Chapter 1Introduction

A chill swept through Kimberly as she saw her sister looking at the dress her dog just peed on.

Kimberly and Jasmine Reign were not very identical twin sisters, but were different to the extent one would know the difference at first sight.

Kimberly Reign, the oldest between the two was beautiful, cheerful, mercenary, smart and spoilt.

She studied fashion designing in one of the best art schools in a country not so far away and she had one of the best brand of clothes and accessories and was doing really good in her company.

Jasmine Reign in some cases was the opposite of Kimberley. She was gorgeous, cold, unpredictable, calculating, smart, intelligent and self-made.

She was the youngest and richest among the Reign kids.

As a result of her being closest to her Dad, she was given 'Legacy' as a birthday gift. She followed him to work, watched him read and sign papers, conduct meetings and give out instructions which the employees carried out immediately without protest, she had always wanted to be like him, and when she did, she became the best.

Everyone thought Jasmine Reign was born to reign over the business world and no one could compare.

However, in the business world, she had one enemy. Dylan Smith.

"Stay away from my stuff." She said coldly, walking past her.

"I will remember that." Kimberly said knowing Jasmine didn't repeat things twice.

"Pack my stuff." Jasmine said, just as Kimberly had expected. She turned to her Sister again. "Coffee?"

"Jas, didn't you come just now? I'm sure Mom and Dad will be here any moment." Kimberly shrugged, ignoring the feeling of Jasmine's cold eyes on her.

"I won't ever tell you not to call me that."

"Yeah, yeah, sorry, not sorry, Jasmine. You know I tend to give people nicknames."

Jasmine only shook her head and muttered something Kimberly didn't make out.

She still turned a second time, when she heard the Butler. "Sir, Ma'am."

Opening both arms wide, she curled her lips in a pout as she walked to them. "Where have you been?!"

"We just saw yesterday and you're this excited to see us?" Hazel beamed, rubbing her hair.

"I'm not like Jasmine."

"True enough," Ray looked over Kimberly's shoulder at his Daughter, "I don't think someone is happy to see us even if we haven't seen for days."

"Not even a little." She agreed without the intention of showing any hint of warmth.

"You little liar." Hazel giggled, pulling away from Kimberly's arms.

"Has anyone ever told you, you're childish?"

"Ah, if your Dad is anything to go by."

Kimberly looked behind her Mum, but she didn't see anybody, her brows furrowed. "Mom, where are the two Devils?"

"We heard that." Keeon said, just as he emerged from the door with Jason behind him, frowning at Kimberly.

Seeing her was one of the things he didn't like very much.

Kimberly scoffed.

"You were meant to!" She spat, looking at him with the same displeased expression he had on his face.

"Mom?" He called out, crossing his arms over his chest.

She eyed him with disgust. "What responsible Man would call his Mom while having a little argument with his Little Sister?" He was just about the most ridiculous person she met in her entire life.

"Shut up." Jasmine ordered icily like the mature one, but Ray shook his head at her disapprovingly.

"Jasmine?" He said reminding her to 'respect her elders', but Jason didn't seem to mind as he bent to hug her.

"You're the best for these two." He whispered in her ear before he straightened.

He was the oldest and closest to Jasmine. When they were little, he would follow her where ever she went which obviously annoyed her.

He tucked her into bed and read her bedtime stories and she thought of it as preposterous and amateur, but she just realized she was used to it when he left for college.

"It's high time you behave like the older one." Keeon said, pointing at Jasmine with his chin.

"Mom?"

"Now you're doing it?" Keeon said disgustedly.

"I don't think you would like it if Jasmine told you again." Jason's face darkened as he looked down on the two of them knowing Jasmine didn't often go with two words.

The butler arrived just at the right time and cleared his throat when he saw Keeon and Kimberly glaring at each other since Jason shunned them.

"Food is served." He said and walked away as hurriedly as he could when he managed to catch sight of Jasmine.

Kimberly turned to walk to the dining, but she stopped and looked over her shoulder, "you better stay away from me so that I won't choke." It was obvious she was talking to Keeon, but the guy smirked at her.

"You don't just know how badly I would like to make you choke." He drawled and Kimberly turned to give him a final glare before she walked away.

"Nonsense." She muttered under her breath. Keeon heard, but ignoring her, he walked right past her.

"Jasmine," she looked up at her Mum. "Won't you eat?" She shook her head.

Hazel wanted to say something more, but Jason stopped her with his knowledge of Jasmine.

"You know nothing can change her mind if she doesn't want to."

