He immediately sprang up from the chair on seeing her on the floor and fell to his knees.
"Yennefer! Yennefer! What is wrong with you?" He asked in a panic, and Yennefer reached out her hand to touch him.
"I-I can't b-breathe." She inhaled heavily, and Luthiel, who couldn't understand what was going on, placed his hand on her pale face only to feel how cold she was.
"You're so cold." He panicked even more and carefully lifted her into his arms.
He carried her towards the bed and laid her down.
He turned around to rush out and get the physician for her, but Yennefer grabbed her by the hem of his cloth, stopping him on his track.
"Please don't leave me. Don't go." She pleaded with eyes filled with tears, feeling herself so close to death, and Luthiel, who felt so hurt to see her in that state where she looked like she would die any minute from now, hurried back to her.
He squatted down to her level and gently caressed her hair.
"Wait here for me, okay? I'm going to get the physician for you. Just wait for me, please." He smiled gently at her and quickly rushed out of the chamber.
He dashed down the stairs and proceeded towards the physician's manor.
He turned the door handle, but a darkened expression emerged on his face the instant he realized that the door was locked.
"Hey!! Open the door!" He shouted, but Celvit, who was fast asleep, ignored him.
"You idiot!" Luthiel's anger rose, and he furiously kicked the door off the wall.
The door fell to the floor with a heavy thud, and Celvit immediately awoke from his sleep.
He blinked his eyes, and upon sighting Luthiel, who was aggravated, a slight frown settled in between his brows.
"General, what are you-"
"You bastard!" Luthiel immediately grabbed him by the throat and glared angrily at him.
"Follow me." He pulled him along and stormed towards his chamber.
He pushed the door open and yanked Celvit inside.
"Treat her now!" He yelled at him, and Celvit furiously nodded his head.
He hurried towards Yennefer, who had already fallen unconscious on the bed, and quickly grabbed her hand.
He felt her purse, and his eyes fluttered, realizing that he couldn't quite tell if he could feel it or not.
"What happened to her?" He asked, and Luthiel immediately panicked in cluelessness.
"I do not know. Is she okay?" He asked nervously and Celvit blinked his eyes.
"I-I can't really feel her purse. She's still breathing, but I do not think she will last until tomorrow."
He explained, and Luthiel's heart instantly dropped to his stomach.
"What do you mean by that? If she dies, I will kill you!" He threatened, and Celvit's hands trembled furiously.
He looked at Yennefer, and knowing that something must have put her in this state, he grabbed her head and turned it, only to see two bite marks on her neck.
"Snake!" He exclaimed, and Luthiel, who was confused, furrowed his brows at him.
"Snake! What do you mean?" He questioned and Celvit turned to look at him with a horrified expression on his face.
