1 Look At Her Pretending To Be An Actress!

Two bodies nestled against each other closely, shoulder to shoulder, chest to chest, heart to heart. All the shouting in this world couldn't seem to pierce through the warm atmosphere that surrounded the two.

The couple was laying in a field within palace grounds, gazing up at the stars. Their figures were clad in matching brilliant red traditional-looking costumes.

"Did you enjoy today?" Whispered the man, as he drew her closer into his being, almost as if he were trying to merge their souls into one.

Xing Yu gazed up at him, and felt it from deep within her bones; she loved this man. Pulling herself back so that she could see him better, Xing Yu looked at him and was filled with so much emotions that her heart felt like it would burst open.

The man's tender gaze only made it worst.

"Of course. It's a day I won't ever forget."

"Even if you did," the man said, his voice rich and deep, but his tone filled it with warmth. "I will always remember, and I will always love you."

Xing Yu let out a small laugh. This man… he always said the most romantic things… but Xing Yu knew deep down that he wasn't merely tossing around flowery words.

"I won't forget, I definitely won't."

Just as the man was about to reply, Xing Yu suddenly felt the world tilt, and her body was pulled back. It was strange, because she could still see herself cuddling with the man, but that image was getting smaller and smaller as she flew further and further away, until everything was black.

Liu Xing Yu woke up in tears.

She always did, whenever she had a dream like this. She had had dreams of herself with this mystery man since a long time ago, but she could never remember his face, or who he was. She had never had a love like this before in all her 23 years old living, yet how could she have such a vivid dream? And what bothered her most of all, was why the dreams always ended with her in tears?

Xing Yu barely had any time to compose herself before her phone let out an ear-piercing ring. She sat up from her small, single bed, and reached for her phone, turning off the alarm.

Oh my god! It was already 7? She had a shoot to go to at 8 and it would take her at least 45 minutes on public transport! Although she only had a small role, Xing Yu took it very seriously. She always made sure to be on time for shoots because of her strong work ethic, but it was also because... if she was even a minute late, an unknown actress like her could very easily be replaced in a heartbeat. That was the reality that most of those in the industry faced!

Xing Yu quickly got ready, swooping around her small apartment. Due to her speedy preparation, she managed to leave the house in just a few minutes.

She was wearing a simple pair of black jeans and a nice knitted blouse, and her face was makeup free. She didn't have time to wash her hair, but she knew it didn't matter as she was supposed to look dirty for her role later. Although she was dressed simply, nothing could hide the natural beauty she had, or the grace in her movements.

Liu Xing Yu was certainly beautiful, and her looks alone put her up there with the top actresses in the country! So one couldn't help but wonder… why was someone as amazing as Xing Yu merely an extra…?

AT THE SHOOTING SITE

The shoot location was bustling with people. As it was the first day of filming, everyone was busy setting up and getting to know one another. There were makeup artists and costume designers scurrying from one place to the next. They certainly had their work cut out for them! This production was massive, and the shoot for today had almost 100 extras.

To make things worse, this was a period film set in the Tang Dynasty, so the costumes and looks were even harder to handle, and the director of the drama had insisted on having every character, big or small, look historically accurate. But was that anything to be surprised about? 'Scarlet Moon' was a movie with a budget of 100 million. 100 MILLION! In China's film industry, a production with that budget was already considered a big deal. Many big names in the entertainment industry had gathered as well. There was Director Li Wen Kai, who had many hit films under his belt, the extremely popular idol Xia Ting from 2Star, and as well as top star, Mo Rui Han!

Compared to the big stars who had their own private trailers and could come in much later, Xing Yu was sitting in the makeshift shelter set up for all the extras. All 100 of them had to report 2 hours before the shoot. There were so many of them in such a small place, in addition to the staff, that it was hot and extremely squeezy. It was less than ideal… but what was one to do? They were only extras after all. If they didn't like it they could leave and someone else would be more than willing to take their spot!

By the time it was Xing Yu's turn for makeup, a few hours had alright past. Xing Yu has gotten fully-dressed in her costume first. She was wearing some tattered clothing, as her role was that of a poor commoner. Her jet black hair was dirty and had been teased and tied into a messy ponytail that made her look unkempt. Despite that, the makeup artist that was in the middle of applying makeup on her face to make her look grimy couldn't help but notice Xing Yu's elegant features.

"Miss!" Cried the makeup artist. "You are really beautiful!"

Xing Yu smiled humbly. "You flatter me… but thank you. You are very pretty yourself."

Seeing Xing Yu's friendly response, the makeup artist couldn't help but like her even more. What a shame that such a face was wasted on such an obscure role!

Since the extras were supposed to be part of an angry mob, chances were, Xing Yu may not even be caught on camera!

Thinking about this, the makeup artist couldn't help but wonder why this happened. Maybe she couldn't act at all? But even so, she thought that it was strange that Xing Yu wasn't more famous. It wasn't uncommon for pretty faces to have absolutely 0 acting skills at all in this industry… A face of her calibre should certainly get more attention, yet here she was acting such a minor role… What a shame indeed!

Nonetheless, the makeup artist did the finishing touches on Xing Yu's face. She had to use foundation to cover Xing Yu's pale skin, since commoners in the past were tanned from working in the sun. She proceeded to tie a torn bandana over her forehead. The once beautiful girl had transformed into a commoner with the power of makeup, though no amount could hide her prominent features.

Around an hour later, Xing Yu was sitting down at one of the resting stools provided for the extras. She had tuned out the surrounding noise and simply focused on her role later. Although her part was practically insignificant, she wanted to make sure that she got the feeling of the scene right. Even if no one else cared about one measly actress... she had standards that she held herself to.

Suddenly, two women walked past her before stopping right in front of her. The one in the middle was dressed in a beautiful pink Hanfu that popped against her pale skin that had been made even whiter by the makeup team. Her black hair was done half up and half down with braids cascading down her back. This wasn't historically accurate, but the since the actress was the daughter of the Xia family, who was one of their investors, he had agreed to her request-- no, demand. He had also allowed it since it would help to distinguish the female lead from the rest. She was, after all, Xia Ting, who was a very popular celebrity right now from 2Star, and her fans would like it if she stood out more.

On her right was her manager, who was a short-haired woman in a pair of khaki trousers and a crisp white shirt.

Xing Yu had yet to look up from her script, despite Xia Ting and company standing directly in front of her, their eyes filled with contempt. The more Xing Yu didn't pay them any mind, the more they fumed, especially Xia Ting...

"Hmph! Look at her pretending to be an actress!"