Pleased with Jason's interference, she dialed her Secretary. "Put the calls through." She ordered once the call was picked up.

"Jasmine put the phone down for tonight." Ray said. Of course he was a business man and knew the demands of work, but Jasmine ignored him completely.

"That design is pathetic."

"Oh my." Hazel said unconsciously at her daughter's bluntness. How were her workers coping?

When Jasmine was done talking to her employee or rather ordering him, she put the phone down and picked up her purse.

"Jasmine," Hazel sighed. "Rest for the night, okay?" She finished a bit worried though she knew Jasmine would never listen, she liked doing things at her own pace. She could even describe her as a workworm, like father, like daughter.

"She seems to be in a hurry to leave, Mum. Let her go if work is more important than family." Kimberly said not looking very pleased with Jasmine.

Everyone just wanted to impress Jasmine and Kimberly was not an exception, the dinner was a part of it, but it seemed her sister had an invisible barrier that didn't allow any emotion to break or cross it.

Jasmine stood up. "I'm trying to finish tomorrow's work for today." She bothered to explain.

"Oh, you're rescheduling tomorrow's work for today?" Keeon asked, but he got no response as Jasmine squinted at him. What else was she saying if not that?

"Some people just can't keep quiet." Kimberly said shaking her head slowly. She was obviously referring to Keeon and he wanted badly to say something, but he remembered Jasmine's cold voice and clamped his mouth shut.

Then as if a light bulb lit up in Kimberly's head, she looked up at Jasmine excitedly. "Then we can go on a family picnic."

"Tomorrow is Friday." Jason said.

"Jasmine rests tommorow, then we go on Saturday." Keeon completed. One of the first times Kimberly had a good idea.

"I'm going." Jasmine got up, picked her purse and headed to the door.

"Don't stress yourself." Ray called out, but the door closed before he was sure he heard.

"She heard it. She just pretended not to." Kimberly smiled at her sister's 'don't tell me what to do' attitude.

This book will be focusing on plot, action, depths of character bonds and overall a darker tone/take on this cruel fantasy world I've cooked up for this book! If you give this book a try, I hope you enjoy! A very different experience and tone to Nanomancer Reborn.

Arlan's gaze darkened with hatred. “If I knew I was betrothed to you, I would have killed myself before you even killed me!” Oriana mirrored the same emotions as him. He pulled out a dagger and offered it to her. “It’s not too late. Just slit your throat with this and you'll bleed out painlessly.” She accepted the knife, her fingers clutching its handle tightly. The next moment, he was pressed against the wall and the knife was on the right side of his neck. “How about I try it on you first, my betrothed?” “Feel free to try. But when you fail, this knife will first taste your grandpa's blood, then yours.” Anger rose in her eyes, and the next moment, blood was flowing through the right side of his neck. She cut deep enough to severe an important blood vessel. “You should not have challenged me,” she sneered and stepped back, waiting for him to collapse. He simply smirked and brushed his finger along the deep wound on his neck. “Seems like you failed.” She watched the wound on his neck heal on its own and felt shocked to her bones. “You.. what are you?” “Guess?” ----- Instagram- mynovel.20 Facebook- Author mynoveltwenty

QI's system right now categorizes all novels taken from the female novel Chinese site (起点女生网) as 'romance' without fail, regardless of whether they truly are romance. So, if you are here just for the romance, you might want to find a different novel. There will be some romance eventually, but most of this novel is Sci-Fi/Xianxia with a lot of world-building and character development. 2) I use British spelling. "Really? Or is it because last night affected you so much that you couldn't stand being around me?" "Don't flatter yourself, Snow. You didn't affect me at all." He smirked, stepping closer. "Is that so?" His fingers brushed my chin, tilting my face up. My pulse quickened. "We're at work," I snapped, swatting his hand away. "This isn't professional." "You're my wife," he murmured. "You're supposed to obey me at all times." I bit back a retort, a hint of rebellion flaring within. Slowly, I stepped closer, letting my fingers graze his chest. His smirk wavered for a second when his wolf reacted and Snow bit his lips. "Careful, Boss," I purred seductively. "Don't hurt those lips. I'm sure plenty of girls would love to kiss them." Snow leaned down, his lips brushing my ear. "And you? Are you dying for a taste?" Caught off guard, I hesitated, then regained my composure as I looked him in the eyes. "Unlike other girls, I have strong resistance against—" I didn't get a chance to finish when Snow's lips crashed onto mine with a fierce kiss that left me breathless. *************** MATURE CONTENT Participating in the Viral Book Call Contest.
