C7: Time Flies & Surprises

Breakfast the next day was normal but mom was more happier and up-beat than usual. I guess the talk we had yesterday about me wanting to be a hero and the reasons for it relieved whatever worried her.

I'm glad seeing mom in a chipper mode and so does my sister. Evidence to the fact that she would giggle from time to time without any reason when seeing mom.

That has been my daily life for the past 1year and 6months. A happy breakfast with my family (except Enji ofcourse), being patient in school while practicing my acting and hardening my poker face, a quick and easy work out as well as practicing with my quirk by repetitions and brainstorming different ideas and moves in the afternoon, have a scrumptious dinner then finally spending time with mom and Fuyumi before going to bed.

I got used to pre-school at that point. Dealing with kids is easy due to my past experience as a caretaker in the orphanage, the hard part at first was how to act infront of the teachers. I dont want to be singled out by being called a genius and given special treatment. I have always hated that even from my past life, special treatment for those geniuses and the ones who dont deserve it. I should probobly brase myself for the future specially since Enji, my father, is the number2 hero. Thankfully my acting was good enough, atmost, they taught of me as a polite and caring kid who is a bit more mature than usual.

After getting home from school, a short and simple workout before quirk practice. I work out enough to the point that I wont harm my little and underdeveloped body while quirk practice was just me creating different stuff over and over again. While practicing my quirk though, I would incorporate moves and techniques I remember from different movies and animes. While practicing, Fuyumi would be nearby playing with her toys and dolls. Sometimes she would watch me and cheer asking about the different things I was making, shes curious as a toddler should be.

Mom would then call us for dinner. We would talk about what we did for the day as well as a few topics to discuss while we eat.

Spending tme with my family comes after. Even tough its important to train and practice for a dangerous profession in the future, I dont want to neglect my family. I would play different games with Fuyumi and sometimes down right spoil her. Mom would be nearby watching over us with a smile while reading a book or watching television. She would sometimes play with us if Fuyumi asked her too.

I would then clean myself up and prepare to go to bed. I would reflect and think about today while I wait for sleep to take over me.

All in all I would say its a productive way to spend my days as a kid. The time spent training shows how much I've grown. I'm one of the tallest kids in the class with quite the healthy completion on me. Fuyumi too grew up a bit but still as adorable as always. My time of normalcy is shaken a bit when I came down for breakfast one morning.

Its saturday today which means no school so I plan so go all out on todays training and practice. Just when I am about to get up and wash my plate after eating my breakfast, mom stoped me saying she has great news.

"Kids, I have a surprise for you."

Fuyumi definitely looks excited. She is usually quite and docile if you just leave her alone to play but becomes all smiles and a giggling mess when you play with her. She especially likes getting surprises because it usually means she is getting a brand new toy but to bad for her, I dont think she isn't getting any since mom also asked me to stay.

Mom paused for dramatic effect, making me and Fuyumi wait with baited breaths.

"You're going to have a new baby brother!"

(mom said with a warm smile on her face)

I just sat there looking at her with my eyes wide open and mouth gaping due to the bombshell she just dropped. It took me a few seconds to snap out of it and with a happy cheer, I went to my mom to give her a big hug. I expected Fuyumi to do the same but I guess she didn't fully understand what mom meant so I when told her in a simpler way, her face lit up like the sun and half screamed and half shrieked in pure excitement. She went to mom asking different question and so did I. I looked on in amusement when Fuyumi asked mom where her little brother came from. I asked mom the same question repeating her with an innocent look on my face. I obviously know where babies come from but mom doesn't know that and at this point, I would definitely receive an award for best child actor.

I'm just curious how mom would explain but she just said that its a surprise when we get older. I am okey with that and so is Fuyumi who is looking more and more excited for the future.

When mom was 4months pregnant, a caretaker/nurse was hired to take care of mom and help around the house. Her name is Tachibana Yuno-san and she was the same person hired when mom needed help with me and Fuyumi. From the memories of the previous Touya, she is quite the energetic and hyper woman despite nearing her 40's but even with her eccentricities, she does her job really well. She is kind, caring, patient and pays close attention to the people who she is looking after. It helps that her quirk lets her grow another pair of arms which makes task easier and finish them faster. She can do multiple task with ease and that shows how experienced she is with her job.

Despite the age difference, Yuno-san and mom get along really well as if they are sisters. To me and Fuyumi, she is like the fun and serious Auntie of the family.

Right now Yuno-san, Fuyumi and I are in the hospital waiting for mom and our soon to be little brother. I am fidgeting and looking anxious in my seat due to how worried I am. Even with the advancement of science in medical technology and quirks that doctors and nurses have to help them with their jobs, I still cant help but worry about mom and my little brother. Fuyumi doesn't understand the dangers of giving birth so she just looks excited waiting for the new member of our family.

"Relax Touya, your mom is stronger than she looks so she's going to be A-okey! The stuff here is top notch and doctors and nurses have a lot of experience in this, so chin up! Welcome your mom with a smile!"

Yuno-san gave me a soft pat on the head and a big toothy smile on her face when she said that.

I'm glad, thankful and blessed with Yuno-san's existence. I'm not even surprised that Enji is not here waiting with us. He basically keeps the same schedule and attitude during mom's pregnany not bothering to help around the house or take care of mom. Even though Yuno-san grumbles from time to time about Enji's absence, she isn't surprised that his not here. I guess she got used to it prior to mom giving birth to me and Fuyumi.

We waited for atleast 30minutes before the doctor came out and told us that mom gave birth to a healthy baby boy and both of them are safe and in good health.

Yuno-san and I let out a sigh of relief that we've been holding. Before Fuyumi and I could run in the room, the doctor told us to wait for a while so that the nurses could clean up mom and our little brother. We were given the go ahead after a while and a few moments later, I'm staring at the second cutest and most adorable little baby I have ever seen.

Looking at mom who is safe and healthy, looking at my new baby sibling peacefully sleeping in my mother's arms, I cant help but tear up a bit with a big smile on my face.
