Face him

"Nope. You are not going back," Jin Hyeok said, Ha Eun gasped; it was like he read her mind. "I didn't read your mind, madame. You are just being completely obvious. Anyways, the longer you wait, the harder it is going to be."

Ha Eun nodded but still felt worried Chang Wook would reject her. As she walked through the town, she noticed some familiar faces, especially Mi Jin. She was walking on the other side of the road, but the two girls recognized each other instantly.

Mi Jin smiled at Ha Eun brightly. She ran towards Ha Eun and hugged her, "It's been so long!" she said. Then Mi Jin quickly let go of her, remembering how the news and social media were making fun of Chang Wook for being dumped by Ha Eun, calling it trouble in paradise and saying he wasn't good enough for her.

Mi Jin quickly composed herself and looked at Ha Eun angrily. Ha Eun sighed, knowing why that was. She wanted to explain herself, but that meant she'd have to explain everything, and she didn't have time for that. At least not now.

"Why are you here?" Mi Jin asked her.

"I'm here to see Chang Wook," Ha Eun answered.

"No, you don't just get to waltz in here all high and mighty thinking that Chang Wook will just go to you with open arms," Mi Jin said as she waved one of her arms around at her.

"First of all, get your hand out of my face, and second of all, what happens between Chang Wook, and I is our business," Ha Eun clapped back. Mi Jin looked at her, surprised, and Ha Eun couldn't help but feel slightly mean. Mi Jin was never rude to her when she came to visit Chang Wook's family. If anything, she was welcoming. Mi Jin had every right to be angry with her due to the news and social media making it sound like she had broken Chang Wook's heart. And here Ha Eun was, being rude to her. Mi Jin is just defending her friend. She should keep her boss personality and her genuine personality separate when it comes to conversations like these.

"I'm sorry," Ha Eun told her, "Chang Wook and I got separated under not-so-great circumstances. I'm just here to make things right." Mi Jin looked at her skeptically but noticed a hint of nervousness in her eyes. With that Mi Jin could tell Ha Eun wasn't lying, and either way, Mi Jin had no power to stop Ha Eun from going to Chang Wook; it was up to Chang Wook whether he wanted to meet with her or not.

"You should go to him, madame?" Jin Hyeok said. It was only then that Mi Jin noticed Ha Eun wasn't alone. Mi Jin was taken aback by his beauty. In her eyes, he looked like an actor or an idol. He was dressed in a fancy suit, and how he addressed Ha Eun, Mi Jin could tell he worked for her.

"Was he her new secretary?" Mi Jin wondered. Ha Eun could tell by Mi Jin's gaze that she found Jin Hyeok attractive, and if Ha Eun didn't know any better, she must have fallen for him at first sight. He was on the older side for Ha Eun's taste, but she couldn't deny that Jin Hyeok was attractive.

"Jin Hyeok, can you explain what's happened to Mi Jin. I don't want her to have the wrong idea," Ha Eun told Jin Hyeok. He seemed slightly taken aback by this. He looked at Mi Jin, who was looking at him with awe and saw Ha Eun with a slight smile. He knew right away why she did this. She wants to set him up with Mi Jin.

"I apologize, madame, but I have direct instructions from Mr. Oh that I will not leave your side," Jin Hyeok said.

"No, you have direct instructions to do what I say. And what I am saying right now is to stay with Mi Jin," Ha Eun told him. She then powerwalked away before he could say anything else.

….

When Ha Eun reached Chang Wook's home, no one was outside. As she looked through the windows up front, she couldn't see anyone either. Had they gone out? One thing was dealing with Chang Wook but confronting her in-laws and having them yell and stop her from meeting Chang Wook is another thing altogether.

She decided to go to the back and see if anyone was there, and to her surprise, she saw the back of someone's head. They were sitting in a reclined chair under the shade of a beach umbrella. She could tell who it was even from a mile away.

Ha Eun turned around and got a small mirror in her purse to look at herself. Her makeup was on point, and her hair was perfectly combed. Oh, but she could use some lip gloss. She looked in her purse and passed some on her lips. Perfect! Now she looked down at her clothes. Was it wrinkled anywhere? Are there any stains? She can't look at her back, but hopefully, it's okay.

"Don't worry, there aren't any stains on the back, and it's not wrinkled either." Ha Eun widened her eyes; she knew who it was and felt completely embarrassed. How long had he been looking at her as she struggled to make sure she looked okay?

"I noticed you when you were looking at yourself in the mirror," he said. Ha Eun couldn't turn around to face him. He had noticed her from the very beginning. She was so embarrassed and could feel her face grow hot.

"Are you embarrassed?" he asked. She could feel his breath on her neck. He was so close!

Ha Eun quickly turned around with her head down and yelled, "I'm not!" She couldn't bear to look at him. Suddenly she felt his finger suddenly pull her face upward to get her to look at him in the eye. Before she could get her thoughts in order; he placed his hands on her cheeks and pulled her towards him as he leaned down, closing what little space they had between them. Ha Eun couldn't stop herself from looking at his lips, and Chang Wook accepted her invitation. He quickly placed his soft lips against hers. It was gentle. Both of them feeling like they are the only two people on earth. As Chang Wook slowly pulled his lips away from Ha Eun's to look at her, he suddenly noticed her wrap her arms around his neck and pull him towards her. Rather than surprised, he was happy that she kissed him back.

Oh, she will never know how much he missed her and desperately yearned for her kiss.

They are finally back together
