5 5: Training Gear

"Heavy clothing you say?"

After a night of rest and a lot of food for the poor Rayne who was forced to run around the city for an entire day. He now stands again in Conut's office but with an unexpected request.

"Why would you want something like that?" Dr. Conut stared at Rayne with curiosity.

Rayne scratched the back of his head with a sheepish smile. Unlike yesterday when he was still wearing rags and worn-out clothes. He now smelled like lavender and was wearing loose clothes that don't get in his way when training.

"It doesn't have to be heavy clothes, weights that are easy to wear would also help if you have them. I want to use it to become stronger much faster!"

Grow... Stronger? Conut blinked his eyes in surprise. "Are you sure you want to do this? Wouldn't it be better to focus on your studies?"

Rayne smiled and didn't deny his words. "Mr. Conut, the best vessel for a sharp mind is a healthy body, even if I take the scholar path, I still shouldn't neglect my body. In all these years, the main reason I could get away from many troubles was that I was in much better shape than most people."

Hearing those heartfelt words, Conut laughed happily and nodded many times. "Well said! When I think about it, the main reason why I get so tired and stressed every day is that my body is in bad shape, and can't keep up with my routine! Thank you for enlightening me!

"As for the things you asked... Don't worry, we will make them for you and have them prepared before you depart in an hour."

Nodding excitedly, Rayne bowed. "Thank you very much! With these, I'll be one step closer to my dream!"

Stepping out of the office, Rayne was then taken to the airfield where the company's airplanes were parked. He embarked on one of the smaller ones with a capacity of 12 passengers and sat down near the window.

From the plane's position, he had a good view of North City. Seeing the skyscrapers and the lights of the city from far away, he sighed with some nostalgia in his eyes.

Four years... It's been four years since he came to this world. Ever since then, he experienced the life of an orphan, living at the edge of society, and looking at death in the eyes more than once. Be it because of hunger, or because he angered the wrong person.

During all these years, he had a positive mindset and did his best to build good relationships as he worked to have something to eat every day.

Others might take pity on him, but for a shut-in who previously only knew how to rely on his parent's inheritance and create cheat tools... This was a type of trial by flames in which he completely reforged his state of mind and personality.

If he was back on his original Earth, hard work and dedication would never have entered his vocabulary. What those challenges gave him was the ability to take care of himself and properly face the harsh reality. He wasn't an entitled brat anymore, he finally understands the value of hard work and dedication.

It's only with this mentality that he might be able to take on the many challenges that await him in the future.

Thinking of this he opened his IAT (Idle Assistant Tool) and looked at his skills.

He kept running away from the thugs of the Red Ribbon Army for an entire day. They ambushed him many times and after they discovered his actual strength, it became far more difficult to take any one of them out as they were much more ruthless and reckless than before.

He lost count of how many times he was beaten up yesterday. If not for him buying the third and fourth slots, he might have failed the mission.

Still, his gains were undeniable! Even though he was quite weak and young, he felt like he could run an entire day without rest thanks to his Run skill!

The better get got at each skill the more he understood that they were giving him insight into how to better perform certain actions. His wastage of energy when running is practically non-existent now, and the way he runs also helps reduce fatigue and pain during long runs.

It was like the difference between a marathon athlete and a toddler running! There's simply no comparison between him now from him of a few days ago.

Not only that, with his Natural Reflex, Straight Punch, and Punching Bag skills combined, he should be able to defeat any person that has not undergone any form of martial training as long as the difference in physical attributes isn't abysmal.

And that is because those skills are already able to assist him in making up for the lack of systematic training in martial arts, techniques, and other such abilities.

Thinking about how much the IAT helped him, a grin spread through his face. So long as he persevered, he felt like he could find a way to surpass the likes of Goku and Vegeta.

After a while, a few people came inside and started choosing their seats as the pilots prepared to take off.

One person approached him and gave him a suitcase weighing about 20 kg.

Inside was a pair of armbands and a pair of leg bands, each one weighed 5 kg.

Accompanying them was a note with instructions and something that looked like a small remote controller.

"Rayne, this is what we managed to do with the little time we had, it's based on the capsule technology but with the weight setting being personalizable. With this, you can set the weight of the arm and leg bands at any range you want between 5 kg and 20 kg."

After reading the note and the instructions, Rayne smiled foolishly. He didn't expect to get something so good!

Once he put them on, the weight was enough to make him unable to stand up! This was almost doubling his weight!

What made him more surprised however was the notification that appeared on the IAT.
