After a few weeks of hiding their relationship, Adeline finally made up her mind to inform Abigail and Molly about her relationship with Erick. At first, she still felt uneasy about it, but didn't they deserve to know the truth despite everything that has happened?
(In Molly's apartment)
"Was this the reason why you wanted to go home early?" Abigail folded her arms. "Just to tell us your relationship with him?"
"I-I'm sorry that I kept it a secret. I just couldn't find the right time to tell you." Adeline looked away.
"Well at least you've gotten over your pathetic first love, but...how about Abby...? Will she be okay....?" Molly leaned back on her chair.
"I'm glad he makes you happy." Abigail tried holding her tears back. "Seeing you smile is more than enough for me."
Adeline gave Abigail a hug. "I-I really didn't mean to fall in love with him. I just can't stop thinking about him. Erick brings out the best of me. I-I'm sorry..."
"If he's the reason behind your smile then I'll let him go. Let him take care of you and love you."
"Don't you love—"
"I love him, but we aren't meant for each other."
"I'm sorry... It's all my fault..."
"Don't blame yourself. I've told you a hundred times that feelings can't be controlled right?" Abigail let out a fake smile.
"I can't stand seeing you—"
"When you try to control everything, you enjoy nothing, Adele. I'm giving him to you. Take care of him alright...?"
"Abby..." Adeline bursted into tears. "Are you su-sure about this?"
"We had a fair fight didn't we?" Abigail patted her back. "You won and it's time for me to back off."
"I don't want you holding a grudge against me. Tell me if you're—"
"Why would I? I'm not giving up our friendship just for a man. I actually knew from the beginning that you were Erick's type, but even though there was a chance that he might fall for you, I still didn't hesitate to let you in my company because our friendship means more than that doesn't it...? Our limitless laughs, our countless memories, and our endless friendship...can't be replaced by love can it?"
"You...I never expected that from you..."
Molly bursted into laughter. "What a speech, Abby! We're so touched!"
Abigail rolled her eyes. "It wasn't for you, stupid."
"You must treasure us a lot don't you?"
"You were the only ones that had the courage to befriend me despite knowing the consequences. You guys knew that I was being bullied back at freshman year, yet you still talked to me as if nothing happened..."
"Be strong enough to walk away from those that continue to hurt you and be brave enough to walk alone until you find the one that deserves you, Abby."
"You can't continue to move forward if you continue to carry the baggage from the past and when you let go, you create space for something better." Adeline smiled. "Isn't that what you told me when I was still in love with Nic?"
"Pfff! I just got that from the internet anyway." Abigail played with the tips of her hair.
"The fact that you told me about it is what matters."
Abigail simultaneously smirked and squinted. "Are you telling me to move on so that you wouldn't have to worry about me falling in love with him again?"
"I just don't want you to get hurt."
"One more time I hear you say that, I'll really steal Erick from you."
"You might feel uncomfortable...being with us... I know it takes time to let go, but I can't stand seeing you give us fake—"
"It doesn't matter." Abigail smiled. "I'm moving out soon."
