15 Part 14

[Past-Lucien]

Lucien stared at his mother as she smiled at him. "I can't believe you've been such a good student," she said proudly. "Your grades are perfect and I have received words from the teachers saying what a good student you are."

"So can I finally move back here?" he asked with hope in his heart.

"Not yet," she put the papers down on the table in front of her. "I will bring you back when I see fit."

It was the winter vacations. Lucien had no choice but to come back to his home but he already missed his dead animal companions and Lara. He figured he could immerse himself in some new kind of entertainment now that he was back but his mother had made preparations. He now apparently had a body guard and he was only allowed to stay out till 10 pm. He knew he did not have the privilege to object so he kept quiet.

Cardia was an elegant lady, full of grace. Lucien noticed his mother looked better than ever before. When he asked his mother why she smiled knowingly. "Your father visited."

"And I missed him again," Lucien concluded.

He shrugged the information away though it affected him. He went up the stairs to his room and picked up his phone. He wasn't allowed to have one on him in the school he attended so this was the first time in months he was holding one.

His bodyguard, apparently called Bare, was standing right outside the door. Bare was around thirty and pretty muscular. He had broad shoulders and a very strong looking body. He rarely ever smiled and was not married. His parents were dead so he was all alone in this world now.

Lucien peeked out the door and smiled at Bare. "Bareeeeeeeee," he sang. "Do you want to go out on a date with me today?"

They reached the restaurant at nine pm precisely. Bare realized that the life he and the rich people lived were quite different. After all this rich son of a bitch had just flown to another continent to just have dinner in a restaurant.

"If you plan on getting me drunk so you can sneak away that is not happening, Mr. Lethar," Bare said as he opened the restaurant door for Lucien.

"Chill I won't do anything like that. Though if I do drink don't tell my mom, get it?" he laughed lightly. "Anyway I am here to meet a friend."

They booked a private booth on the second floor. The one side glass view definitely worked out to Lucien's advantage. He ordered a burger and told Bare to get whatever he liked. He just ordered a Pepsi and they waited patiently. Lucien checked his phone to see if he got the timing right.

"Sorry for intruding but we have been waiting for over an hour," Bare said as he chewed on Lucien's burger. Lucien didn't mind, he knew his mother did not allow the man even to have a break. Bare was to be by Lucien's side all the time so he really didn't have time to eat in peace.

"She will be here any minute now," Lucien said. He had all the time in the world. "Are you in a hurry?"

"No Mr. Lethar," Bare said in a hurry. "I'm sorry."

"Don't be, I am not like my mother." He looked down to the first floor. "I won't fire you over this small shit. Why do you work for my mother anyway?"

"She has something very important to me."

"Let me guess," Lucien pretended to think. "A family member perhaps?"

Lucien knew his mother had lied. There were only two types of people who did this stuff for their family. The first kind completely did it for money and his mother wasn't that foolish to employ someone like that to look after Lucien because she knew those swayed by money would easily be swayed by Lucien's charms. He could easily bribe them and those type of men won't even wait a second before switching sides.

The second type were the ones over whom she had leverage. She forced people to work for her by snatching the one thing people treasure most- and for most people it was a family member.

Lucien knew Bare fell under the second category the moment he saw his expressionless face. He was good at reading people and when he saw the emotionless man in front of him his insides were screaming the fact that Bare was not here because he wanted to be.

"My sister," Bare said quietly.

"So if I give her back to you would you work for me?" Lucien leaned on the table in front of him. "I can get her back you know."

"But Mrs. Weighner would kill me," his eyes widened. "I can't work for you. I'm sorry."

"Don't worry about it," he looked out the window once more and his eyes lit up. "She's here!"

Through the gates entered a girl with long blonde hair. Bare stole a glance at the friend he had apparently been waiting for and his jaw dropped.

She looked like a duplicate copy of Cardia Weighner!

"Shocked by the similarity?" Lucien had noticed his reaction. Bare quickly composed himself. "That's my girlfriend, Lara."

"Should we go greet her?"

"No we wait here and watch. You see she is not here to meet me," Lucien stared at the girl who seemed to be watching the TV up front. "She's waiting for her aunt. Now Bare, I need her address. Would you help me get it?"

"You do know stalking is a crime?"

"I do yes," Lucien eyed the bartender closest to them. "You know how I knew she was going to be here?"

"How?" Bare asked. He really didn't want to know but he didn't want to piss Lucien off. His instincts were telling him to do whatever he asked.

"I scared Arnold into telling me. You know Arnold, our butler, works for mom?" Lucien laid back in his seat. "All I did was tell him I would rape his daughter and he agreed to do anything I wanted. Poor man gets scared easily."

"You do know that won't work on me." Bare said. "I really don't see your point."

"Well the point is I forced Arnold to track her down and he is right now working to find out her address so there's no real need for us to be here anyway. But I wanted to see her so bad." Lucien stood up and walked towards Bare. The latter didn't move from his spot. "So you see I can do shit without you noticing. I can sneak out, have a fucking party and come back and you won't even notice. You aren't doing your job properly, should I tell mom that?"

He swayed his head to the music playing in the restaurant and suddenly changed the topic of conversation. "Do you know these glasses actually open? Like windows?"

He reached around Bare and pressed a button. The one side glasses slowly rolled down. Bare was too dumbfounded to speak. He could not believe what the boy in front of him had just said.

Lucien had such a calm voice but his words were enough to make a chill run down Bare's spine which is a lot considering Bare was not one who got easily scared. Bare could only imagine how Arnold felt when Lucien told him if he didn't do what he wanted he would rape her daughter. This boy was not right in the head and being so close to him scared the shit out of him.

"Do you know what song this is?" he asked and Bare looked up at him. The boy was pretty and had such a charming smile. He knew when Lucien grew up he would be a fine looking gentleman.

"I don't know," he said honestly. He wasn't a big fan of music and hardly ever listened to any. The one playing in the background was good but he didn't know the name.

"Wrong answer," Lucien sat down on the floor and grabbed the legs of the chair on which Bare sat and pushed it back. Before Bare could register what had happened he had fallen through the windows and crashed into the first floor, his head split on the pavement. "It's Nightmares."

Call me weak now, asshole.
