1 Explosive Exit

Inside a small room, a young man was laying down on his bed. as he looked at the screen of his phone that was being held by a gooseneck holder.

"Iris, upgrade armor 10 times for Ryan, also upgrade fire rate of Ariel 7 times."

As he was talking to his phone he heard steps coming towards his room and stopping in front of the door. He heard someone take a deep breath and not much later the doorknob moved and the door swung open.

He strained his neck and found a smiling young man who was in his early 20s holding a bowl, "Alex, how are you doing little brother?"

Alex used his head to gesture at the phone that was above his head, "I'm doing good just playing this new idle game that came out. It's pretty basic all I have to do is survive waves of enemies with heroes that you summon. After 10 waves you go against the heroes of the person ranked above you."

His brother gave him a short nod and placed the bowl down, "Interesting, looks like IdleGod911 has found a new game to conquer."

Alex laughed and looked back at his screen, "It's pretty easy to do when you can't play more complicated games. This new phone that was developed really helps but it still has limits. I can only use Iris to give basic commands on what I want to upgrade. It's really useful to read manga though this way I don't have to have you read it for me."

His brother nodded and was about to say something but he froze.

Seeing that his brother began to become angry he followed his gaze and found a beer bottle near the window.

"Umm, Dad came in here to watch some soccer, he must have accidentally left that there."

His older brother clenched his fists and Alex could see the rest of his body tense up, "When is that fucker going to stop drinking! He already ruined your life and he still hasn't learned! If he wasn't our father I would have already kicked his ass."

"Calm down Lucas, what happened back then was an accident. After I ended up paralyzed he also had to deal with both mom's anger and yours. It's been hard for him."

Lucas slammed his hand on the nightstand, "It's been hard on all of us! If he wasn't such a fucking drunk he would have never had the car accident. The worst part is that he only ended up with a few bruises and a broken arm while you, who was only a 6 year old, have become paralyzed from the neck down. He has stolen 10 years and the many more that you are going to live. How can you keep defending him!"

Alex looked at his brother and imagined clenching his own fists 'You think that I'm not pissed! I've been nothing but a pain in your lives, that breath you took before entering my room, and the anger that you are showing right now, I know it! You probably got dumped again for spending so much time taking care of me. Yeah, that's right! I know about everything thanks to dad who gets drunk and starts telling me everything. You have to do everything since mom can't even look at me! All I know is that the house is our father's inheritance, if he and mom divorce I'll make your lives even harder!'

"I don't defend him Lucas I just put myself in his shoes. Anyway, let me have some of that chicken soup, it looks really good."

His brother sighed and placed it on his bed, "Don't think I don't know you're trying to change the conversation. Oh, looks like I forgot the spoon, give me a second I'll go get it."

When Lucas had left the room, he let out a deep breath. He wanted to say something to help his brother but if he said anything then his brother would try harder to hide things. If anything Lucas would probably blame himself for unconsciously bringing his problems to him.

Alex silently cursed his life, "Sorry for making you have to go through this, Lucas, I'm blessed to have you as my brother."

"BZZZ BZZZ"

He turned around to look at the phone which had just vibrated but as soon as Alex did a loud noise hit his ears and his vision was flooded by flames for a second before everything turned dark.
