Chapter - 1 Lisa tries hard to digest his absence

In the evening, as the sun's slightest orange rays fell on the riverside grasses, a 7-year-old boy had a little long hair that touched his forehead. It was waving with the movement of his ran.

He was chasing after a girl who was the same height as him and had long hair that swung behind her neck.

"Stop, Lisa! I can't run anymore." he gasped while slowing his speed.

"Come after me," she turned back, kept up the running, and waved her hand toward him. "I'll catch it."

Suddenly, his tired foot stopped chasing after her. He pressed his knee with his two hands and panted as his glorious eyes gazed at her.

Lisa's excited and eager feet run so fast.

At last, her soft hand catches the dog.

She ran to him. "Stark, I got it! See how cute this is?" She beamed innocently while panting.

His hand shivered at the thought of touching that dog, and he gave the slightest smile with hesitation.

"I'm going to raise him," she said, patting the dog's head.

She named that dog "Jesh," and they were moved to their home as the sun fully hid from the sky and night filled the earth.

Lisa ran into her house out of excitement.

Her parents stood up immediately after seeing a dirty puppy in her hand.

She showed that puppy to her mother and father. "Dad, I'm going to raise him!" she voiced marveling.

Her mother and father were against it. Lisa cried out so hard and adamantly.

"Get out of that!" Her father snorted and added, "Don't come into the house!"

Lisa's eyes started to pour tears, and she left the house with that dog.

Stark was eavesdropping through his house's main door. He heard footsteps downstairs, so he opened his house door and saw her sitting on the stairs.

He followed her without hesitation and sat next to her while she was whimpering.

He considered."I will raise him, Lisa. Give it to me!" he extended his hand toward the puppy.

"But you're scared of puppies, how can you raise him?" Her words jerked at his nose.

"It's okay, my mom loves dogs. So don't worry," he promises through his assertion.

She wiped her tears. "Really?"

He smiled. "Yeah!" His hand was ready to receive the dog for her. "Give it to me!"

Then they went back to their home.

Lisa became happier with him. From that moment on, she started to avoid her dad.

One evening, on the way back home from kindergarten, Lisa saw an ice cream shop.

"Stark, I want ice cream!" She asked. made puppy eyes.

"But I don't have enough money," he chimed in.

She shook her head left and right and pouted. "I want that, I won't come home until you buy it," she adamantly said.

He gave the area a checking stare. "Then, wait here," he said, leaving her alone on the road.

He ran home faster, took some money from his drawer, and came back to her. But she was not there. So, he stopped right there.

His brooding eyes looked around the area once again. That place was darkening little by little.

He searched for her in all areas near the ice cream shop. but he couldn't locate her.

He got worried and scratched his hair out of anxiety. He rolled his eyes in confusion.

Then he went to the ice cream shop. He pointed at the place where Lisa was standing. "Aunty, did you see the girl standing here just now?"

"I think she was chasing something." She replied

"Do you know which direction she went?" he requested.

After much thinking, she said, "She went to the right side."

He thanked her, then he moved to the right side and saw a forest.

He heard the sound of someone crying there. So he ran faster.

"Lisa! Lisa!" He shouted.

"Ha!" Her frightened face peeked at the way Stark was coming.

"Stark, I am here!" she replied.

He found her in the dark forest. She was in a sitting position and held her knee with her hand.

He kneeled in front of her. "Why are you here?" He lamented.

"I chased after the rabbit then, and I ended up here." She whimpered. started to cry again.

He hugged her in that sitting position.

"Stark, I'm scared," she cried out loud. held him tightly.

"It's alright, I am here." He patted her head and added, "I will never leave you." He convinced her with his comfortable words. After that, they went back home.

On the way back home, he bought ice cream for her. "Here, eat it," he handed it to her. "Your fear will be gone," he said as she received it.

She smiled with that timid face. Then they went home together.

At home, their parents were worried and waiting for them.

The sun freshly peeked out from the sky.

In the stark house, family members were eating peacefully.

Suddenly, a phone rang. His mother answered the phone casually. Suddenly, "What?" "Okay, I will come." Tears came from her eyes.

"Xiya, what happened?"

"Why are you crying?" Her husband came to her.

"My mom is in the hospital, the doctor said that she has heart disease," she whined, wiping away her continuous falling tear.

"Oh! God, hurry!" Sark's father jolted. "Come on, let's go to the hospital," he pulled her.

Stark and his parents were moved to the hospital as their stuttering affected their whole bodies.

At the hospital, the doctor said that her condition was critical and they needed to shift her to a hospital in Canada for cardiologic treatment.

Xiya looked upset. Stark got bewildered and hugged her dad.

Then, they agreed to shift her to Canada. So, Lian asked, "When will we leave from here?"

"According to her situation, you need to shift her today," the doctor said without hesitation.

His mom looked at his dad. Stark and his parents were shocked and confused.

At last, stark dad decided to transfer to the school for him. "You go and tell his teacher to transfer the school for him, I will complete the hospital formalities," the stark father said to his wife.

She rushed to school with stark. The sun came to the center of the sky.

At school, Lisa moved toward them as soon as she saw them.

"Stark, where did you go?" Lisa doubted.

"I had knocked on your door in the morning, but no one was there," Lisa asked curiously.

His mom took him to his class teacher for a transfer. She moved with him.

After hearing that, her eyes kept staring at him.

"Why do you transfer?" she was frightened. "Don't go!" She was adamant again and held his hand tightly.

But he didn't answer her. He lowered his head and looked at the ground.

After finishing the transfer certificate, they moved back to the house to pack up their stuff for Canada. Stark forcefully released his hand from hers.

"Goodbye, Lisa," his eyes gleamed over at her, and he handed her a chain made up of a small diamond-like thing.

Lisa cried hard with watery eyes. "Don't go stark," she screamed. Stark also started to cry slightly but controlled it.

His mom was worried about Lisa."Bye Lisa," she said.

They left the place where they were living and also took Jesh (the dog) with them. Stark and his parents were on an airplane.

He looked down through the window and dreaded. "I will come for you," he caressingly voiced to his dog, Jesh.

After the class had finished, Lisa ran to stark's house to see him. But he was not there, and she also ran to the riverside.

"Stark!" "Jesh!" she shouted.

A few seconds later, she started to cry out loud.

Night came, but still, she didn't return home. Her mom and dad searched around the house for her with stuttering. They searched all over for her but couldn't find her. Her mom sobbed.

At the time, her dad saw Lisa near the riverside. He shouted, "Lisa! What are you doing here?"

"Dad!" She turned to him with that watery eye and whimpered.

"Dad, he left me." She cried and hugged her dad unconsciously when he got closer to her.

"It's alright, let's go home," her dad convinced her. Her mother was standing near her with approaching her.

On the way home, Lisa fell asleep on his shoulder.

Her dad put her to sleep in a bed after she reached the house.

Her dad and mom kept gazing at her as all of their worries saw her.
