It Felt.. Alive.

Under the cloudless dark sky, in a night with no moonlight, right in the heart of Voniour Empire's Palace.

In a room that only had a frilly white crib paced in the middle, with a wet nurse laying her head on the floor, as if she was sleeping. Stood a man clad in black military uniform with gold lining and a red cape on his left shoulder. If you look closely you'll see that this is the empire's own ruler, the Supreme undisputed conqueror. His majesty Kaviner Rohnert Voniour.

Then that brings to mind a question, why does the emperor need to act like a thief in his own territory?. Surely that could only be answered by him, if one has enough guts to ask and doesn't want to live anymore.

He stood there thinking of alot of things, but mostly was the dabate, should he kill it or not?

In the Kaladia Continent, red eyes were considered as blasphemy against God, as only devils and monsters had them. But on the other hand, it was their fault it was born this way. Kaviner was torn between letting the child live but be burdened with the future of an outcast, or killing it now while it was still ignorant. Not knowing which one is the right choice, he sighed multiple times.

Finally he did something he never dreamed he'd ever do, he asked the child, who, for reference, was born only 5 days ago. That could be an act of madness or a desperation of a father at his wits end.

"Do you wish to live?. I'll count till 5, if you produce any kind of sound at all, then I'll let you live. I can't guarantee how your life will be, but I'll support you for twelve years. If you can prove useful, we'll discuss it then. If not, you'll leave at age of 18, regardless of how you want to live your life..... Just make any sound and you get to live." .

You could say that this emperor was a nut case, who speaks to a 5 days old infant like this?. And you could also say it was unfair, as the child was famous among the maids and knights for its quiteness. Even the head physician was sure he'd suspect it to be mute if he he didn't hear it cry every once in a blue moon.

Kaviner started counting, "5". The child was looking in his general direction, just not focusing on him. "4", his heart started palpating, no matter how ruthless you are, killing your own child still brings unwelcome nauseating feelings. "3", there was a hint of helplessness and plead in his eyes. "2", please say anything, do anything, don't make me take your life, Kaviner never had such conflicting emotions in his life. His eyes were quivering, his entire body was trembling. At that moment he knew ; even if he was heartless he couldn't kill this one. He owned it a life, he can't take it away.

Finally as if the God heard his plead, the child laughed a little. That sound was like the bell of salvation to Kaviner, he almost cried. After collecting his wit, he looked at the child and said: "We have an agreement", then he rushed out of the room as if fleeing.

Few moments later the wet nurse woke up, thinking how dumb could she be to actually sleep on the floor, she made sure the young princess was tucked well and retired to her room. All this while the little baby did not utter another sound.

It has been 5 days since the child was born to this unknown place, and NOO, she was NOT a guest to this world. Just a normal child that was cursed by her own mother.

Due to certain circumstances the child was fed poison as soon as its mother found out that she conceived it. The drug was a strange form of neurotoxin they targets a developing brain. Theoretically it should have made it an idiot, an empty vassal. A body without a soul.

But for some reason, or someone's intervention, a slightly different ingredient than what the woman requested for was granted to her. The two ingredients had the same color and smell, unless an expert you'll never know the difference.

Whether it was God's will or humans machinations, still holds to be seen. The result of the mistake was a completely different strain that deviate from the intended goal. The new drug had the effect to increase the brain maturity at an alarming level. So much that, if taken by an adult it will permanently cripple them, due to fast maturation and expansion of the brain cells it'd act as a tumor and in severe cases may herniate the brain and cause death.

Then what'd the effects be in an unborn child in its second month and still didn't finish its brain maturation?. Well apparently you get a genius son of heaven , NOT.

The drug had the brain cells mature and helped them expand, which is a normal process in a fetus. It just helped it finish earlier, with the side effects of strengthening other cells as well. But that came at a price, the drug poisoned the eyes and had them turn red. With increased scope of coulour. It means you're practically living in a Picasso painting all your life.

Due to the early maturation the child got to hear alot from its mother. About how she came to a strange world, about how it's a beautiful place there. And about his family, this world and mostly about his mother's other knights. Now if that was only what it got to hear it'd have been a disaster. Imagine a child hearing about their mother's grievances all the time, they'd want to take revenge, right?

So luckily (or not), that woman was stupid. She wanted her child to excel even before it was born. It was like she went mad. She took the drug to kill its soul, but believed that as long as she read it alot of books, when a new soul came to reside in it, it'd have the same knowledge as well.

She started reciting to it the art of war, the famous songs, the most epic history battles she knew of and the history of this continent. She told about magic and hearsay, about the known myths and the founding stories of each country. Hoping that the new occupant will get acclimated faster than she did.

Oh.. Yes.. This woman was a guest to Kaladia continent, an uninvited one to boot. She came from somewhere called the 21th century on a planet called Earth. According to her, it was without magic, a world where people hated each other for a myriad of reasons. Illogical ones if I may add, and were about to mess up the entire ecosystem.

But still she called it beautiful.

When she found out that she had intruded a world of swords and magic, She believed that she was its protagonist. And No, she was not the only one.

All of her preparations were to make the vassal of the child worthy of her future brother-in-arms, but actually it went to make the child more sensible. And to make it know that it's mother was a mess. She was the criminal not the victim, regardless of what she believed. But even though it still felt a little sympathy and compassion to her.

The child was Like a blank slate, it learned knowledge from its mother, but still couldn't get to emotions well. It had knowledge but no experience. It knew the language, but couldn't speak it. It's like when someone tells you that the Aurora is magnificent, but you've never seen the Aurora.

The child was very enthusiastic about seeing the world, it's mother kept a countdown every day. Telling it how many days left to meet.

From then the child grasped the concept of time. It became its sole companion. It knew a the numbers from the songs, but not more than 20. So it started to count every day. Only stop counting while it's mother was talking. It can't be helped, being in a completely dark coccon was not very enticing. The child both loved and hated the dark. It gave a sense of protection, but also a sense of loneliness.

That's why the first moment the child opened its eyes to this world it was so beautiful and breathtaking she forgot to cry, the pain from the birth, the first breath and the slapping. All that pain, paled in comparison to the beauty she saw.

The myriad of colors, the dancing lights, the sounds of people, birds and wind. It felt... Alive.
