Once Tatsuya completely covered my vision, I looked up at him with distrust. Tatsuya kneeled so that our eye levels were equal. The ice cold stare I was use to was nowhere to be found. Instead, soft snow awaited me. I unconsciously swallowed.

"Haruka." Tatsuya looked down. When he moved his arm, I realized he was looking down at my hands. He went to reach for my hand but retracted. "Do you need my help?"

"Ngh." My throat suddenly closed up on me, and my eyes started to water.

Fuck, being asked if I need help is as bad as when I'm asked if I'm okay. The sudden wave of emotions that pour out when you're shown kindness in a moment of weakness is hard to stop.

I hate how ingrained it is in humans to feel relief at being able to rely on someone, even if it's a stranger or an enemy.
